What? Did you think I was done posting wishes for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards for today? You would be wrong. I wanted to get this halfway point list up before I went on to enjoy the rest of my last day before going back to work tomorrow. We are still in wishes for stars who are nominated, but some of the members of nominated films are sneaking in here too. Since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association hasn’t started to announce presenters yet (what are they waiting for we are just four days out from the event?!) I am definitely going to start putting out wishes for some of the cast members of the nominated films to bring to life on the red carpet on Sunday night. Before I get to cast members though there are also nominees in this list starting with Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture nominee Claire Foy. I have to say I don’t think Claire’s performance was all that spectacular, the film was much more about the visual than the performance. I don’t expect that she will win, but I want to see Claire really bring a chic moment to the red carpet. She gave me an unexpected look last year wearing an oversized Stella McCartney suit on the Globes red carpet and it is one of my favorite looks that Claire has ever worn. I would love to see a chic tea length moment from Claire on this red carpet. Chanel was the first label I thought of for Claire, I definitely think she would make a great Chanel girl. I think she would make a very chic moment wearing this abstract beaded bustier Chanel Fall 2018 Couture strapless tea length gown which features a pleated tiered skirt with side slits. I love the beading on the bodice, I do kind of worry that the skirt of the gown would come across as deflated. Claire doesn’t do a whole lot with looks to breathe life into looks and I want to see Chanel do some sort of modification to the skirt of this gown to ensure that the tiers of this skirt don’t fall flat. A sleek pixie cut, thick defined eyes, soft pink lips, a pair of strappy black satin Roger Vivier ‘Sin Drape Cigarette’ sandals, and vintage Cartier art deco cluster earrings all would really ensure that this look is beautiful. Elsie Fisher is going to be a breakout star this awards season. The 15 year old actress is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in the film Eighth Grade and has already shown her love of pantsuits wearing Thom Brown and Kate Spade for the Academy Governors Awards and the Gotham Independent Film Awards respectively. For Sunday night I honestly think that she will show up on the red carpet wearing a custom gown from either Prada or Miu Miu, but instead of designing a gown myself I went shopping the lookbooks for the look I think she should wear. I went sugary sweet picking this bubblegum pink Monique Lhuillier Spring 2019 RTW tulle ball gown which features a draped strapless bodice with a ruffled neckline, full a-line skirt, and a sweeping train. While I’m usually a little hesitant to put a young actress in a strapless gown I think that this gown does feel very age appropriate for a 15 year old. We often see actresses of this age either made to dress way to young or dress much older than they should. I don’t think that would be the case with this gown. I would keep the gown cavity inducing sweet by adding a blush crystal Sophia Webster ‘Clara’ box clutch, a romantic updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a romantic updo, multi-tone pink Sophia Webster ‘Andie’ bow detail sandals, and a pair of Anabela Chan ‘Butterfly’ lemon quartz drop earrings.Kristen Bell is one who can either deliver a really major moment on the red carpet, or fade into the background. I don’t want her to fade into oblivion on this red carpet. I have a feeling that this years Golden Globe Awards red carpet is going to be stacked with high style stars and I am hoping that will inspire Kristen to really bring out her best. Will the black Marchesa Pre-Fall 2019 one shoulder embroidered velvet gown which features a sculptural one shoulder neckline with silver bugle bead embroidery at illusion tulle cut out, and a thigh high slit detail be a Best Dressed list worthy moment on this red carpet? Probably not, but I definitely think that it would be a very chic moment for Kristen to bring to life on this red carpet. I don’t think it would allow her to fade into the background, but I am expecting so many big moments from the nominees, presenters, and cast members of nominated projects that I know competition for the 10 spots on my Best Dressed list is going to be tough. This black Marchesa gown paired with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a black Judith Leiber Couture art deco box clutch, a pair of strappy black Stuart Weitzman ‘Cersei’ platform sandals, and a pair of Forevermark diamond teardrop chandelier earrings would be a really glamorous moment for Kristen to deliver on this red carpet. Michelle Yeoh is part of the cast of Crazy Rich Asians, which is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy. I would think that the film has a good chance of taking home the trophy so I would think that some of the high profile members of the cast, whom are for the most part not individually nominated, will take to the red carpet to help support the film. I would expect that if Michelle does make the trip out to Hollywood that she will walk this red carpet wearing nothing but couture. She knows how to rock a red carpet and I high high expectations for her. I would love to see her work her magic on this red carpet wearing this blush pink Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture long sleeve column gown which features intricate beaded embroidery and a draped rosette on the shoulder that turns into a cape train. While I would typically pick this gown for someone much taller than Michelle I think that with the right modifications to length and proportions that this would be an absolutely regal moment for the Chinese actress. I don’t think it would take away from the actors and actresses nominated, but definitely wouldn’t allow for Michelle to fade into the background. A blush pink satin Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ embellished bow clasp clutch, gold and sheer tulle Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ glitter heel crystal embellished mesh pumps, a sleek updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, and a pair of simple yellow diamond Chopard chandelier earrings would all add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble. Nicole Kidman has a nomination this year for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Destroyer, which comes on the heels of her win last year for Best Performance by an Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film for Big Little Lies. I am really excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet on Sunday night. She rocks Armani Prive as some of her best looks in the past. I have been waiting to see her rock a red carpet wearing this black and white Armani Prive Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a dramatic asymmetrical structured peplum detail on a column silhouette and crystal trim on the neckline and I think that the Golden Globe Awards red carpet is the perfect place for her to bring it to life. A sleek vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, red lips, black Christian Louboutin ‘T Cab’ crystal embellished strappy sandals, and a selection of Fred Leighton jewels including 1930’s diamond scroll cluster earrings and three art deco diamond and emerald rings would definitely make sure that Nicole delivers a look worth of the top of the Best Dressed list worthy moment. The last wish I have for today is my last wish for a nominee with the beautiful Rachel Weisz, who is nominated with her The Favourite co-star Emma Stone in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for their performances. Rachel missed a portion of the promo tour for The Favourite because she was very pregnant and giving birth. I want to see her deliver some really major moments on the red carpet over the course of this awards season. I have always loved her style, but her first few looks post baby just didn’t do anything for me. I know she would wow me on Sunday night if she stepped onto the red carpet wearing this intricately bead embroidered Valentino Fall 2018 Couture gown which features a cowl neck, loose fit blouse, an a-line skirt, and a sweeping train. It has a loose fit that I definitely think that Rachel would look every so glamorous on the red carpet. I think that this look would be perfectly complimented with a romantic updo, smokey eyes, crimson red lips, a gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Soho’ metallic snakeskin box clutch, a pair of simple light ivory Valentino ‘Rockstud’ caged lather sandals, and vintage art deco Cartier diamond drop earrings.
The 2019 Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday January 6, 2019.
