I have to say I was uber disappointed with the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Looks from that premiere are definitely in consideration for Worst Dressed of the Year and I don’t know if anything could bring the cast back for a Best Promo Tour of the Year or a Best Ensemble Cast award this year. I had such high expectations, and they were crushed. I am hoping that when the two big premieres in LA and London happen that the cast is on top form. Today’s wishes are focusing on the films premiere in LA and with a title like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I want to see this cast bring their A game to the red carpet in the land of dreams. I can honestly say I cannot believe that I have been inspired to include Brad Pitt in a wish list. It definitely wasn’t anything that Brad has worn on the red carpet that has sparked that inspiration. Instead it came courtesy of Celine by Heidi Slimane. As I was flipping through the brands Spring 2020 Menswear collection I couldn’t shake the thought of Brad wearing several of the looks from the collection on the red carpet. For the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I decided to go with a bit of a 70’s inspiration for Brad right off the Celine runway with this dark brown pinstripe double breasted suit paired with a black button down and a thin black belt. Is the look boundary pushing? No. Not at all, but I definitely think it is more of a put together look than we have seen from Brad in a really long time and feel like it just fits the vibe of the movie perfectly. I decided that after he did the whole black tie tuxedo thing for Cannes that this slightly more casual suit works for this red carpet. Now honestly I don’t want to see Brad button the suit but instead walk the red carpet with at least one hand in a pocket at all time. Finish the look with a clean shaven face, a TAG Heuer ‘Carrera Calibre Heuer 02T’ watch, and simple black Celine ‘Drugstore’ calfskin lace up derbies to really make this an inspired option for Brad to wear for this premiere. Margot Robbie really disappointed me. She took her character in the film, Sharon Tate, wayyyyy to literally snatching an archive Chanel look which consist of a blush and black tunic and sequin pants. The black ribbon choker, satin booties, and lackluster hair all aided in my disappointment. Honestly I haven’t been thrilled with what Margot has brought to the red carpet in a while. I almost feel like it is time for her to swap stylist, but I doubt that will happen. Anyway. For the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I want to see Margot up her level of glamour wearing this black bias cut halter gown from the Chanel Fall 2019 Couture collection which features a black and white feathered hem. I saw this gown and immediately knew I had found a red carpet winner for Margot. Now I am hoping she saw it there in person, as she was front row and I was not even in the building, and had the same thought. Now the styling for this look is where she could really fuck it up. I think that with a loose beehive updo, smokey eyes, glossy blush pink lips, simple black Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Queen’ sandals, and Chanel High Jewelry ‘Coromandel Evocation’ diamond fringe drop earrings that this would definitely be major glamour moment that I am craving so badly from Margot. Dakota Fanning actually did bring a really glamorous moment to life on the red carpet at the Cannes premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood wearing a chic pearl white and pale yellow strapless custom Armani Prive gown. I want to see her continue to bring chic moments to the red carpet. I decided to also pick a black gown for Dakota to wear for the films LA premiere because I adore this black Prada crystal embellished silk cady gown which feature thick straps, a draped bodice, and a flowing skirt. This gown is chic from the front, but the back where the crystal straps and waist meet with a chic bow is really the star of this gown. It screams classic Hollywood glamour and that is why I think it would work so perfectly for this red carpet especially if styled with a sleek side parted updo, defined eyes, punchy pink lips, a black satin Prada box clutch, a pair of black Prada crystal embellished strappy sandals, and simple vintage Cartier teardrop diamond drop earrings. None of the next generation of Hollywood attended any of the Cannes events promoting Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I don’t know if that was because they weren’t invited or if Tarantino just wanted to have the top billed cast at the festival. Whatever the reason was for not having them in Cannes I am hoping that we will see them at the films premieres in LA and London. For the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I would love to see Margaret Qualley go for short glamour wearing this cranberry red Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2019 sequin embellished tulle cocktail dress which features a square neckline, thin straps, sheer hem, and an A-line silhouette. While I went for really glamorous gowns for Margot and Dakota I think that this cocktail dress is the perfect glam moment for Margaret to bring to life for this premiere especially if the dress was styled with a chic half up/half down hairstyle, defined eyes, matching cranberry red lips, and a pair of cabernet satin Badgley Mischka ‘Pauline’ crystal embellished heel sandals. Maya Hawke hasn’t really had a major fashion moment on a red carpet yet, and what better time to start than at the LA premiere of a movie that is already gaining Oscar buzz? I don’t know how big her role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is, but I definitely still want to see her deliver a chic moment on the red carpet. Maya did star as the model for Zac Posen’s Spring 2019 RTW collection lookbook, so when I was thinking of the perfect look for her to wear on this red carpet it should come as no surprise that I turned to the New York based couturier to give that perfect glam moment. I ADORE this forest green Zac Posen halter gown which features delicate allover pleating, a crisscross style halter neckline, rise and fall tea length, and sash details at the back and I definitely think that Maya would look so chic on this red carpet wearing this gown. I don’t usually go for gowns like this that really show off a shoe as I think it can cut off the leg and make someone appear shorter than they are, but the awkward length that her suit pants were cropped to at the Stranger Things Season 3 premiere made me think that she could make this length work. A loose updo with her bangs, defined eyes, rose pink lips, gold Gianvito Rossi emerald crystal embellished strappy sandals, and a pair of vintage 14k gold Victoria Etruscan Revival style drop earrings from Beladora would definitely ensure that Maya delivers a really glamorous moment on this red carpet. Finishing out this list is rising star Sydney Sweeney. She has definitely started catching the eye of some major fashion brands including Carolina Herrera and Miu Miu. That is why I really want to see her bring something to the red carpet at the LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. She has a very sweet and sugary feminine style and when I was picking looks for this red carpet I knew immediately I wanted to see her wearing this white Giambattista Valli Resort 2020 strapless ruffled tulle tea length gown which feature an A-line cut, ruffled trims, and a pink floral-print underlay. This dress is so sweet that it is giving me a tooth ache. Done wrong this look would definitely come across as too twee for Sydney. I would add a romantic updo, defined eyes, nude pink lips, a pair of embossed iridescent leather Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ three strap sandals, and statement Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2019 white and pink titanium orchid cluster earrings with a pink opal center to really make this the perfect wow moment for Sydney to bring to life on this Oscar buzzing movie premiere red carpet.
The LA premiere of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is expected to take place on Monday July 29, 2019.
