Peacock Launch Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

Peacock is going to be NBCUniversal’s take on Netflix. I know you are all thinking the same thing I am. Why do we need ANOTHER streaming service. The whole reason people started leaving cable for streaming was because of how expensive cable has become. Now NBC, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV+, Amazon Prime and I know there are more. Why do we need all of these different streams that end up costing more than cable? Are the different companies banding together to push people back to regular television? Now while I do not plan to indulge NBCUniversal and subscribe to Peacock I am sad there won’t be a big launch party for the streaming platform. The streamer will have content from all the best of the NBCUniversal family including from NBC, Bravo, E!, as well as movies produced by Universal. It will also include original series created by some of the favorite names in the NBCUniversal family. Now while there isn’t a big launch party planned ahead of the streaming services July 15, 2020 launch date I’m making wishes as if there would have been and if it had been a major gala red carpet event like the AppleTV+ launch. So let’s get on into it shall we? Will & Grace will be one of the NBC series that will be streaming on Peacock. The shows star Debra Messing has been someone who I either love or loathe on the red carpet. Recently it has been more of the latter. Had she been on the red carpet at the launch of Peacock I would have hoped she would have been giving us a lot of glamour on the red carpet wearing this black Pamella Rolland Fall 2020 RTW pearl embellished ruffled tulle off the shoulder a-line midi gown. I would have loved to see her bring this super glamorous gown to life on the red carpet at the Peacock launch. I think that had Debra worn this gown with a sleek updo, defined smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of black satin Christian Louboutin ‘Nicol is Back’ criss-cross mules, and antique Edwardian diamond girandole earrings from Kentshire would have ensured that Debra had a super glamorous on her hands. Keeping Up With The Kardashians is also going to be streaming exclusively on Peacock so you know that had there been a big launch party for the service that Kim Kardashian would have been front and center. I honestly can’t stand Kim as a person, but on the red carpet she is very interesting. In the last year she has really focused on wearing a lot of vintage on the red carpet so when I was thinking about what to puck for her to wear had this event happened I definitely looked at some of those major fashion stars for her to wear on the red carpet. Kim loves her a good Tom Ford moment on the red carpet, so it surprises me that she hasn’t worn any of the iconic looks he created for Gucci during his time as the creative director there. I was looking at archive runway shows and the moment I saw this chartreuse green Gucci Fall 2004 RTW gown which features bias cut stripes, a daring plunging neckline, and a tiered fringe skirt I knew I had found the perfect look. I imagine this color being FANTASTIC on Kim. This gown hails from one of the most important collections Tom Ford designed for Gucci, his last. Which makes this such an important gown. I really do think that Kim would definitely be able to give it the red carpet moment it deserves. Styled with sleek center parted hair tucked behind the ears, smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, a pair of gold Tom Ford ‘Eel Padlock & Key’ metallic leather ankle strap sandals, and David Yurman cushion cut peridot and white diamond link drop earrings I can just imagine Kim owning this red carpet. Mindy Kaling was one of the stars of the hit Emmy Award winning NBC comedy The Office so with that being included in the Peacock streaming service with The Mindy Project and the fact that she is also going to be producing an original comedy series called Expecting about a single woman who asks her gay best friend to be her sperm donor. So yes I definitely think that Mindy should have been on this red carpet. As I was working on these wishes I knew immediately what gown I was going to pick for Mindy. This hot pink Andrew Gn Fall 2020 RTW bishop sleeve pleated silk gown which features an intricate emerald crystal necklace embroidered into the neckline. I definitely think this color on Mindy would be PHENOMENAL. I would have styled this gown with a sleek updo so that hair doesn’t compete with the neck detail, defined eyes, nude glossy lips, a black Jimmy Choo ‘Leonis’ clutch with an emerald green crystal embellished clasp, and a pair of hot pink metallic leather Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Alyssa’ slingback pointed toe pumps. Now because of the collar embellishments I wouldn’t have styled this look with any jewels. I just don’t think they are needed. I think that this look would have been one for Mindy’s red carpet record book. Olivia Wilde was a star of the series House which is also going to stream on Peacock, so I really would have loved to see her bring the edgy glam to the red carpet. I feel like Olivia would have rocked the red carpet at the Peacock launch wearing this black Alexander McQueen Fall 2020 RTW blazer dress which features the perfect silk to organza ombre construction, and a banded high low hem, leather harness bag. I definitely believe that this is right in step with Olivia’s new edgier sense of style and would have been perfect for this red carpet. A wavy bob, thick lined eyes, red lips, a pair of black leather Christian Louboutin ‘Louise X 100’ thigh high boots, and asymmetrical Messika High Jewelry ‘Shahrâzâd’ white diamond earcuffs would definitely have ensured Olivia delivered that edgy glamour on this red carpet. Sophia Bush rounds out today’s wishes. Sophia was part of the cast of Chicago PD for a while and that would definitely make me want to see her on the Peacock launch red carpet. I used to LOVED Sophia’s style, but since she left the show it seems like she has been wearing a lot of trash looks. So I would have really wanted to see Sophia give us the best red carpet moment she’s worn in a while wearing this grey to beige ombre Monique Lhuillier Fall 2020 RTW glittered tulle tea length gown which features a strapless sweetheart neckline ruched bustier bodice and an a-line skirt. I immediately thought of this gown for Sophia when I started my search. I looked at a couple other options, but I kept coming back to this look. I really do think that Sophia would look so feminine and elegant wearing this gown especially styled with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a grey woven satin Bottega Veneta knot clasp clutch, nude suede Jimmy Choo ‘Dochas’ crystal trimmed ankle strap sandals, and vintage Neil Lane gunmetal set white diamond ball drop earrings worn many moons ago by Reese Witherspoon.

The Peacock streaming service will drop on July 15, 2020. Check out Part 1 of my wishes for the Peacock launch here.
