2019 San Diego Comic-Con Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

San Diego Comic-Con is less than 10 days away and I am really excited to see what everyone whom will be there is cooking up with their stylists for chic casual but make it fashion moments on the red carpet. We have seen everything from Calvin Klein by Appointment and brand new Monse to Miu Miu and Elie Saab to Dior and Rodarte on the backs of stars at Comic-Con over the years. I feel like over the last several years that Comic-Con style has just gotten better and better. I remember the days when it was all about jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers. Not even close to what we see nowadays. It isn’t a rarity to see an a-list star wearing a direct off the runway look for a Comic-Con panel. So after a full day of confirmed panels in yesterday’s wishes I am back to another unconfirmed film that I want to see paneled at this years San Diego Comic-Con: Zombieland: Double Tap. The original Zombieland did have a panel at Comic-Con 10 years ago, so it would surprise me if the cast isn’t back in San Diego to promote the sequel. A lot has changed in Emma Stone’s world since Comic-Con 2009. She has won an Oscar, kissed Ryan Gosling (multiple times), and her style has gotten soooooooooooo much better. Now I will say I HATE the fact she sold her soul to Louis Vuitton almost 2 years ago now. She hasn’t really delivered the major moments that I know she has the potential to deliver, but when it comes to a more casual event like Comic-Con I definitely think a chic LV look like this brown and yellow floral print puffy sleeve blouse and black leather tiered a-line skirt from the Louis Vuitton Fall 2019 RTW collection would be perfect. I would leave the white collar thing at home ditch the white collar thing, the black undershirt, and the black long sleeve undershirt at home. I think that is one of the things I dislike most about Louis Vuitton collections. They are typically a little over styled, but then again most runway shows are. Especially when it comes to casual looks. I do think that the stripped back version of this look is perfect for her to bring to life at Comic-Con especially if paired with black calf leather and brown classic LV monogram ‘Headline’ d’orsay round toe ankle strap pumps, a loose casual updo, defined eyes, raspberry pink lips, and a pair of Buccellati ‘Opera’ gold open pendant drop earrings. Zoey Deutch is joining the cast of Zombieland: Double Tap and I definitely am excited to see what she has in store for this promo tour. Her style is typically very feminine and elegant. That isn’t exactly what I think of when I think of a Zombie movie. Honestly when it comes to a Zombie movie vibe I honestly can believe my first thought was to put Zoey in Dior, but that is exactly what I did pick for her to bring to life for a San Diego Comic-Con panel for Zombieland: Double Tap. I love this black lace Christian Dior pleated mini dress which features a checkered bustier inspired bodice and three-quarter length sleeves. It is definitely something that I can see Zoey wearing and it would be a chic moment for her to wear for Comic-Con. A sleek side parted bob, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of black Christian Dior ‘J’Adior’ pointed toe pumps, and a slight pop of color via Brumani ‘Yara’ collection aquamarine and white topaz earrings would definitely make this a super chic moment for Zoey to bring to life for Comic-Con.Westworld is coming back to Comic-Con this year and I am super excited. The women in the cast of Westworld are among some of my favorite ladies to see on a red carpet and each as an amazing sense of casual dress in addition to amazing formal taste. Evan Rachel Wood made a vow 2 years ago to wear a pants look for every red carpet that she walked that year, well that has been the case for pretty much every red carpet appearance since. I’m not complaining. Evan rocks a pantsuit like no other. I was looking for the perfect look for her to wear for the Westworld panel at San Diego Comic-Con when I found this khaki Burberry Resort 2020 suit which features a cropped blazer with chocolate brown bomber banding on the waist and front pleated trousers. It is a pretty classic suit, but I think that the banding on the blazer makes it fresh and cool. Now I would dress the look down a little pairing the suit with a white Hanes x Karla ‘The Crew’ white t-shirt, a sleek low bun, defined eyes, cinnamon red lips, a pair of brown Marc Ellis snakeskin effect ankle strap d’orsay pointed toe pumps, and Mateo New York 14k gold ball and pearl ear jacket earrings to really make this a perfect Comic-Con ensemble.  Tessa Thompson has had a superb year fashion wise so far and coming off the heels of a major Sci-Fi promo tour for Men In Black: International I definitely think that she should own Comic-Con. Right now it would seem that if we were to see Tessa at San Diego Comic-Con this year that it would be on the Westworld panel. Now Tessa loves a theme look and given the fact that she isn’t one of the characters in the park in the series we don’t get to see her do a whole lot of western inspired looks. I decided that why not go for it with this burnt orange clay Chloe Fall 2019 RTW silk printed dress which features puffy peasant sleeves with white lace trim on the cuffs, bronze button detail on one shoulder, and a mini length and really embrace the western theme of the show. I would even go a little western inspired for the styling as well adding chic braids, bronze smokey eyes, dark rose lips, a pair of brown Aquazzura ‘Wild Fringe’ fringe trimmed suede sandals, and yellow gold and white diamond Nikos Koulis ‘Lingerie’ collection ball and disc detailed hoop earrings. It would all tie the western theme together in one pretty package.  In season two of Westworld Thandie Newton gets out of the “West” in favor of the “East” and I decided that I wanted to mesh the two aesthetics for the perfect look for her to wear for the shows panel at Comic-Con. I say that like it was my intention when actually I knew I wanted to pick a look from Altuzarra for Thandie and I just happened to fall in love with this ‘Larisa’ ruched floral print crepe dress which features a deep V-neckline, a tweed pattern on the the puffed shoulders, sequin embellishment down the long sleeves, and an asymmetric midi hem which hails from the Altuzarra Fall 2019 RTW collection. I definitely though see this dress as a perfect meshing of east and west this making it a perfect look for Thandie to wear for this panel. A wavy pulled back hairstyle, defined eyes, matte nude lips, a pair of black Gianvito Rossi ‘Plexi’ pointed toe pumps, and Jennifer Fischer ‘Haywire’ 10k gold plated brass cluster earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble.

The 2019 San Diego Comic-Con will take place from Thursday July 18, 2019 to Sunday July 21, 2019.
