The last full wish list I have for the 2019 London Film Festival (which kicks off today) is for the BFI Patron’s Gala screening of Collette. So far I think that Keira Knightley and Denise Gough have brought very chic and glamorous moments on the red carpet while promoting this film and I am hoping that continues when they step out for the films premiere in London. Keira Knightley has worn Chanel Couture for both the films screenings in Toronto and New York City and I would be surprised if we don’t see her wearing a Chanel ensemble for the films premiere at the London Film Festival. I did however decide to walk away from couture in favor of this hot off the runway black and white tweed Chanel Spring 2019 RTW midi gown which features shell embellished straps, a draped bandeau bodice with a knotted sash, and a pencil skirt with a center split. This gown is very chic and perfectly in tune with Keira’s more classic style. I think that if anyone could really make this gown into the effortlessly chic and glamorous moment Keira would definitely be able to sell it to me. A pair of simple black Tabitha Simmons embellished leather and velvet sandals, a romantic updo, defined eyes, red lips, and Cartier High Jewelry diamond & pearl cluster earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this ensemble. Denise Gough gave a very simple yet chic moment on the Toronto International Film Festival red carpet wearing a custom peachy pink Gabriela Hearst velvet gown for the premiere of Collette. That gown ended up on my Best Dressed of TIFF list and I am hoping that she continues to deliver something very chic on the red carpet at the films gala premiere at the London Film Festival. I decided to keep Denise in velvet, but taking a darker turn opting for this dark moss green Ralph Lauren Fall 201 RTW gown which features a cowl neck and a column skirt. The gown is similar to the Gabriela Hearst gown she wore for TIFF, but is also very different. I think that styling is the key to making a difference in these looks. I want to see Denise pair this gown with a dark burgundy lip, sleek pixie hair, defined eyes, a pair of gold Aquazzura ‘Josephine’ strappy sandals, and Anita Ko ‘Ava’ 18k gold baguette and diamond wreath earrings to really make sure this look is bold, glamorous, and modern.
The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.
