There might be a lot of movies screening at this years Berlin Film Festival, but there isn’t as much a-list Hollywood talent in the films. But when it comes to the big stars that do have films they all get me very excited about what they might bring to the red carpet. Tilda Swinton stars in The Souvenir and as regular readers will know I LOVE me a Swinton sighting on the red carpet. I love her love of bold color and androgyny. She has rocked Chanel ready-to-wear, Chanel Couture, Schiaparelli, Haider Ackermann, and Roland Mouret on the red carpets at the festival over the years. So I am really excited to see what she will deliver on the red carpets this year. Tilda is the only other person aside from Diane Kruger whom I decided to do wishes for both a photocall and premiere. I saw this dark olive green AMI Fall 2019 coat and matching pants paired with a shiny peridot green silk button down come down the runway and I immediately thought of Tilda. If I hadn’t seen this look before I put this list together I don’t know if I would have picked a photocall look for Tilda, but this look is perfect for her. I would totally expect it from her and I know I would love it especially with simple makeup, signature coif, and a pair of army green Pierre Hardy chunky curved heel sling black suede pointed toe pumps. I also picked a hot off the look for Tilda to wear on the red carpet at the premiere of the movie. I adore this black Giambattista Valli Spring 2019 Couture long sleeve shift gown which features a high neck and a baroque painting printed and it was another immediate thought to Tilda. She would definitely make this the regal moment I know it could be on this red carpet and with that signature coif, defined eyes, dark burgundy lips, a pair of black Aquazzura ‘Sharon’ pointed toe pumps, and vintage Van Cleef & Arpels gold set diamond cluster earrings. I really loved the Schiaparelli Spring 2019 Couture collection and I cannot wait to see it on the red carpet. I definitely think that this years jury president Juliette Binoche should snatch up this black column gown which features white draped cap sleeves from that collection right off the runway for her time at the festival. On the runway the gown has two crystal beaded star broaches on the neckline, that I would leave at home. They do add something different to the look, but I don’t think they are very Juliette. Instead I would add some sparkle via some diamond and emerald Chopard Red Carpet Collection pendant drop earrings. Finish the look with a pair of black velvet Alexandre Vauthier ‘Vivian’ bow detail pumps, a sleek updo, smokey eyes, and nude glossy lips.
The 2019 Berlin Film Festival opens on Thursday February 7, 2019 and runs through Sunday February 17, 2019.
