November starts the Fall blockbuster season and the first one to hit If I Was A Stylist is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald. I have to say I was less than enthused with the first film so I was surprised that it got a sequel. I did see the trailer for this edition and I think that this one may be better. Hopefully because I fell asleep during the first one. The promo tour however has the potential to really wow me with some of my favorite underrated ladies and of course Eddie Redmayne among the cast. Eddie Redmayne stars in Fantastic Beasts and I am really excited to see what he has in store for us style wise for this tour. He has been really low key for about a year and I am really excited to see him bring his style game to the upcoming red carpets. He was a major menswear style star, but thanks to people like Jared Leto, Timothee Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, and Armie Hammer he is now considered one of the more standard style guys. I really want him to continue pushing style boundaries and that is exactly what would happen if he stepped onto the red carpet at the films premiere in NYC wearing this navy pinstriped suit with matching light blue tie and shirt. The contrast of the pinstriping is what really makes this look major and I am definitely thinking it is a perfect look for Eddie to bring to this red carpet. He was a Burberry guy before and I am hoping that will continue under the reign of Riccardo Tisci. I would swap the matching navy pin stripe shoes (that I definitely want in my closet) for a pair of simple black patent leather oxfords because that seems more like him. I won’t lie of the cast members of Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald Katherine Waterson is not my favorite. She is very plain and while that shtick can work for others on her it comes across as more just rolled out of bed and onto a red carpet. I want to see her bring forth a little more effort as she gets out and promotes this film. In fact I honestly think that pairing her with Maria Grazia Chuiri’s Dior is a perfect idea. I think that Maria’s more laid back approach to fashion is perfectly in tune with Katherine’s style. This nude Christian Dior Fall 2018 Couture tea length gown which features a tank style sheer bodice, an a-line skirt, and all over intricate floral embroidery was an easy choice for me to make for Katherine to wear on this red carpet. I really feel like it is beautiful, and with the right styling would be a perfect moment. A sleek (straightened glossy) bob, barely there (but still there) makeup, and a pair of nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals all would really make sure that this is absolute perfection for Katherine, from head to toe. Zoe Kravitz is probably the one that I am most excited to see on the red carpet. She always brings her a-game and I know that she will serve LEWKS on this red carpet for the NYC premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald. I feel like I should be picking a gown for Zoe, but she’s even opted for shorter looks for film festivals like Cannes and Venice so I think that if anyone could make short dress work it would be her. I have wanted to see Zoe wearing this black tulle and lace Alexis Mabille Spring 2017 Couture strapless trapeze dress since it was first presented almost a year ago. I love the overlay, tiara inspired crystal beaded bandeau, and the scalloped lace trimmed nude underlay and I really think that the effortless glamour that Zoe exudes on the red carpet is perfect to really compliment this dress. A sleek pixie hairstyle, defined eyes, nude lips, black Gianvito Rossi ‘Jasmine’ crystal fringe trimmed sandals, and a pair of Anita Ko ‘Ava’ diamond wreath earrings are the perfect accessories to really make this a major style moment for Zoe. Carmen Ejogo is one of the rising style stars who came onto the scene a few years ago with the promo tour, and subsequent awards season run, and I know that she has some major potential and I am looking forward to seeing what she will bring to the red carpets during this promo tour. I wanted something sexy and glamorous for her to bring to life and so I thought that this black Christopher Kane Resort 2019 midi dress which features a sparkling crystal embellished bodice was perfect. I would honestly love to see Mr. Kane custom make this dress into a floor length gown for Carmen. I do think that with a chic wavy bob, winged eyes, red lips, a black Rodo crystal embellished box clutch, black Giuseppe Zanotti crystal embellished sandals, and a pair of dazzling Hueb ‘Apus’ diamond cluster earrings that Carmen would definitely show why I think she is one who’s style we shouldn’t underestimate.
The NYC premiere of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald will take place tomorrow Wednesday November 7, 2018.
