2019 BRIT Awards Red Carpet Wish List

I have never gotten to do a wish list for the BRIT Awards before despite the fact that I get very excited about what music stars bring to the red carpet. Last night was the big music red carpet with the Grammy’s, but there are so many major looks that usually come from this red carpet that when I saw the nominees who are expected this year I made the decision to fit it in between my Grammy’s wishes and the kick off of my Oscar party wishes. Ariana Grande ended up having some major creative differences with the producers of the Grammy Awards so she ended up cancelling her performance and didn’t show up at all. I hope that doesn’t happen at the BRIT Awards too. I have been very interested in seeing what Ari would bring to the red carpet this year after I really loved the lilac Siriano dress and matching boots that she wore for the Billboard Women In Music event that she ended her 2018 in. I have this feeling in my soul that this will finally be the year that I fall in love with what Ariana is going to bring to the red carpet. Honestly I am still wanting to see her wearing the hot pink Ashi Studio gown I had put in my Grammy’s wishes prior to her diva tantrum, but I did opt for a new look for this wish list. She loves a glamorous very girly moment on the red carpet so when I saw this soft pink Elie Saab Spring 2019 Couture strapless gown which features a 3D floral embellished bodice, a flowing pleated pieces skirt with slit vents I thought it was the perfect look for her to wear on this red carpet. I am going back and forth though on whether I want to see her wearing the matching cape the gown was paired with on the runway. Would it work? I’m not sure. I’m leading towards no. Add a pair of gold Rene Caovilla crystal embellished snake coil sandals, a sleek high bun, defined eyes, soft pink lips, and Ruwaya ‘Pink Dancing Doll’ sliced pink sapphire and diamond chandelier earrings and I know that this look would really make this gown absolute perfection for Ariana, Camila Cabello has never wowed me on the red carpet and honestly I have given up hope for her. She has this very quinceanera princess style. I want to see Camila, who is nominated for International Female Solo Artist, take to the red carpet wearing this black and red Azzaro Spring 2019 Couture strapless jumpsuit which features a heart print and a belted waist. It seems to fit right into Camila’s sense of style, but elevates it just a little bit. Her big curls over one shoulder, smokey eyes, red lips, a red crystal embellished Judith Leiber Couture ‘Heart’ clutch, simple black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pointed toe pumps, and statement Butani diamond and ruby floral drop earrings would make this one of Camila’s better red carpet moments. Cardi B knows how to serve some major moments and I am really excited to see what she will wear for the BRIT Awards where she has a nomination like Camila for International Female Artist. She is a big Dolce & Gabbana fan and could easily rock a look from the controversial brand on this red carpet, but since this is now a D&G free zone I have decided to continue to expand Cardi’s designer repertoire with this fuchsia pink Ralph & Russo Spring 2019 Couture taffeta fishtail gown which features a strapless heart shaped neckline, bow back detail, and a tiered flamenco mermaid hem. This gown is definitely more of a risk for Cardi. I did go back and forth about whether or not she would have the height to make this gown work, but ultimately I decided she does. A bold braided updo, thick winged eyes, matching pink lips, long matching pink talon nails, a pair of the now iconic hot pink satin Balenciaga crystal embellished pointed toe pumps, and a selection of major Jacob & Co. high jewelry diamonds including simple art deco drop earrings, a statement collar necklace, and an asscher cut cuff bracelet would all ensure that Cardi continues to shut down the red carpets. It was last year at the BRIT Awards that I learned who Dua Lipa was when she kicked off the night in a dramatic pink ruffled Giambattista Valli Couture gown. It was a contender right up unto the end for a spot on my Best Dressed of the Year list. She also rocked Versace and Armani Prive that night and it all cemented her as one to watch. Last night at the Grammy Awards Dua Lipa rocked Atelier Versace and I absolutely loved the old Hollywood meets mermaid vibes that she delivered. So since she really wowed in Atelier Versace last night I decided that I would pick another look from the label for her to wear next week at the BRIT Awards. I decided to go short, but dramatic with this rose gold colored Atelier Versace Spring 2019 Couture ‘Pauline’ mini dress which features a dramatic ruffled wing bodice/shoulder/neckline and an intricately embellished mini skirt. The Grammy’s was more of a dramatic red carpet, but the BRIT Awards can be seen as a little more laid back. I definitely think that Dua could shut the red carpet down in this dress especially if paired with a sleek updo, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, and a pair of dusty rose pink velvet Charlotte Olympia platform strappy sandals.I used to love Florence Welch on the red carpet, but honestly it has been a real hot second since I have fallen in love with one of her red carpet moments. She has been indebted to Gucci since she was the face of one of the brands perfumes. I did however decide to step away from Gucci for the perfect look for her to wear for the BRIT Awards. I saw this antique gold Chanel Pre-Fall 2019 gown which features an intricately beaded collar, tiered ruffle long sleeveless, and a sheer pleated fishtail hem and it just clicked. It fits Florence’s more avant garde take on bohemian style and I definitely think that she would easily sell this gown to me on the red carpet. She would let the gown do the talking adding a romantic updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, black Chanel pearl embellished strappy sandals, and a pair of chic Irene Neuwirth south sea pearl gumball lollipop earrings. Pink just changed up her stylists to work with my favorite lady Karla Welch. I think that this is a match made in heaven. Karla knows how to do rock and roll glam and I know that as the collaborations continue to make Pink really a fashion icon in addition to being a music icon. I would love to see her step onto the BRIT Awards red carpet, where she will be the first non-British artist to be honored with Outstanding Contribution to Music, wearing this red and electric blue mixed print Armani Prive Spring 2019 Couture suit. I mentioned in my BAFTA Awards wishes that I wasn’t totally sold on this collection when it came down the runway. The repetitive red and blue color scheme was very jarring, but I am loving seeing it on the red carpet. I definitely thing that this suit fits Pink’s edgy glam vibe, but elevates it to a point we haven’t seen from her in the past. I would keep the look sans shirt adding a punky coif, kohl rimmed eyes, red lips, metallic red Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pointed toe pumps, and a pair of Atelier Swarovski ‘Mosaic’ lab created diamond drop earrings to really ensure that Pink WOW’s me on this red carpet.

The 2019 BRIT Awards will take place on Wednesday February 20, 2019.
