2019 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

As I said earlier this year I am super excited for Oscar night. From the stars already confirmed to attend the main show to the red carpet regulars at the viewing and after parties I have high expectations for what everyone will wear. I would typically do wishes for parties after my main ceremony wishes for every other event, but the Oscars. Because the Oscars happen in the middle of fashion moth I always try to push out my wishes for the main ceremony as long as I can. So here we are with all my wishes for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.Allison Williams was everywhere last awards season because she stared in Get Out. We haven’t seen her this awards season so far, but she is usually a frequent face at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party so I wanted to put a wish into the universe. I always love seeing her on the red carpet and she can have some fun with fashion so I wanted to pick a more fun gown for her to wear on this red carpet since she would just be there to have a good time. I saw this blood orange and purple Armani Prive Spring 2019 Couture strapless column gown which features fringe details, sparkling sequin fabrication, intricate floral embroidery, and a midi length and thought it would be a really fun look for Allison to party the night away at the Vanity Fair Oscar party wearing. Sometimes stars who don’t go to the main show bring out big ball gowns and long dramatic trains for this red carpet, and I usually love it, but I definitely think that this look is a perfect party look and would be styled perfectly with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, soft rose pink lips, an orange satin Prada box clutch, gold Rene Caovilla crystal embellished sandals, and a pair of citrine and diamond Boucheron teardrop pendant earrings. Diane Kruger is another frequent flier on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet. I would not complain if she does make an appearance. She is always one of my favorite stars to see on the red carpet and I would get excited about whatever she wore. She has given us everything from sexy cocktail to pants gowns to flapper glam and more on this red carpet in the past. For this years red carpet I wanted to have Diane give dramatic glamour wearing this pink, green, and grey Valentino Spring 2019 Couture cocktail dress which features a strapless straight neckline, bow sleeves, trapeze silhouette, and bubble hem. I loved this dress on the runway and was wondering who could really make it work off the runway. It is definitely a gown that could overwhelm most, but I know Diane has the presence to make this a bold effortless moment on this red carpet. Pair it with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, matching pink lips, an rose pink velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Grace’ drawstring (or well chain) evening bag, a pair of lipstick pink satin Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Alina Bow’ sandals, and rose gold set Anita Ko ‘Snowflake’ cluster earrings would ensure this look is head to toe glam. Jennifer Hudson will be performing her Oscar nominated song “I’ll Fight” from the documentary RBG at the main ceremony and so I am sure that she will do some sort of quick change from the ceremony into something else for the Vanity Fair after-party. I haven’t been blown away by JHud in a long time and I really want to see her deliver something amazing on the Oscar night red carpets. I decided to go for drama in black with this Tony Ward Spring 2019 Couture one shoulder column gown which ruffle details from the shoulder down the side split and a dramatic tulle train for her to wear for the Vanity Fair party. I decided that since I have been craving real drama from Jennifer that I would keep the drama alive with this dramatic trained gown. It doesn’t have to be fully sequined, feather embellished, or a big ball gown to have high impact and I definitely think that Jennifer could sell this gown to me especially with a sleek high bun, smokey eyes, fuchsia pink lips, a pair of black Alexandre Vauthier ‘Carla’ crystal embellished satin sandals, and Niwika diamonds including a pair of ‘Umeutage’ collection fringe drop earrings and a statement ‘Umeutage’ collection cuff bracelet. Lea Michele is one of the co-hosts of the annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and I can almost guarantee that she will be on the red carpet next Sunday. I have a hard time picking the right looks for Lea because I never know what level of designer she is planning to bring to the red carpet. I’m just praying that whatever she wears that it is a million times better than the terrible prison orange Alex Perry ball gown she wore for the WB/InStyle Golden Globe Awards after-party. I think that Lea would be a perfect person to bring Marchesa back to Oscar night wearing this lavender Marchesa Spring 2019 RTW column gown which features many flirtatious ruffles, a plunging neckline, and intricate embroidery. Lea used to wear a lot of Marchesa on the red carpet and I definitely think that the brands uber feminine looks suit her and I think that this gown is just dramatic enough for the Elton John party red carpet. Add a romantic updo, soft smokey eyes, rose pink lips, soft gold glitter Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind’ crystal sphere sandals, and a pair of amethyst, diamond, and chalcedonies Fernando Jorge ‘Calypso’ cluster earrings. Rounding out this list is the GORGEOUS Regina King. I am expecting Regina to take home the Best Supporting Actress trophy earlier in the night for her performance in If Beale Street Could Talk, and so I wanted to make sure that her after party look was incredibly chic and elegant. I planning some sort of really dramatic gown for her to wear for the main ceremony (still totally nailing down the look I am going to use) so I wanted to do something a lot simpler for her to wear on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party. I decided to take last years Best Supporting Actress Allison Janney as inspiration and pick the same designer she rocked for the VF party for Regina too. Maybe it could be come a tradition for Best Supporting winners? I went for simple chic glamour with this black Brandon Maxwell Pre-Fall 2019 knotted one shoulder gown which features a sheath silhouette. I think that this gown would flatter all of Regina’s curves and I definitely believe that she would look really chic. Now I can hear people saying that this isn’t a ‘winners gown.’ I would tend to agree, but with the right styling and that little gold man in her hands I know it would be the perfect moment. In addition to the Oscar I would love to see Regina style this gown with a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Lane’ sandals, a sleek bob, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of statement David Webb ‘Triple Pagoda’ black enamel, yellow gold, emerald, and diamond drop earrings, and a just as statement making David Webb ‘Continental’ yellow gold set emerald and diamond cuff bracelet.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and the Vanity Fair Oscar Party will take place on Sunday February 24, 2019.
