The London Film Festival is 3 days away now and I am really excited to see what all of the stars are going to bring to the red carpet as they promote their films over the course of this years edition. I am really looking forward to seeing what the cast of Destroyer will bring to the festivals red carpets after disappointing me at the films premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Nicole Kidman wore a simple white linen suit with a ruffle blouse for the Toronto International Film Festival screening of Destroyer. Was it a terrible look? No. It was just too simple and casual for a film festival premiere. I definitely upped the glamour level ten fold with this black Armani Prive Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a sculptural peplum and crystal trimming. I loved this gown the moment I saw it come down the runway and it was absolutely beautiful. InStyle editor-in-chief Laura Brown posted on social media after the show that her fashion director Julia Von Bohem, who also happens to be Nicole’s stylist, needed to grab this gown off the runway and hand it over to Nicole. It is that sleek modern glam moment, but the sculptural nature of this gown definitely needs a very tall statuesque woman to really make it work and that is exactly what Nicole is. I think that styling this gown with a sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Aquazzura crystal embellished satin peep toe d’orsay pumps, and Fred Leighton one-of-a-kind girandole earrings crafted with oval, round, and pear-shaped iridescent moonstones framed in shimmering white diamond would really make this a total wow moment. I really disliked the Saloni crop top and maxi skirt that Tatiana Maslany wore for the TIFF premiere of Destroyer, but she showed her best look ever wearing a custom chartreuse and black Christian Siriano jumpsuit at the Emmy Awards. I have always said that Tatiana looks the most confident on the red carpet when she delivers something a little more ‘Tom Boy” than girlie on the red carpet. So it was a pretty easy decision for me to pick this black Dundas Spring 2019 RTW suit which features a fitted blazer with broad shoulders, a wide embellished lapel and embellishment details on the sleeves, a fitted silk brocade pant with side slit pockets and skinny legs, and a wide ruched hot pink belt. This look is edgy and glamorous and I definitely think that Tatiana would make this a major moment on the red carpet. Again the look is already a lot compared to what we are used to seeing from Tatiana on the red carpet so I would just pair it with a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, diamond stud earrings, and a pair of black Manolo Blahnik ‘Pilina’ d’orsay pumps to really ensure that we keep Tatiana on a best dressed roll.
The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.
