2019 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 5

The 2019 Critics Choice Awards are just four days away and currently stars are racking up their airline miles as they get around the country and the world to different awards events. Many stars were in LA on Sunday for the Golden Globe Awards and following those parties they jumped on airplanes and flew to New York for the New York Film Critics Circle and National Board of Review Awards gala. They will be back in LA on Sunday for the Critics Choice Awards. So far this awards season I am really feeling that we are going to have a major year based on stars looks so far this year. Who will be on the red carpet on Sunday and what level of glamour and drama will they bring. While I have come to the assumption that Blake Lively makes terrible movies she brings lots of glamour to the red carpet. She is usually a perfect plus one when supporting her hubby Ryan Reynolds is promoting a film or nominated and since he has a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Movie and I am hoping that the pair will jet from their home in NYC to LA for this Sunday’s red carpet. I am hoping that Blake will give us her first gown moment on the red carpet since May of last year on this red carpet wearing this chic gold beaded Oscar de la Renta Spring 2019 RTW strapless column gown which features a silk lining and a thigh high split. I know that this bombshell gown would be something Blake would own and with her sexy glamour I know it would be perfection. Old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, red lips, a gold crystal Judith Leiber Couture ‘Gold Brick’ box clutch, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Maratena’ metallic leather and PVC strappy sandals, and gold Ofira ‘Diamond Jingle’ hoop earrings all would ensure this look is that bombshell glamour from head to toe. Chadwick Boseman skipped the Golden Globe Awards red carpet on Sunday and just snuck in the back door to present with his Black Panther co-stars. It was a shame because his custom crystal embellished Versace white tuxedo was definitely one of the more statement menswear moments of the night. I went from that bright sparkling moment to something a little more classic, but still has a bold twist and that is what I think I found with this black SSS World Cup Spring 2019 Menswear double breasted suit which is paired with a tangerine and lime psychedelic print button up shirt. This simple suit with the shirt that packs a punch is very much in tune with the more laid back vibe of the Critics Choice Awards. I want to see major things from Chadwick this awards season and I think this suit paired with black Prada ‘Spazzolato Hybrid’ oxford sneakers that this look would just be another great menswear moment from him. When it comes to Laura Dern I either love what she wears or I scratch my head. There really isn’t much of an in-between there. I wasn’t a big fan of the red Valentino gown she wore for the Golden Globe Awards, and I am hoping that she will be on top form this Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards. I went for a bohemian take on glamour for Laura opting for this metallic sand colored Chloe Spring 2019 RTW pleated sleeveless column gown which features a plunging neckline, peplum waist, and cape details. The color I think would almost match Laura’s skin tone so I want to see everything within this look done just perfectly so that it doesn’t come across as just a nude sack. I think that with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, dark rose pink lips, a pair of, nude Christian Louboutin ‘World Copine’ asymmetrical strappy patent leather sandals, and a statement Bulgari High Jewelry ‘New York Collection’ coral, lapis, and diamond collar necklace would add those perfect finishing touches to this ensemble. Rachel Brosnahan was among some of my favorites on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet this past Sunday wearing a simple custom bright yellow Prada gown. She won big at the Globes and I am expecting that she will take home another trophy for her performance in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel this coming Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards. As I have said the vibe of this red carpet is a little more laid back, perhaps the most laid back of the televised awards season events, and so with that in mind I went for a simple silhouette with this flamingo pink Escada Spring 2019 velvet burnout slip style gown. I have loved this gown since it came down the New York Fashion Week grass covered runway back in September of last year, but I just haven’t had a feeling of right girl and right event pairing. That changed when I saw it when I was searching for the perfect gown for Rachel to wear on this red carpet. I would keep the styling very glam with a sleek updo, soft smokey eyes, light pink glossy lips, a pair of dark raspberry satin Sophia Webster ‘Rosalind Crystal’ sandals with an ombre crystal heel, and a pair of modern art deco Tiffany & Co. diamond and pink ruby drop earrings. Timothee Chalamet gave sex icon edge on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet wearing all black Louis Vuitton including a beaded harness (that the brand has labeled a ‘bib’) and I did really like it. I will say that I almost wish that he had worn a patterned Louis Vuitton blazer with it, but it was cool. He also could have easily saved this look for the Critics Choice Award where it wouldn’t have had fashion critics wishing for more. So while he went down that paired back route for the Globes I want to see him bring the glam to the recd carpet on Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards. I have been waiting to see this black Alexander McQueen Spring 2019 RTW two button suit which is emblazoned with a red embroidered fringe detail across the notch lapel blazer. I think that how the look was presented on the runway with the white shirt worn buttoned all the way up sans tie and the metal toe cap pointed toe boots are all details that I would keep to really ensure this is that bold statement menswear moment that I’m always craving from Timothee.

The 2019 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday January 13, 2019.
