2019 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

So many wishes for awards season red carpets so little time. Sunday night is the 2019 Critics Choice Awards which is one of the more casual red carpets of awards season. It can see a wide variation of looks from cocktail dresses to jumpsuits to couture gowns. Stars have been serving amazing looks over the first 7 days of the year already and I can already tell that editing the Best Dressed of 2019 list is going to be difficult. I have never put a look from the Critics Choice Awards on my Best Dressed of the Year list, but I would never say never. If someone really delivered a jaw dropping moment I wouldn’t hesitate. I was shocked on Sunday night that Amy Adams lost in both categories that she was nominated in at the Golden Globe Awards. I thought that she was for sure a lock to win the Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries category for Sharp Objects and she as definitely one of the front-runners for the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture award for VICE. It does seem like the Golden Globe Awards aren’t going to predict how the rest of awards season will go though. So I want Amy to definitely be on her top form heading into the rest of Awards season. I picked this ivory Tom Ford belted cady gown which features long sleeves, a square neck, column skirt, and a split at the back before Amy wore the custom Calvin Klein by Appointment gown at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. As I was writing I started to think that these two gowns are probably too similar for Amy to wear on basically back to back red carpets. I do think that this ivory gown would look absolutely fantastic in this gown and it is by one of her go to labels. I think that with sleek low bun, defined eyes, red lips, a blush pink satin Roger Vivier ‘Trianon’ crystal buckle fringe trimmed clutch, mixed metallic Tom Ford padlock sandals, and a vintage Cartier 18k gold set diamond and turquoise collar necklace would all make this a stand out statement moment. Darren Criss took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Limited series for his role as Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Will he be able to make it back to back wins? I sure hope so. I also hope he continues to serve major looks on the red carpet. I lusted over his black and white floral print Dior Man custom tuxedo at the Golden Globe Awards and I decided to keep the bit of extra for Sunday nights red carpet too. I would love to see Darren rock a Versace look over the course of the awards season run for the show. I know that Donatella Versace wasn’t thrilled with the portrayal of her late brother. So even major Versace devotee Penelope Cruz hasn’t worn as much Versace on the red carpet since the show has aired. I still want to see those moments though. I want to see Darren step onto the red carpet on Sunday night wearing this black Versace Pre-Fall 2019 suit which was features a notch lapel blazer embellished with the houses signature safety pin details. I love the subtle embellishments I think they elevate the look and with a crisp white shirt, a black bow tie, much more fitted pants, and a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘X’ patent leather formal loafers I know that Darren would have another really chic menswear moment on this red carpet.Julia Roberts brought a pants gown in custom Stella McCartney to the red carpet on Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards and ended up in the #3 spot on my best dressed list. She might not have won a Globe, but she definitely won the fashion game. I loved that step out of her comfort zone, but I am praying we see some bold color from Julia soon. This raspberry pink, aqua blue, and royal purple Ralph & Russo Fall 2018 Couture silk double satin jumpsuit which features a draped plunging neckline and open trousers, embellished with jeweled buttons and finished with a crystal brooch was the first thing I thought of for Julia to wear on this red carpet. I didn’t even have to look through looks to find the right one I knew that this is exactly what I want to see from Julia on Sunday night. There was a long time where she stuck to just black, white, and nude but since she has been wearing bright color more often lately I think that this jumpsuit is perfect for her to wear for the Critics Choice Awards. A sleek ponytail, defined eyes, pink lips, a hot pink lizard leather Edie Parker ‘Jean’ framed box clutch, and a pair of matching pink Aquazzura ‘Coquette’ velvet and satin platform sandals would all ensure this look is head to toe perfection. Olivia Colman has continued to stick to her contingent of British designers for her red carpet appearances this awards season. She has yet to wear Alexander McQueen on the red carpet though. I’m a little surprised at that and I do think that will change soon. Sunday night at the Critics Choice Awards seems like a perfect place. I think she would look ever so chic wearing this navy Alexander McQueen long sleeved gown which features a fit to flare silhouette, a v-neckline, and intricate silver beading. She tends to pick very high neckline looks and so that is something that makes me wonder if she would wear this gown, but even if McQueen custom made a gown that brought the neckline up into a jewel neckline adding more beading in the place I would still be in love with this look. A black Alexander McQueen ‘Queen and King’ kiss lock clutch, romantic updo, smokey eyes, pale pink lips, a pair of black Alexander McQueen crystal embroidered sandals, and a pair of dazzling Fred Leighton diamond and pearl chandelier earrings would all make this the most dazzling moment that Olivia has worn all awards season so far. Patricia Clarkson WON the Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries at the Globes on Sunday and did so wearing one of the boldest gowns of the night, a bold orange Georges Chakra Couture. I love that she is unafraid of being bold or sexy. Both are things that ‘society’ says need to fall to the wayside as you age. She is the perfect example of why that doesn’t have to be the case. I want to see her give even more sexy glamour this coming Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards where her role in Sharp Objects has earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series wearing this red Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2019 off the shoulder sequin and pearl embellished tulle gown which features  a sheer yolk covering the wide v-neckline, long sleeves, and a straight silhouette. This gown is absolutely sexy and glamorous and I absolutely know that Patty would shut the red carpet down in this gown especially when paired with glamorous waves, smokey eyes, red lips, red Jimmy Choo ‘Vanessa’ pumps, and a pair of simple yet dazzling Butani diamond and ruby drop earrings.

The 2019 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Sunday January 13, 2019.
