Peacock Launch Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

Today we close out my wishes for what could have been had there been a launch party for NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service. Peacock is going to be NBCUniversal’s take on Netflix. I know you are all thinking the same thing I am. Why do we need ANOTHER streaming service. The whole reason people started leaving cable for streaming was because of how expensive cable has become. Now NBC, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime and I know there are more. Why do we need all of these different streams that end up costing more than cable? Are the different companies banding together to push people back to regular television? Now while I do not plan to indulge NBCUniversal and subscribe to Peacock I am sad there won’t be a big launch party for the streaming platform. The streamer will have content from all the best of the NBCUniversal family including from NBC, Bravo, E!, as well as movies produced by Universal. It will also include original series created by some of the favorite names in the NBCUniversal family. Now while there isn’t a big launch party planned ahead of the streaming services July 15, 2020 launch date I’m making wishes as if there would have been and if it had been a major gala red carpet event like the AppleTV+ launch. So let’s get on into it shall we? Demi Moore will star in the new original drama series Brave New World which is based on the dystopian novel by Aldous Huxley. Demi pops in and out of the red carpet scene and when she does she puts in the effort. Earlier this year at a Harper’s Bazaar gala in Paris she wore a dramatic Dior Couture ball gown. For the Peacock launch I went with something super glam with this midnight blue lamé-plissé Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2020 all over pleated midi dress which features a relaxed fit and dramatic balloon sleeves. The look gives me disco glam vibes and I feel like Demi would definitely bring the look to life with effortless glamour. Old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a midnight blue crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Ritz Fizz’ envelope clutch, midnight blue velvet Casadei chunky rock crystal embellished platform sandals, and Nikos Koulis jewels including a pair of ‘Oui’ collection white gold pendant drop earrings with oval blue sapphires, pear shape, round and trillion white diamonds and black enamel and a matching geometric cocktail ring with a rose cut blue sapphire, white diamonds and black enamel would all have ensured this look was perfectly put together.British actress Laura Haddock stars in The Capture which originally aired in the UK last year, but will make is American market debut on Peacock. I have long loved seeing Laura on the red carpet. She always brings the glamour to the red carpet so I definitely knew I had to pick something that screams glamour for her to wear had there been a gala launch party for Peacock. Enter this lipstick red Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2020 ruffled tulle strapless gown which features an A-line tiered silhouette, strapless neckline, tea length, and defined waist. As soon as I started thinking about what I wanted Laura to wear had this red carpet happened I knew that this gown was perfect. It gives distinct 1950’s glamour vibes and I know that Laura would have sold it to us with ease wearing this gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, matching red lips, a pair of red satin Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ three strap red crystal stacked ball heel sandals, and Shee’s Fine Jewelry ‘Garden’ collection white diamond cluster earrings with a matching cocktail ring. Honestly I highly doubt Meghan Markle would have attended the launch of Peacock, but since Suits will be streaming exclusively on the NBCUniversal service and this is a set of fantasy wishes I thought why not. Meghan and Harry stepped down from their official royal duties earlier this year so it’s definitely possible that we will see the couple make more glitzy Hollywood event stops. After marrying Harry we saw Meghan develop a fondness for vintage high fashion so when I was thinking about the perfect look for her to wear had this red carpet actually happened I started searching 1stDibs for the perfect vintage gown. I knew the moment I saw this red 1970 Yves Saint Laurent Haute Couture micro polka dotted loose fit gown which features ruffled dolman sleeves that drape down the v-shaped open back that it was perfect. It would definitely not have been an option for Meghan as an official royal, but I think that it is definitely something she would be drawn to. It meshes bohemian glamour and sex appeal perfectly. I would have loved to see Meghan bring this gown to life on the red carpet styling it with a romantic updo, soft smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, a red satin and Swarovski crystal embellished Tyler Ellis ‘Lee Pouchet’ envelope clutch, a pair of black leather Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ ankle strap sandals, and Tiffany & Co. multi cut drop white diamond earrings. All would have ensured this looked oozed glamour from head to toe. Finishing out my wishes for what could have been a major red carpet for the Peacock streaming service launch is the gorgeous Rashida Jones. The actress turned director is working with NBCUniversal to create an original comedy called Straight Talk, about two main characters with opposing ideologies forced into an odd coupling. When it comes to fashion I go back and forth on Rashida’s style. I always want to love, but fit is often off. For this red carpet I would have made sure that Rashida delivers MAJOR glamour on the red carpet turning to this champagne gold wool-blend lamé The Vampire’s Wife “The American Chevron’ gown which features V-shaped panels at the waist, a line silhouette, and short padded puffed sleeves accented by feminine bows and lined with lustrous silk satin. While the looks from The Vampire’s Wife aren’t exactly groundbreaking when stars wear these creations they always end up looking their best. I really do think that would have been the case here for Rashida. A romantic updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a geometric Rafe ‘Melissa’ mauve and bordeaux lacquer with brownlipshell inlay rectangular minaudiere, gold Stuart Weitzman ‘Starla’ strappy glittered sandals, and one of a kind multi-tone pink tourmaline and white diamond asymmetric Irene Neuwirth drop earrings would all have put this look together perfect and give Rashida one of her best red carpet moments ever.

The Peacock streaming service will drop on July 15, 2020. Check out Part 1 of my wishes for the Peacock launch here and Part 2 here.
