2018 End of the Year Style Awards: Ones To Watch

As part of my End of the Year Style Awards I always spend one of them looking forward to next year. I look into faces who I am very interested in seeing on the red carpet in the next year and they make up my ones to watch in the next year. Sometimes I only pick one face. Since I have started If I Was A Stylist some of my Ones to Watch have included Alicia Vikander, Anya Taylor Joy, Naomie Harris, Ruth Negga, Gal Gadot, Amal Clooney, Felicity Jones, Riley Keough, Lupita Nyong’o, and Elizabeth Olsen. If you think about it those are some of our favorite ladies to see on the red carpet. So below are five stars whom I am really excited to see on the red carpet in the next year. Brie Larson: She may not be a new face on the block, but I feel like Brie Larson is going to have a really major year next year. She is the star of the much anticipated superhero film Captain Marvel! We are also expected to see her join her fellow superheros in Avengers: Endgame. Brie has a great sense of style and I am really excited to see how she, and her stylist Samantha McMillan, handle a blockbuster superhero tour. Kacey Musgraves: Kacey isn’t exactly a new face either. I had my eyes on her after her first Grammy’s back in 2014 where she wore Armani Prive, as an unknown face. She then again wore Armani Prive for the Grammy’s in 2016 and with four Grammy nominations next year including Album of the Year so I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet on musics biggest night this year. Will she once again pick an Armani Prive moment on the red carpet or will she go with one of the other brands she’s been favoring like Versace or Marchesa? Naomi Scott: We got a small sight look into Naomi Scott’s style last year when she was part of the cast of Power Rangers. Next year she is in two major movies the first is the much anticipated live action version of Aladdin and the other is a remake of Charlie’s Angles. So knowing that Naomi is going to be in two major films next year it really would shock me if we don’t see her on some red carpets during awards season, including most likely at the Oscars. She wore two Chanel looks last year and was front row at a Valentino show earlier this year. That makes me very excited to see what she will bring to the red carpets next year.Thomasin Mckenzie: Up until the Academy Governors Awards I had no idea who Thomasin Mackenzie was. If the Governors Awards hadn’t been the same day as the Independent Spirit Awards I don’t know if I would have even put her on my wishes for the Spirit Awards, but that very chic Schiaparelli Couture tea length gown introduced me to her. She has also rocked Thom Browne, Dolce & Gabbana, and Louis Vuitton this year too so I am very excited to see what she will wear for the National Board of Review Awards and the Spirit Awards next year. She also has three movies coming out next year one has Scarlett Johansson and one has Timothee Chalamet and Robert Pattinson it it. We could end up seeing her on the red carpet at one of the major film festivals and I am really excited to see what she will bring. Troye Sivan: This year Troye Sivan really burst onto the scene. I had some of his older music in my Spotify but this year with the release of his album “Bloom” in addition to playing a supporting role in Beautiful Boy I’m excited to see what 2019 will bring from him. He does bring some different looks and always takes a risk of blurring the lines between masculinity and femininity. Will he be at any of the awards shows for either music or television? I am sure hoping so.
