We have reached the start of my annual End of the Year Style Awards. I always love this time. It gets me out of wishes and celebrating what stars actually wore on the red carpets this year. Over the next 12 days (the 12 glamorous days of Christmas you could say) I will be awarding all of my titles ending with the posting of my Best Dressed of the Year list. The first award this year is for the Best Dressed Baby Bump. While there were a bevy of pregnant stars including Meghan Markle, Diane Kruger, Kate Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Claire Danes, Kylie Jenner, Chrissy Teigan, and Kirsten Dunst I wasn’t really blown away with their style, or they laid very low key. While Cardi B kept her pregnancy under wraps for a while (she rocked full looks from Moschino and Christian Siriano for the iHeartRadio Music Awards to hide her burgeoning bump) she delivered some major style moments. While we didn’t initially know that her iHeartRadio Awards looks were maternity looks they did kick off her maternity run in high style. She made her bump debut while making her SNL debut. She performed two sets the first she kept the bump hidden in a Christian Cowan feathered ensemble to perform her hits “Bartier Cardi” and “Bodak Yellow” and then slipped into a form fitting white custom Christian Siriano gown to perform “Be Careful.” The camera for the first two minutes of the song stayed pretty tight on Cardi’s upper frame. I honestly thought that she was just showing a little pudge, but when the camera panned out and revealed a baby bump the crowd went WILD (and so did I!) What really won her the Best Dressed Baby Bump award is the amazing custom Moschino gown that she wore for the Met Gala. It was my favorite Met look. It was the first really wow moment I ever got from Cardi and everything about it was perfect for the theme of the night.
