I apologize to everyone that I didn’t get to finish my last four sets of wishes for the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. I had some really great ones and they ended up getting lost to my mind. So since the TIFF is in full swing now I am heading into my wishes for the 2018 Emmy Awards which will take place a week from tonight. I am really excited for the Emmy’s as the casts and nominees of the shows that are being honored can deliver some really amazing fashion moments on the red carpet and I am really excited to see what everyone will bring. Alexis Bledel won Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Ofsteven in The Handmaid’s Tale and after being promoted from guest star to series regular she is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series this year. This is a heavy category this year and I am not so sure Alexis will walk away with an Emmy this year. She was a vision last year wearing a custom Armani Prive gown. It was outside of her comfort zone and I went right back into it with this navy and black Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2018 cap sleeve gown which features a v-neck, beaded waist, and a textured a-line ball skirt. It is simple and chic and I definitely think that it is something that Alexis would be drawn to. While two seasons of new gowns have come from Naeem since this gown was presented, but I think that it is the perfect choice for Alexis to make for this red carpet. A vintage inspired romantic updo, smokey eyes, dark raspberry lips, a pair of navy Paul Andrew ‘Zenadia’ pumps, and Harry Koltar ‘Chantilly’ diamond drop earrings all would make this a very glamorous moment for the actress. Donald Glover won two Emmy’s last year for his hit series Atlanta last year wearing a bold purple Gucci tuxedo. I love his bold style and I went out there with my option for him to bring to life on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards this year. I went to this tan Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria Fall 2018 three piece tuxedo which features a gold and green stripe jacquard peak lapel for him to bring to this red carpet. It is a more of a casual take on the tuxedo, but I think that if anyone could really make this look work on this red carpet it would be Donald. I would keep all of the runway styling except the yellow shoes opting to swap them for a pair of green jacquard Louis Leeman gold metal toe cap slippers to really keep this look perfect for the Emmy’s red carpet. Last year Jessica Biel was a presenter at the Emmy Awards ahead of the release of her mini-series The Sinner. I loved her Ralph & Russo Couture gown, but I hated her bad pageant hair. This year Jessica is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for that same show. I went for drama, bold, and glamorous with this lipstick red Elie Saab Fall 2018 Couture one sleeved jumpsuit which features a slash detail on the asymmetrical neckline, seamed tapered pants, and a dramatic train. It is definitely outside of Jessica’s typical red carpet MO, but I really believe that this would be a really major moment for her to bring to this red carpet. I think that a sleek updo, defined eyes, matching red lips, red Christian Louboutin ‘Crossfliketa’ strappy pointed toe pumps, and a pair of Cartier ruby and diamond art deco drop earrings all would really ensure that this is a major moment for her to bring to this red carpet.Letitia Wright has had a major year this year. She has gone from virtual unknown to major fashionista and an Emmy nominee. I wanted to see Letitia, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her performance in Black Mirror: Black Museum, bring a chic and edgy fashion moment to this red carpet opting for a custom black sequin Chloe gown inspired by a cocktail dress I found on FarFetch which features a v-neck, short sleeves, sequin embroidery, and a belted waist. Not many stars can rock a custom Chloe moment on the red carpet, especially for the Emmy’s, but I think that if anyone who is nominated this year that Letitia could make it happen. She has become quite the fashionista and while this look isn’t boundary pushing that this moment would be amazing for her to bring to the Emmy Awards red carpet especially when paired with silvery smokey eyes, nude lips, a chic braided updo, black Chloe ‘Reese’ chain embellished sandals, and a pair of Fernando Jorge ‘Fusion Rounded’ black rhodium plated 18k gold, black diamonds, black jade and howlite earrings.Riley Keough has been MIA since the Met Gala. She had multiple movies screen at the Cannes Film Festival and didn’t show up for any of their premieres. Riley stared in the TV movie Paterno which actually lost Outstanding Television Movie to Black Mirror: USS Callister at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this past weekend. I don’t think that bodes well for seeing Riley on the red carpet next Monday, but I definitely hope that we will. If she does take to the red carpet it wouldn’t surprise me to see her once again rock the red carpet wearing a custom gown from Louis Vuitton. I took a black Louis Vuitton crystal embellished lace romper from the Cruise 2019 collection and turned it into a chic sleeveless gown which features a plunging v-neckline and pleated panels. I think that if anyone could bring this bohemian, yet glamorous moment to life on the red carpet it would be Riley. I went full glamour with the styling adding glamorous old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a black Louis Vuitton ‘Night Box’ epi leather clutch, black Louis Vuitton ‘Black Bird’ crystal chain strap sandals, and a selection of Louis Vuitton High Jewelry diamonds including monogram diamond chandelier earrings and an art deco cuff bracelet.Tessa Thompson wore a rainbow Rosie Assoulin gown for the Emmy Awards last year where she acted as a presenter while supporting her Best Drama Series nominated show Westworld. I would expect to see Tessa back on the red carpet at the Emmy’s again this year and doing so in high style like she did last year. While that gown was chic and flirty I wanted to go for drama and glamour this year so I thought that this nude Off White Fall 2018 RTW ball gown which features a one shoulder neckline and allover tiered tulle construction. It is definitely one of those really glamorous and statement moments and I definitely think that Tessa would sell this gown to me on the red carpet. She might not be nominated but she could win all kinds of Best Dressed awards in this gown especially when paired with a chic braided updo, defined eyes, ruby red lips, gold Aquazzura ‘Ritz’ pointed toe t-bar pumps, and a selection of IVY New York jewels including rubellite and diamond drop earrings, a red tourmaline and diamond ring, a ruby and diamond ring, and a red spinel and diamond ring.
The 2018 Emmy Awards will take place on Monday September 17, 2018.
