The Grammy Awards are this weekend and I have a whole metric fuck ton of wishes to make. I am seriously excited to see what everyone will bring to this red carpet. I usually expect by now to have several looks I would typically see on my Best Dressed of the Year list, but honestly there are very few who I think have what it takes to go all the way. A Grammy’s look has never actually made the list, but it definitely could. That is why I want the music stars best and brightest bring their a-game this weekend. I always say that Ariana Grande is my guilty pleasure when it comes to music. I do tend to find her a little annoying, but “7 Rings” is one of my main jams right now. She is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album this weekend and I really want to see her sell a big bold gown to me on this red carpet. She loves sickly sweet looks on the red carpet so it was an easy choice for me to pick this bubblegum pink Ashi Studio Spring 2019 Couture high low gown which features a plunging sweetheart neckline, bubble hem, and a full ball skirt. I won’t lie Ari was the first person I thought of when I saw this gown come down the very intimate runway while watching the show on Instagram Live. I really does seem to tick all the boxes she loves. She has been loving a thigh high boot, but honestly I don’t want that from her with this gown on this red carpet. Instead I would add a pair of matching pink Alchimia di Ballin ‘Maya’ satin crystal embellished sandals. Finishing the look with sleek high bun (NO MORE HIGH PONY’S!!!,) thick winged eyes, rose pink lips, and Messika diamonds including a statement ‘Swinging Paris’ collar necklace and ‘Cassiopee’ ear crawler earrings would make this one of Ariana’s best red carpet moments ever!I have been obsessed with Bebe Rexha for a while and she is nominated for her first Grammy’s this year. She is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her hit collaboration “Meant to Be” with Florida Georgia Line. A few weeks ago Bebe took to Instagram to rant about the fact that many designers weren’t willing to dress her because she is a size 8. Personally I think that is a load of bullshit. She is one of the biggest rising stars and if I were a brand I would be betting on her to succeed. I kept that idea in the back of my head as I searched the runways for the perfect gown for her to wear on Sunday night. Georges Chakra has dressed many curvy women in the past and so when I fell in love with the idea of Bebe wearing this red asymmetrical draped gown from the brands Fall 2018 Couture collection which features a 3-D floral detail on one shoulder, cutout details on the bodice, a black waistband, and a flowing skirt I thought that it would work out perfectly. This gown is definitely the perfect mix of edge and glamour for this red carpet and I think Bebe would own it with incredible confidence. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, red lips, black Saint Laurent ‘Hall’ crystal embellished platform sandals, and Atelier Swarovski by Penelope Cruz ‘Lola’ lab created ruby and diamond drop earrings all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Where has Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino been hiding all awards season? He skipped the Golden Globe and SAG Awards despite his nominations and I wonder if his five Grammy nominations will be enough to get him on the red carpet this weekend? I don’t know. I am missing his signature sense of style on the red carpet though. I did however go for something a little more out there than even he is used to bringing to this red carpet. I got so excited when I saw that the Atelier Versace Spring 2019 Couture collection featured menswear looks! It was not expected! I loved this bold jeweled chain printed tuxedo and I definitely think that Donald could really sell this look to me on the red carpet. It would be a real bold suit that he would style incredibly simply and rock with effortless ease. Kelly Clarkson almost always doesn’t get it right when it comes to her red carpet looks. I find that sad because she has the potential to really deliver some chic moments on the red carpet. I went for simple glamour for the perfect gown for her to wear on Sunday night at the Grammy Awards with this dark pool blue satin Alexandre Vauthier Pre-Fall 2019 gown which features long sleeves, a jewel encrusted belted waist, and a plunging V-neckline. I think that the shape of this gown would accentuate Kelly’s curves incredibly well and I believe it could make for one of her most glamorous red carpets ever. Old Hollywood waves worn over one shoulder, defined eyes, red lips, a royal blue satin Manolo Blahnik ‘Gothisi’ crystal buckle envelope clutch, a pair of two tone blue Manolo Blahnik ‘Chasobic’ sandals, and glamorous Anabela Chan ‘Blue Chandelier’ blue topaz, moonstone cabochons and faceted gemstone drop earrings would all continue to make this a really glamorous moment for Kelly to bring to life on this red carpet. Nicole Kidman doesn’t have to play double duty this year as she isn’t nominated or part of any nominated films at the BAFTA Awards. Usually she ends up skipping the Grammy Awards because she is in London for the BAFTA’s. So this year I am really hoping that she will support her nominated hubby Keith Urban with a really chic look on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. I decided to go a little outside of what I typically pick for Nicole with this black Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2019 sequin embroidered jumpsuit which features a notch lapel with a v-neckline and a wide leg. I don’t think I have ever seen Nicole wear a jumpsuit, but I feel like if any red carpet could get her to do it wit would be the Grammy Awards. I would finish the look with sleek center parted hair, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of black lace Gianvito Rossi ‘Liliane’ pointed toe pumps, and a pair of antique Fred Leighton rose cut diamond chandelier earrings to really make this an incredibly chic moment for Nicole. Finishing out today is Taylor Swift who only hold one nomination this year for Best Pop Vocal Album. She has always given me amazing moments on the Grammy Awards red carpet in the past and I am very interested in seeing what this ‘new Taylor’ would do on this red carpet. I think I found a perfect mix of the old school Taylor glam and edgy Reputation album Taylor with this dark navy blue Elie Saab Spring 2019 Couture column gown which features an asymmetrical neckline, defined waist, faux wrap style skirt, dramatic thigh high split, and a chic train. We haven’t seen Taylor wear a gown on the red carpet in a long time and I definitely think that this would be the perfect one for her to wear for a big red carpet like the Grammy Awards. I would finish the look with a sleek updo, smokey eyes, bold red lips, a pair of silver Aquazzura ‘Shine’ embellished PVC and metallic leather t-strap sandals, and a selection of Nikos Koulis jewels including diamond fringe and black enamel art deco inspired ‘Oui’ earrings, a ‘V’ collection diamond and sapphire cocktail ring, and a black enamel ‘Medusa’ snake cocktail ring. All of that would really make this an absolutely amazing moment for Taylor to rock on the Grammy Awards red carpet.
The 2019 Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday February 10, 2019.
