Yes, God, Yes is a comedy-drama film written and directed by Karen Maine and starring Natalia Dyer. It is Maine’s feature directorial debut, based on her 2017 short film of the same name also starring Dyer. A coming of age sex comedy the New York Times review calls “Slight and sweet, and without much of an edge, “Yes, God, Yes” uses the pursuit of climax as an opportunity to take a gentle dig at religious humbug and holier-than-thou hypocrisy.” Honestly I don’t know if I would like this movie, but I still would have loved to see the film have a red carpet premiere because some of the casts style interests me. I have loved Natalia Dyer for a while now. She has consistently shocked me with the major fashion labels she is able to pull for the red carpet. For this red carpet I went for something much more laid back than the French legacy brands that she has favored wearing on the red carpet in favor of this super chic and summery Tory Burch Fall 2020 RTW dress. I’ve loved these floral blocked silk dresses and I think that Natalia would definitely be able to take this strapless asymmetric midi dress and rock it on the red carpet with effortless, breezy elegance. I would keep the styling for this look very summery adding a romantic curly updo, soft defined eyes, blush pink glossy lips, a sunshine yellow velvet Salvatore Ferragamo minaudiere rectangle box clutch to compliment the ruffles that detail the dress from bust to hem, matching simple yellow leather Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ ankle strap sandals, and Irene Neuwirth green chrysoprase teardrop earrings to compliment the green in the pattern on the right side of the dress. I’ve recently been watching the last two seasons of 13 Reasons Why and been loving Alisha Boe. She has definitely been one I would love to see really bring the fashion factor to the red carpet. She’s been front row at New York and Milan Fashion Week’s. For a red carpet like I imagine the Yes, God, Yes premiere would have been I decided to go to a newer label that has been a favorite to the likes of Blake Lively, Demi Lovato, Olivia Culpo, and Gwyneth Paltrow: Retrofête. The brand is known for heavily beaded dresses in simple silhouette which is exactly what this tangerine orange ‘Grace’ dress which features poet sleeves, velvet detailed sash belt, keyhole cutout back, and a jewel neckline. I feel like this color on Alisha would be absolutely fantastic. With loose waves worn over one shoulder, smokey eyes, glossy antique rose pink lips, a gold Alexander McQueen crystal-embellished clasp metal box clutch, gold Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Kay’ coil cuff ankle strap sandals, and a pair of Jennifer Fisher 2″ fine thread hoop earrings this look would scream summer sex appeal and glamour from head to toe.
Yes, God, Yes is currently screening at select drive in theaters and digital cinemas and will be available for Video On Demand Tuesday July 28, 2020.
