2019 San Diego Comic-Con Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

One of the most casual events of the year that I cover on If I Was A Stylist is the annual San Diego Comic-Con. Now Comic-Con’s happen all over the country, and the world, on basically a weekly basis, but it the mecca for all major projects related to Comic’s, and then beyond. Over the next several days I will be going down a list of confirmed panels, and a couple of films that I am expecting to see promoted at the convention, with elevated daywear wishes! So here we go!First film that I feel would be a perfect fit to be promoted at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, that hasn’t yet been confirmed to have a panel, is Godzilla vs King Kong. These are storied comic-book characters that seem to be worthy of resurrection again and following a major promo tour for Godzilla: King of the Monsters I am really excited to see what this tour next year, the film is expected March 13, 2019. This is just one project that the always fabulous Danai Gurira could promote at SDCC this year. For this panel I decided to go right to hot off the presses fashion for Danai picking this multicolored mismatched print ADEAM Resort 2020 flowing ensemble. This relaxed chic scarf print ensemble is definitely very chic and given the fact that Danai is a lover of color, print, and femininity I think that this look is perfect for her to rock for a Comic-Con panel. Finish the look with one of her unexpected hairstyles, defined eyes, burgundy glossy lips, a pair of orange Olgana Paris chain detail slingback pointed toe pumps, and David Yurman ‘Chatelaine’ linear chain drop earrings with citrines and diamonds.Eiza Gonzalez also stars in Godzilla vs King Kong and has been one of my favorite rising stars to see on the red carpet. I am expecting some major looks from her as she gears up to promote this film. She exudes sensual glamour on the red carpet and I am expecting that if we see her at San Diego Comic Con that she will bring the extra, yet still casual, approach to glamour that we see her exude for press events. I loved this blue, purple, red, and coral watercolor floral print Prabal Gurung Resort 2019 ensemble which features a short sleeve button down tucked into a high waisted draped mini skirt with a slashed scarf detail the moment I saw it and definitely thought it would fit Eiza’s style perfectly. A sleek center-parted blowout, defined eyes, soft rose pink lips, a pair of blue Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Neyla’ sandals, and Irene Neuwirth akoya pearl studded crescent hoop earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Millie Bobby Brown owned the red carpet at the promo tour for Godzilla: King of Monsters and is part of the cast of the upcoming sequel Godzilla vs King Kong. She has long been one of my favorite young stars to watch continue to grow on the red carpet. This would just be one of two projects that we could see Millie promoting on a panel at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con. She knows how to deliver fashion forward moments on the red carpet, while still being age appropriate. The 15 year old actress has rocked looks from some of the biggest brands in fashion, but always looks like a 15 year old. Sometimes in Hollywood there is a pressure for young stars to dress older than they are and I love that Millie’s stylist Thomas Carter Phillips (who also dresses Danai) always makes sure that Millie looks like a 15 year old having fun with fashion. For this panel at Comic Con I went to an off the rack look picking this Gucci dress which features an orange flower leaf rebrodé lace top with grosgrain bow, an of-white tweed skirt with striped grosgrain trim, peter pan collar, and short sleeves. It is a chic and fun dress. Perfect for a young star while being a little elevated than the typical dress we see at Comic-Con. Styling this dress with a wavy bob, barely there makeup, a black L’Afshar ‘Ida’ embossed crocodile top handle box bag (for photos arriving,) black Gucci ‘Victoire’ mid heel logo loafer pumps, and Selim Mouzannar ‘Mina’ drop earrings in 18k pink gold and ivory enamel set with diamonds would make this look perfection head to toe!The final member of the cast of Godzilla vs King Kong that I have a wish for is Chinese actress and fashionista Zhang Ziyi. I didn’t realize how much I was missed seeing the actress on the red carpet. She LOVES a couture moment on the red carpet. Comic-Con is not a place for couture looks, even though many major moments just came down the runway in Paris. Instead I decided to forgo a runway look completely for Zhang Ziyi, but instead opting for the black and green Valentino lily print crepe de chine pajama set that I found on the virtual racks of Bergdorf Goodman. It is another chic elevated casual moment and I do believe that Zhang has the effortless glamour to really make this look come to life for an event like this. I think that this look would be perfectly styled for this casual event with a sleek low chignon, defined eyes, pink lips, and a pair of simple black Gianvito Rossi ‘Gianvito 105’ pointed toe pumps. Now another star whom I have not confirmed to be in attendance at San Diego Comic Con is Spider-Man: Far From Home starlet Zendaya. She had a very chic moment in Armani Prive at the films premiere in LA last week and spent this week hopping from front row to front row during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. If she does jaunt to San Diego for Comic-Con I would love to see her do so wearing this Dice Kayek Resort 2020 ensemble which features a grey floral printed silk button down tied at the waist and pink center pleated capri pants. Again I wanted to give an elevated version of casual elegance for Zendaya to bring to life at Comic-Con this year. I love this chic look and I definitely believe that with a sleek low bun, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of pink Midnight 60 PVC detailed and crystal embellished ankle strap pointed toe pumps, and Maxior art deco white topaz, white diamond, and chocolate diamond drop earrings that Zendaya would own Comic-Con fashion.

The 2019 San Diego Comic-Con will take place from Thursday July 18, 2019 to Sunday July 21, 2019.
