“Alita: Battle Angel” London Premiere

Before I dive into my SAG Awards wishes tomorrow there are two more movies who have premieres scheduled that I want to make sure get wishes out for. Early in the year, meaning January and early February, is usually light on movie premieres but Alita: Battle Angel is poised to be released on Valentines Day next month and ahead of the release the cast is expected to jet to London for the films red carpet premiere on Thursday January 31, 2019. There are three levels of style stars in the ranks of this cast. An established fashionista, a Hollywood ‘It’ girl, and a rising star and I am really excited to see what each of them is planning to bring to this red carpet. Alita the Battle Angel herself Rose Salazar is the rising star in this cast and and I am very interested in seeing what she will bring to this tour, where she would be considered the headliner. I have no idea what stylist Rose is working with for this tour, but I want to see her bring dramatic glamour to the red carpet when she steps out for this premiere. I think that she would deliver just that wearing this dark red and black Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture draped gown which features and off the shoulder wide v-neckline,  3D applique detail on the waist, a flowing a-line skirt, and a side split. This gown is glamour defined and I definitely think that the color on Rose would just exude even more glamour. A sleek updo, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a pair of black lace Christian Louboutin ‘Josephine’ lace up ankle cuff pumps, and Butani diamond cluster earrings all would ensure this look is the definition of glamour, head to toe. Eiza Gonzalez is the Hollywood ‘It’ girl. I was really disappointed with the fact that she skipped pretty much the whole tour for Welcome to Marwen. The movie might have flopped, but I think that Eiza should have still been out to support and promote her film. I hope she doesn’t stay in hiding while the tour for Alita: Battle Angel ensues. I went for edgy glamour inspired by more of a warrior moment with this black and gold Celia Kirtharioti Fall 2018 Couture column gown which features a gold chain main bodice with a v-neckline and gold draped fringe and a black column skirt. Is this an obvious choice designer wise for Eiza? No. Typically we see her in big labels like Ralph Lauren, Dior, or Carolina Herrera but I definitely think that she would easily be able to sell this gown to me on the red carpet at the London premiere of the film. Add a sleek updo, smokey eyes, soft antique rose pink lips, a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sophie’ slingback sandals, and simple Hanut Singh white sapphire, oxblood red enamel, & diamond chandelier earrings and this would definitely be a major moment for the young actress to deliver on this red carpet. Jennifer Connelly hasn’t taken a break from wearing Louis Vuitton on the red carpet in at least two years so it would surprise me if that changed with the premiere of Alita: Battle Angel. She is the established fashionista and I used to love Jennifer because she would deliver dramatic moments from some of the biggest couture houses, but since she signed her Louis Vuitton contract that has been pushed to the wayside. Typically we see Jennifer opt for head to toe runway looks, but I want to see that change for this premiere. I would love to see her take this Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 collection ensemble which features a lavender feather cape and a black plastic fringe mini dress and ask creative director Nicholas Ghesquiere to turn it into a column gown. Could she rock the cocktail dress and cape? Definitely, in fact I would say that is the likely case, but I would really love to see her wearing this as a gown especially when paired with a sleek bun, smokey eyes, nude pink lips, large diamond stud earrings and a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Call Back’ monogrammed ankle strap sandals.

The London premiere of Alita: Battle Angel is expected Thursday January 31, 2019.
