2018 End of the Year Stye Awards: Best Dressed Couple

Couple dressing can be difficult. Men tend to stay in a box of a classic black tuxedo and leave women to elevate their couples looks. That is why I always award a couple who both bring a new twist to couples dressing. I don’t typically think that exact matching looks are cute anywhere (I think Britney and Justin in matching denim would attest to that.) When I look for the recipients of this award I always look for people who are not just matching, but that always compliment each other. I went through all different couples, but the one that has stood out to me all year long is Chrissy Teigan and John Legend. Both alone have great individual style that pushes the boundaries on plus one and menswear style respectively, but when they stand next to each other on a red carpet they always compliment each other perfectly. From the first red carpet of the year that they walked at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala where Chrissy wore a champagne feathered Pamella Roland cape gown  and John wore a navy blue jacquard tuxedo jacket. Chrissy was pregnant for the first half of the year, and was my runner up for Best Dressed Baby Bump, but the looks always were the epitome of glamour. John brought just enough elevation to his menswear choices as not to be boring, but his doesn’t always push boundaries as far as he could. Chrissy definitely held the weight this year. My favorite looks from the two was at the Grammy Awards where Chrissy wore a custom silver sequin Yanina Couture long sleeve midi dress and john wore a double breasted navy tuxedo.
