When Suspiria screened at the Venice Film Festival it was given a very mixed reaction. At the press screening people booed and walked out and at the films star studded gala premiere it received a six minute standing ovation. The film itself doesn’t do anything for me, but I do love the cast on the red carpet so I am very interested in seeing what they will being to the films premiere at the London Film Festival where it will screen as one of the many headline gala’s. I was very disappointed with the custom silk Louis Vuitton dressing gown that Chloe Grace Moretz wore for the Venice Film Festival premiere of Suspiria. I wanted so much more from her. I decided to really go for the glam for the London premiere opting to put Chloe in this black Marchesa Spring 2019 RTW lace gown which features a corset bodice, a princess skirt silhouette, sheer hem, ruffled neckline and a contrasting metallic silver floral-print. Opting for a Marchesa gown in the current world can be a risk and stars have been weary (aside from a small select few) so this is
a bit of a risk for me to pick for Chloe, but she was a Marchesa girl pre-Weinstein scandal so why shouldn’t she continue to be one now? She has been a friend of the house of Louis Vuitton and I wanted to keep the brand in this outfit adding a pair of black Louis Vuitton ‘Vanity’ crystal embellished platform sandals and Louis Vuitton High Jewelry diamond and sapphire drop earrings to compliment the delicate nature of this gown. Add a romantic updo, defined eyes, and soft pink lips to really make this an absolutely magical moment for Chloe to bring to this red carpet. Dakota Johnson wasn’t my favorite in Venice, wearing Dior Couture, but she ended up on my Best Dressed of September list thanks to the custom Gucci gown she wore for the LA premiere of Bad Times at the El Royale. For the London Film Festival premiere of Suspiria I want to see a very chic and modern moment from Dakota which is why I went to this cream Givenchy Fall 2018 Couture one shoulder gown which features a chiffon caped sleeve, chiffon fringing, an a-line pleated skirt, and a sweeping train. I wasn’t even looking at Givenchy in particular when I was searching for the perfect gown for Dakota to wear on this red carpet, but when I saw this gown I thought it was a majorly chic moment and that it would have such the glamour to make a major best dressed worthy moment. Lady Gaga isn’t attending the London Film Festival so that top spot is definitely up for grabs. Could this gown nab that top spot? Anything is possible. A chic and glossy romantic updo, defined eyes, dusty rose pink lips, cream Gucci strappy patent leather sandals, and a chic pair of Cartier diamond and peridot earrings all would really ensure this look is the most perfect ensemble that Dakota has ever worn.Mia Goth has been making the fashion rounds lately. She has worn chic looks from Valentino, Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Miu Miu, and Prada over the last several weeks and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet at the London Film Festival premiere of Suspiria. This black silk Valentino Fall 2018 Couture strapless gown which features a draped bodice, plunging neckline, side cutouts, and a-line skirt might be a little more dramatic than we are used to seeing on the London Film Festival red carpet, but I really do believe that that Mia would be able to make this moment really come to life and work on the festivals red carpet. Mia knows how to deliver elegance with almost an alien-esque aesthetic and I want to keep this look very simple with a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of simple black Valentino open toe ankle strap sandals with a curved lucite heel to really make it a perfect moment for Mia to bring to life on the festivals red carpet. Finishing out this list is Tilda Swinton who I know will bring the fashion factor to this red carpet. In Venice we saw Tilda wearing Haider Ackermann, Schiaparelli, and Chanel Couture on the red carpet. I want to see Tilda bring the bold glamour to the London Film Festival red carpet wearing this electric blue Schiaparelli Fall 2018 Couture long sleeve gown which features sharp draping, strong shoulders, voluminous sleeves, column skirt, and a small train. I know that not many could really bring this gown to the red carpet and not look overwhelmed, but I know that Tilda would definitely make this a regal queen of fashion moment. Only she would be able to really deliver this moment with ease to me on the red carpet. A sleek hairstyle, simple defined eyes, red lips, a pair of blue satin Manolo Blahnik ‘Blue Nadira’ jewel embellished pumps would all make the look absolute head to toe perfection.
The 2018 London Film Festival will open on Wednesday October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday October 21, 2018.
