A week from today I am going to kick off my Met Gala wishes so I am going to do my best to fit a lot of the big events that are expected to take place over the next month and cover them in the next 7 days. The 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards red carpet is set to take place in Las Vegas this Sunday April 7, 2019 and I have to say that this year I am really excited to see what everyone will wear. This year it seems like is the year where fashion is really embracing country music stars. So while this red carpet is typically full of middle eastern designers and their (sometimes overly) dramatic embellished gown or off the rack top label looks. This year I am expecting some really amazing fashion moments on this red carpet. Bebe Rexha is nominated with her “Meant To Be” co-stars Florida Georgia Line and I am really interested in seeing what she will wear on this red carpet. After all the social media drama of Bebe talking about the fact that designers didn’t want to dress her for the Grammy’s because of her size the look she wore was a bit underwhelming with the fact that she picked a gown by Monsoori. Luke Meagher, AKA Haute Le Mode, said it best “I don’t think your size is the issue, I think the fact that your Bebe Rexha is the issue” in reference to why designers wouldn’t dress her. I don’t think Bebe is going to be a muse for Marc Jacobs, Versace, Prada, or even Michael Kors (like Rita Ora and I am sure she gets annoyed with Rita Ora comparisons.) So I decided to stick with the lane of labels I think would actually dress Bebe. I adore this fuchsia Rasario Fall 2019 RTW asymmetrically draped silk satin gown which features a strapless neckline, a fitted waistline, midi-length, and a cascading sash along the side that creates an asymmetrical silhouette and definitely think that a wide range of women could rock this gown on the red carpet, and I think that it would be a really glamorous moment on the red carpet at the ACM Awards for Bebe. It isn’t the quirky or overtly sexy looks we are used to seeing from Bebe, but it is a very chic and elegant gown that I think that she could edge up a little. To do just that I would love to see Bebe style this look with an edgy updo, smokey eyes, dark antique rose pink lips, a pair of black and gold Rene Caovilla ‘Fiocchina’ metallic leather bow detail crystal embellished sandals, and Anabela Chan ‘Midnight Tassel’ 18k gold set rose cut diamond and onyx drop earrings and I think this look would be head to toe perfection. Carrie Underwood also doesn’t wear the top of the line designers on the red carpet. She tends to stick to her middle eastern incredibly embellished designs and honestly I don’t think that is going to change any time soon. So when I was searching for gowns for her to wear on this red carpet I decided to stay in that lane. I turned to Dubai based Syrian born designer Rami Al Ali and this incredibly chic champagne gold Rami Al Ali Spring 2019 Couture sleeveless column gown which features an asymmetrical bodice, plunging neckline, asymmetrically draped skirt trimmed in fringe for the perfect gown for Carrie to wear on this red carpet. It isn’t the most dramatic or fashion moment that I have picked for this red carpet, or for Carrie, but I definitely think that this would be an incredibly chic moment for her to rock on this red carpet. I would style this gown with sleek center parted hair tucked behind her ears, smokey eyes, glossy antique rose pink lips, a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti strappy crystal beaded stiletto sandals, and incredible Borgioni rose gold set baguette diamond drop ear jackets to really make this an absolutely glamorous moment for Carrie. Kacey Musgraves is really the one who is changing the level of designer on the red carpet as a country music star. Since she first came onto the scene she has always given a higher level of label, but when she attended the Grammy Awards earlier this year wearing Valentino Couture and a hot off the runway Valentino Pre-Fall cocktail dress to accept her album of the year title, I am really excited to seeing what she will wear on the red carpet at the ACM Awards. She has long been a fan of Versace designs on the red carpet and I would love to see her rock her first couture confection from the brand on the red carpet. I LOVE this champagne, blush, seafoam, periwinkle, and cornflower blue micro-pleated Atelier Versace Spring 2019 Couture gown which features an intricately draped design, an a-line skirt, draped scarves, and a sweeping train (the back is absolutely AMAZING) and definitely think that sometime over the next several weeks we will see it on the red carpet. It could be saved for the Met Gala or the Cannes Film Festival, but if Kacey’s stylist Erica Cloud asked very nicely I think that Lucio (the head of VIP relations for Versace) just may loan this gown out for Kacey to wear for the Academy of Country Music Awards. A sleek updo, defined soft glittery smokey eyes, soft pink lips, blush pink Versace satin platform sandals, and an amazing pair of Irene Neuwirth green tourmaline, pink tourmaline, sunstone, and diamond chandelier earrings all would ensure that this moment is high fashion unicorn glamour from head to toe. Maren Morris has potential to really wow me on the red carpet, but often times I find her really underwhelming. That surprises me as she has the same stylist as Taylor Swift, but the looks that Maren wears are nowhere near the same level. I want to see Maren up her game so I decided to turn to one of the more underrated French designers, Andrew Gn. This black and white Andrew Gn Fall 2019 RTW mini dress which features a floral embroidered empire sleeveless bustier and a velvet-trimmed waistline that blossoms into plumes of ostrich feathers is chic, flirty, and glamorous and I definitely think it would be a perfect option for Maren to wear on the red carpet at the ACM Awards especially if paired with a black Judith Leiber ‘Reflection’ resin box clutch, a side parted sleek bob, defined eyes, red lips, black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Peony’ crystal trimmed satin sandals, and IVY New York unheated sapphire and diamond drop earrings. Rounding out this list is the always fabulous Nicole Kidman. She is almost always on the arm of her hubby Keith Urban at the country music awards shows and some of her best looks have come from these red carpets. In recent years we have seen Nicole step onto this red carpet wearing looks from brands like Alexander McQueen and Michael Kors. I decided to go with something different for Nicole to rock on this red carpet. We have never seen Nicole wearing an Alexander Wang label design on the red carpet before. She did wear one or two looks from the designer when he was the creative director of Balenciaga, but never from his eponymous label. I honestly was originally going to pick this white asymmetrical Alexander Wang Fall 2019 RTW column gown which features short voluminous sleeves for Kacey to wear on this red carpet, but then I really thought about what an amazing moment this would be on Nicole and from there on out I was sold on the idea. A romantic updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of white Christian Louboutin ‘Et Voici Et Voila’ lace and satin sandals, and statement vintage emerald and diamond Bulgari drop earrings all would ensure this look is the perfect messing of modern and classic glamour.
