Here we go on my wishes for one of the final blockbuster tours of the year. Since Mary Poppins Returns was announced I have been eagerly awaiting its release. I love both Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel Miranda, whom are the headliners of this film. When it comes to premiere wishes in late November I usually pick films that are either awards season contenders or major blockbusters, and this film wraps the two together with a nice pretty bow on top. I am really interested in seeing what the cast will bring to the red carpet. Currently the film has a premiere scheduled in LA for next Thursday November 29, 2018. I am wondering if it will go on as scheduled or if it will be toned down. Many events have been either canceled or the event has been toned down a lot out of respect for the California communities that are being ravaged and obliterated by forest fires. I feel like this is such a major premiere that it will most likely take place, and I feel like that despite the devastation that such a happy movie will be celebrated. The fires have actually played a part in the looks that I have picked for the cast to bring to life on this red carpet. I would typically go for something really dramatic for Emily Blunt to bring to life on this red carpet, but I decided that something much simpler (but still glamorous) for her was the right choice. I decided that this off the rack red and pink Oscar de la Renta contrast bodice column gown would be perfection on Emily. It is simple, chic, glamorous, and still bold. The simple silhouette of the gown would hug Emily’s figure perfectly and I just think that with a romantic updo, defined eyes, soft pink lips, a metallic pink python Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ clutch, red Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ sandals, and pair of Chopard ruby and diamond chandelier earrings that she would be the perfect definition of glamour on this red carpet. Meryl Streep doesn’t really do many movie premieres, and with the caliber of cast that also stars in Mary Poppins Returns I’m not hopeful that she will be on the red carpets for this tour. I may not be hopeful, but I am definitely would love to see her bring her glam to the red carpet. I used to be very in different to Meryl’s style, but when she started working with Micaela Erlanger and really started experimenting with her style I started to fall back in love. I went for a simple suit moment with a twist with this metallic antique gold Christian Dior Fall 2018 Couture suit. I think that Meryl rocks a suit really well and while she usually goes for a pant with a looser, wider leg that this would be a really chic moment for her to bring to life on this red carpet. Her signature chic updo, defined eyes behind her glasses (NO SUNGLASSES MERYL), soft blush pink lips, an antique gold Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ crystal embellished clutch, and a pair of antique gold Sergio Rossi ‘SR1’ pointed toe crystal embellished buckle detail pumps all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Meryl, AKA the queen of Hollywood.
The LA premiere of Mary Poppins Returns will take place on Thursday November 29, 2018.
