Her Smell is a 90’s femme rock story and the cast can deliver some great red carpet moments so I am really looking forward to seeing what they will bring to the red carpet when the film premieres on September 29, 2018. None of the cast members in Her Smell have ever attended a premiere at the New York Film Festival before and I am really excited what each of them she will bring to the festivals red carpet. I am really excited to seeing what Amber Heard is going to the red carpet over the next several weeks and months. She is going to be on a roll and I really want to see the New York Film Festival be the first of many major moments for her. It isn’t very often we see couture on the New York Film Festival red carpet, but I fell in love with the idea of seeing Amber wearing this navy Christian Dior Fall 2018 Couture pleated halter dress which features a plunging neckline, thin belted waist, midi length, and an a-line skirt and it is just simple enough that I think it would be a match made in heaven. It would be that chic and sexy moment for Amber to bring to this red carpet and I think that this ensemble would be perfectly finished with a sleek updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of navy Aquazzura ‘Matilde’ strappy pumps, and simple Cartier diamond and sapphire drop earrings.Ashley Benson has been one that I have either loved or glazed over when it comes to her red carpet looks. The simple red pencil dress she wore for the Toronto Film Festival premiere was one of those looks I just glazed over. I want her to be on top form when it comes time to step out for the films premiere in New York. I would love to see her do so giving Marchesa a chic moment on the red carpet, especially after it was left off the backs of everyone at the Emmy Awards. I think that Ashley would look so incredibly chic wearing this navy and gold Marchesa Spring 2019 RTW off the shoulder a-line midi gown which features feathered details, a satin waistband, and 3D floral embroidery. It is a flirty and feminine yet dark and sexy moment and I think that Ashley would sell it to me with chic waves, smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘J Box’ clutch, and a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Emily’ strappy platform sandalsCara Delevingne was back to her go to red carpet standard wearing a mini dress with thigh high books when she stepped out for this films premiere at TIFF. When I saw that sheer striped Balmain mini dress with those boots I just rolled my eyes. I had much higher expectations than what she delivered and I decided to lower those expectations for the New York Film Festival premiere of Her Smell. While Cara wasn’t part of the cast of Riccardo Tisci’s famous model faces at his debut for Burberry I don’t think that we will see Cara not wear one of his creations for the iconic British fashion house. In fact I definitely think that this white Burberry Spring 2019 RTW cocktail dress which features a dotted tulle sweatshirt style overlay, boned bustier bodice, bubble hem, and cutouts on the long sleeves is something totally up Cara’s ally and I think that it would be a really chic moment for this red carpet. I didn’t want to go over the knee boot route, but I did find a great pair of silver crystal embellished and white lace Rene Caovilla peep toe booties that I think would keep edging this look up. A sleek pixie, smokey eyes, pink lips, and a pair of asymmetrical Messika ‘My Twin’ diamond earrings all would ensure that this look is a perfect mixing of edge and glamour.Elisabeth Moss hasn’t wowed me in a really long time. Her custom strapless Vera Wang bustier dress at the Emmy’s was more suited for a party than an awards show. In fact it probably would have been better suited for the New York Film Festival. Since she has an aversion to wearing gowns I am really interested in seeing what she will wear for the New York Film Festival premiere of Her Smell. She isn’t usually one to do couture, except for Dior, so this metallic black Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture ombré cocktail dress which features a strapless neckline, pencil silhouette, hand woven silk tulle tweed enhanced by crystal stones, glass bugles and devoré ostrich feather edging is definitely a risk, but I definitely think that it would be perfect for her. I went through hundreds of options and this Ralph & Russo Couture moment was really the only one that felt right. I wouldn’t have her keep the matching capelet from the runway, it doesn’t really fit her sense of style. Old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a black Rodo crystal embellished clutch, a pair of black Manolo Blahnik ‘Drapia’ tulle crossover sandals, and Harry Kotlar ‘Arabesque’ diamond drop earrings all would allow for the this to be one of Elisabeth’s best red carpet moments ever.
The 2018 New York Film Festival opens September 28, 2018 and runs through October 14, 2018.
