I am super far behind on my wishes for tomorrow nights Critics Choice Awards. So with that being said I don’t want to rehash the same ideas that I have written in the headers for the last eight posts and just get right into my wishes. Elizabeth Debicki is part of the cast of nominated ensemble cast of Widows and I am actually quite interested in seeing what she would wear on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards. I don’t know if we will actually see her on the red carpet though. I’m not exactly sure that Widows will win this award and it is the only category that the cast is nominated in. If she does I would love to see her bring this visual gem printed Givenchy Spring 2019 RTW cap sleeve pleated gown which features a crew neck, loose fit, and a crystal cap sleeve cape to life. It is more of a visual gown than we are used to seeing from Elizabeth, but I definitely think that it is such a major moment that I believe that Elizabeth with her statuesque elegance would be able to carry this gown off with ease. A chic coif, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Saint Laurent ‘Hall’ crystal embellished platform sandals all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Emma Stone is a face of Louis Vuitton and of the looks that she wore during Golden Globes week were predominately from the French heritage house. More often than not Emma doesn’t step out from that Louis Vuitton box that she signed herself into, but when she does it is often wearing Givenchy. I would think that since most LV ambassadors who have made an Oscar run have stepped onto the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards not wearing the brand that this would be one the perfect opportunities to see Emma do that too. I looked at all kinds of current Claire Waight Keller designed looks from recent Givenchy collections but to be honest nothing was clicking for me. I decided to drop into 1stDibs.com and see if there was anything major in the vintage department from Givenchy that I thought would be perfect for the Critics Choice Awards. Enter this peach orange 1960’s Givenchy Haute Couture silk asymmetrically draped one shoulder tea length gown. I saw this gown and it was love at first sight. I pictured this pinky orange color against Emma’s pale pink complexion with her flame red hair and I was instantaneously sold on the idea. Part of me feels like this gown is too good for someone who has sold their soul to Louis Vuitton, but I just couldn’t shake the idea from my mind. It would be one of my favorite Emma Stone red carpet moments ever, especially if she pairs the gown with a sleek updo, smokey orange eyes, a gold Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ clutch, strappy gold Christian Louboutin ‘Maratena’ metallic and PVC sandals, and a pair of mandarin garnet, ruby, and diamond IVY New York ear clips. I feel like it has been a hot minute since we have seen Issa Rae on the red carpet. She has been someone I have loved seeing on the red carpet since she first burst onto the scene about two years ago and I would love to see her on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night. I decided that while I usually go for bold color and pattern moments that I wanted to see Issa deliver this white C.D. Greene halter gown which features a scoop neckline, fitted silhouette, and gold mirror embellishments. I love the sleek and modern take on take on glamour that this gown delivers and I really do believe that Issa easily sell this look to me with a high braided bun, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a pair of gold Giuseppe Zanotti x Christian Cowan ‘Watch’ ankle wrap heelless wedges, and 18k yellow gold and diamond pave Marco Bicego ‘Siviglia’ drop earrings. I always get excited when I see that Maggie Gyllenhaal is nominated for an award because I love her style. She is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in The Deuce and I want to see her bring this grey Atelier Versace Fall 2018 Couture ‘Giuditta’ halter gown which features an gold beaded neckline, a mermaid silhouette, and intricate cutouts and embellishments all over to life on the red carpet tomorrow night. Maggie has never had a major Versace moment on the red carpet. The brand’s uber sex appeal doesn’t usually vibe with Maggie’s more bohemian style, but I feel like this dress is perfect for her. It has a bit of that bohemian vibe, but does it in a structured and glamorous manner that I just think that Maggie would absolutely deliver this gown on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, rose pink lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Oscar’ metallic leather sandals, and a selection of vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewels including small gold and diamond chandelier earrings and a gold and jade cocktail ring would all add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Regina King is still my favorite to take home an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category at the Oscars and I have a feeling tomorrow nights Critics Choice Awards will just be another stop on the road to that little gold man. I have been LOVING what Regina has been selling to us on the red carpet as of late and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the Critics Choice Awards. I have been waiting for the right red carpet to make the wish of seeing Regina wearing this red Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2019 tailored crepe gown which features an off-the-shoulder silhouette, a full length skirt, its fluid shape is detailed with a high slit along the skirt ,and knotted ruched detailing along the waist and it was easy for me to pick it for the Critics Choice Awards. This is one of the more laid back red carpets of awards season and I think that this gown has just enough glamour to be perfect for a winner to deliver on the red carpet. Add a romantic bob, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of red Giuseppe Zanotti ankle wrap patent leather platform sandals, and Adler ‘Red Sunset‘ ruby and diamond asymmetrical earrings and this a truly swoon worthy moment.
The 2019 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday January 13, 2019.
