Alright I have 18 more wishes, over 3 lists, that I have for tomorrow nights red carpet. It is basically all presenters at this point. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association hasn’t sent out a tweet with presenter names in about 22 hours now. So I think we have a good idea now just who will be on the red carpet tomorrow night and I am super excited. Last years Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture winner Allison Janney, as is customary, will be on hand tomorrow night as a presenter. She will most likely hand out the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture award this year. It was over the course of awards season last year that I really fell in love with Allison’s style. She came really close to making my Best Dressed of the Year list. In fact had I made the list 20 looks instead of just 10 I would say that she would have made the list. I want to see a really glamorous moment from her when she steps out tomorrow night. I went for a simple silhouette with a bold color picking this red Michael Cinco Fall 2018 Couture column gown which features a v-neck thick straps, hourglass shape, and intricate beaded embellishments. I think that these simpler silhouettes flatter Allison’s tall stature and since she is just a presenter I don’t think she needs a whole lot of drama for this red carpet. The color alone adds enough. A sleek updo, defined smokey eyes, nude lips, a red velvet Tyler Ellis ‘Perry’ clutch, a pair of red Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ sandals, and statement Butani diamond and ruby drop earrings all would ensure that Allison continues to prove why I love her sense of style. Jessica Chastain is always a favorite of mine to see on the red carpet so I got really excited when she was the first presenter announced for this years Golden Globe Awards. Typically when I am creating a look for a star in my mind I like to start with a gown, but in Jessica’s case I decided to start with the jewelry. She is a face of Piaget High Jewelry so I knew that I wanted to scour the brands website and archive photos of pieces they have created for the perfect piece for Jessica to wear on this red carpet. I found a stunning statement Piaget ‘Sunlight Journey’ necklace made up of white and yellow diamonds and rubies. It gives this sunburst effect on the neck and I thought the colors would compliment Jessica’s fire red locks. So from there I started the search for the perfect gown to compliment that necklace. I looked at nude, yellow, red, and gold and ultimately decided upon gold digging into the Armani Prive archives and finding this strapless fully beaded Armani Prive Fall 2010 Couture gown which features an attached cape like train and a mermaid silhouette. I have been in LOVE with this gown for years and it still shocks me that eight years after it was presented that we haven’t seen anyone wearing this gown on a red carpet. I definitely think that Jessica could make it work. Is it more dramatic than anything Jessica has worn on this red carpet in the past? Definitely, but I do believe that she would be able to make it work especially when paired with a sleek vintage inspired updo, red lips, defined eyes, and simple gold Aquazzura ‘Purist’ sandals. The Big Bang Theory’s final season might not have garnered any Golden Globe ward nominations but the cast is still going to be attending the event as presenters. Kaley Cuoco is one that I go back and forth with in terms of liking her red carpet looks. Sometimes she takes risks that don’t pay off and oftentimes she opts for much simpler styles. So for tomorrow’s red carpet I wanted to go for more of a risk, but one I think could pay off opting for this nude tulle Vera Wang Fall 2019 Bridal collection gown which features a criss-cross pleated tulle halter, golden lace corseted bustier, and an a-line skirt and a long train. I personally think that the train for Kaley might be too long and would have the Vera Wang team cut it down so it is just a short sweeping train instead of that long one. I could also see Kaley’s stylist Brad Goreski asking Vera if this gown could be custom made in black or pink. I think that if Kaley kept her blonde locks up in a romantic updo, smokey eyes, nude lips, a pale gold glitter Jimmy Choo ‘J Box’ clutch, champagne crystal embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Lane’ sandals, and a pair of statement pink and white diamond Jaipur Gems dangling diamond studded earrings would all compliment this nude gown as presented. Octavia Spencer almost always wears a Tadashi Shoji gown on the red carpet and so when she was announced as one of the many presenters tomorrow night I immediately turned to the brand to find the perfect gown for her to wear. I went through many options, but ultimately this champagne Tadashi Shoji Spring 2019 RTW off the shoulder gown which features intricate starburst embroidery, a sheer overlay, defined waist, a sweetheart neckline, and an a-line skirt won out. I definitely think that with just the right modifications that this gown would perfect for Octavia. I would widen the straps and move the waist line a little higher just to account for, and compliment, Octavia’s curves. Old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, plum lips, a nude marbled acrylic Edie Parker ‘Jean’ box clutch, gold Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pointed toe pumps, and a selection of L’Dezen by Payal Shah yellow diamond jewels including ‘Petit Karen’ drop earrings and a ‘Jada’ cocktail ring would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Typically the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama winner from the previous year is the one that comes back the following year, but I really didn’t expect Frances McDormand to do that. Instead the Hollywood Foreign Press Association invited the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy winner Saoirse Ronan to present. I have long been a fan of Saoirse’s style and her awards season run last year was one for the record books. I am very excited to see what she will wear tomorrow night. I went back a few seasons to find the perfect look for her opting for this white and silver Chanel Spring 2017 Couture column gown which features silver sequin embroidery on the bodice and hips, a deep plunging neckline, silver belted waist, a feathered pouf at the knees, and a sheer degrade sequin embellished floor length hem. This is one of my favorite Chanel gowns ever and much like that Armani I picked for Jessica I am really shocked that no one has snatched it up for a red carpet yet. Is it the easiest gown to pull off? No, but it does have this modern take on disco glamour about it that I think if styled just right that it would be a real major moment. I would add a sleek updo, smokey eyes, soft pink lips, silver and black Sophia Webster ‘Andie Bow’ sandals, and a pair of diamond and emerald Cartier art deco style pendant drop earrings to really ensure that this look just screams glamour from head to toe. Taraji P. Henson has become a Golden Globes staple over the last several years. I think that this year is the first time that she isn’t nominated or part of a nominated film or show in a long time, but that doesn’t matter because she has been asked to be one of the nights many presenters. Taraji is an ultimate diva. She knows how to bring the drama to any red carpet she steps onto and that is exactly what I wanted to convey in my wish for her tomorrow night. I was looking at couture creations exclusively when I saw this navy Georges Chakra Fall 2014 Couture strapless mermaid gown which features a structured lace bustier bodice and an asymmetrical ruffled hem and I knew it was perfect. I would never pick this gown for someone who was actually there as a nominee or part of the cast of a nominated film, but I do think that as a presenter that Taraji would absolutely shut down the red carpet in this gown. It would showcase her curves beautifully. Add a sleek updo, smokey eyes, crimson red lips, a pair of navy Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pointed toe pumps, and a pair of Nirav Modi ‘Luminance‘ diamond floral drop earrings and I would say that this is a real good contender for a best dressed list worthy moment.
The 2019 Golden Globe Awards will take place tomorrow night Sunday January 6, 2019.
