Just yesterday Elle Magazine released who made their annual Women In Hollywood list. The laureates will be lauded at a gala at a date to be announced soon at an event typically sponsored by Calvin Klein. Typically we see laureates and attendees wearing Calvin Klein on this red carpet. It isn’t one of the most formal of occasions either. Typically we see really chic cocktail looks on this red carpet and that is what I decided to focus on for my wishes for the some of the women being celebrated. I couldn’t feature everyone but this years Women In Hollywood are Lady Gaga, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Mia Farrow, Shonda Rhimes, Sarah Paulson, Yara Shahidi, Keira Knightley, and Charlize Theron. I have wishes for several of them below and I have to say I am really excited to see what everyone will bring to this red carpet. Angela Bassett has been giving lots of different looks on the red carpet this year. While most stars opt to wear a look given to them by event sponsor Calvin Klein I have a feeling that we will see Angela go left of that. I can’t recall her ever wearing Calvin Klein in the past, so that would just not feel authentic to me. This hot pink Azzi & Osta Spring 2019 RTW strapless origami draped ensemble which features a bustier bodice and straight leg pants does feel very authentic to Angela’s style though. In fact it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that Angela was one of the laureates of this years Women in Hollywood awards. I think that if Angela rocked this look with a short pixie style (like she does in her show 9-1-1), smokey eyes, glossy nude lips, and a pair of matching hot pink Valentino ‘Rockstud’ sequin pumps that she would definitely be able to really make this a major moment on this red carpet. Charlize Theron is another of this years honored women and I am hoping that she will bring something that gets me excited. She has almost exclusively worn black over her last several red carpet appearances and while I would like to see her bring color to the red carpet I decided that black was the most likely option for Charlize to wear on this red carpet. I wanted something strong and chic so when I saw this black Calvin Klein belted jumpsuit which features a deep V neck, long sleeves, button cuffs, a silver-tone D-ring buckle, and a straight leg pant I thought it was the perfect look for Charlize. She has never worn Calvin Klein on the red carpet and since she is a Dior ambassador we could see her wearing a Dior ensemble, but i think that this jumpsuit is just perfect for her especially when paired with a black Calvin Klein logo wallet clutch, loose waves, defined eyes, red lips, black Christian Dior ‘D-Stiletto’ pointed toe pumps, and some sparkle via a Harry Winston ‘Traffic’ diamond necklace. Following the major success of Black Panther it didn’t surprise me to see Danai Gurira was honored on this years Elle Women In Hollywood list. I definitely am excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet at the actual awards presentation in the coming days. She loved bold styles be it from shape, pattern, or color and that is why when I saw this bold yellow Calvin Klein silk-wool cady T-shirt dress which features jewel neck, dipping V-back, cape style draping, and a knee length hem I knew it was a perfect option for Danai to rock on this red carpet. It is that chic and bold moment that I know she would be drawn to and I think that with a simple hairstyle, smokey eyes, bright pink lips, a pair of yellow and white Calvin Klein winged sandals, and statement Ana Khouri diamond and emerald earcuffs that this moment is perfection. Keira Knightley on the heels of promoting Colette and on the verge of promoting The Nutcracker and the Four Realms will be honored at the Elle Women in Hollywood awards. While Calvin Klein is the presenting sponsor and many of the laureates will wear CK I feel like it is pretty unlikely that Keira will wear the brand on the red carpet. I would expect that Keira will bring her favored Chanel moment to this red carpet. I went with this chic black Chanel Cruise 2019 halter gown which features a plunging neckline, peplum waist, sequin embroidery, and a column skirt because it is that classic look that Keira tends to love on the red carpet and for a more casual awards show this is just the perfect look for her to rock on this red carpet. I would keep the look really simple adding sleek center parted hair tucked behind the ears, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Calvin Klein ‘Camelle’ asymmetrical jeweled sandals to really ensure that this look is styled perfectly for this red carpet. Lady Gaga has been having a major year. Just a few days ago I heard “I’ll Never Love Again” from her film A Star Is Born and said that not only do I think that she will take home the Best Actress Oscar but I also think she will walk away with a Best Original Song Oscar as well. A lot of stars start their journey to the Oscars with being honored at the Elle Women in Hollywood event and that is exactly what I am predicting is going to happen with Gaga. She has been delivering major moments from brands like Valentino, Alaia, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, Armani Prive, and Ralph & Russo while out on the promo trail for A Star Is Born and I know that we have many, many more major moment in store for the next several moments as she continues to ride this train all the way to the Oscars. I know that simple cocktail, and more casual, moments are what is expected on this red carpet, but this is Lady Gaga we are talking about and I am expecting something bold for her to bring to this red carpet. She could rock something from Calvin Klein, but when I saw her name the first thing that I thought of was that I want Gaga to have a really chic Giambattista Valli moment on this red carpet. I decided to dig deep into the archives though for this look. I think that Gaga would definitely be the perfect person to finally bring this cream Giambattista Valli Spring 2007 RTW pencil dress which features a shoelace like bow on the neckline and a dramatic ruffled bustle to life on the red carpet. It is that bold and glamorous moment that I really only think that Gaga would be able to make work on a red carpet like this. A vintage inspired updo, thick winged eyes, soft pink lips, gold glitter Casadei platform ankle strap d’orsay peep toe sandals, and a pair of Chopard white and yellow diamond cluster earrings would all really ensure that this is just another major wow moment from Gaga. Like Danai it doesn’t surprise me that Lupita Nyong’o is on the Elle Woman in Hollywood list this year thanks to the major success of Black Panther which is garnering her some Oscar nomination buzz as well for Best Supporting Actress. This is not the first time that Lupita has made this list and I am sure that it won’t be the last. She is the only one who I decided to pick right off the runway Calvin Klein for. I wasn’t thrilled with the brands Spring 2019 RTW collection and this lilac Calvin Klein Spring 201 RTW crinkled silk taffeta sleeveless cocktail dress which features a crystal star like broach is one of the only cocktail looks I think could be perfect for this red carpet. It is still a very challenging dress, but when it comes to it Lupita loves to take a risk and that is exactly what she would have on her hands with this dress. It could make people look very large because of the origami draped crinkles so I know that it has to fit just right to not be overwhelming. A black crystal embellished Marzook sphere clutch, tight curls, defined eyes, rich glossy red lips, a silver Calvin Klein ‘Camelle’ asymmetrical crystal strap sandals, and vintage Fred Leighton diamond and amethyst chandelier earrings all would make this look head to toe perfection. Sarah Paulson has become a force in the world of film, theater, and most obviously television since winning an Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award for her portrayal of Marcia Clark in The People vs. OJ Simpson. Since then Sarah has kept busy with her acting and directing projects but has also been an outspoken advocate in the Me Too and Times Up movements for ending the parity between men and women in Hollywood. So it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that Sarah has made the Elle Women in Hollywood list this year. She could easily rock a Calvin Klein look on the red carpet since she has given many of the more difficult to wear looks from CK a run on the red carpet. In the last year we have seen Sarah wearing Calvin Klein for the Washington, D.C. premiere of The Post, the Golden Globe Awards, and Comic Con. So it was an easy option for me to pick another Calvin Klein dress for Sarah to rock on the red carpet at the Women In Hollywood Awards. I know wasn’t expecting to put one of the peasant style looks from the Calvin Klein Fall 2018 RTW collection on the red carpet, but this black commercial version of those dresses fits the Sarah’s style perfectly. This dress features a jewel neckline, ruffled cap sleeves, defined waist, side slip pockets, and an a-line midi length skirt and I definitely think that Sarah would make this more casual dress more of a glamorous moment on the red carpet. I added some bold color with a multicolored Edie Parker ‘Jean’ confetti clutch, simple black Jimmy Choo ‘Misty’ sandals, bright pink lips, a sleek center parted hairstyle tucked behind the ears, and a pair of Maxior ‘Kaleidoscope’ ruby, sapphire, and and ruby earrings to really make sure that this look is chic and bold for Sarah to rock on this red carpet. Rounding out this list is the youngest of the laureates, Yara Shahidi. It was last year that I really started to take notice of Yara and the world of fashion and film have done so as well. She made her Met Gala debut earlier this year thanks to Chanel and I just feel like I am really excited to see what she can bring to the red carpet. I think that Yara would look so chic wearing this light gold Calvin Klein lamé flared midi dress which is cut on the bias and features thin ribbon tie straps, a v-neckline, squared back, and a midi length. This dress meshes the glamour of the 20’s and the 90’s together in a really chic way and I definitely think that Yara would be able to sell this look to me especially when paired with a chic bun updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Linda’ patent leather sandals, and statement Forevermark 18k gold and diamond drop earrings.
