One of the funner premieres this summer I feel will be Dog Days. The film for dog lovers has an incredible cast and is expected in theaters on August 10, 2018. Usually a premiere for a dog film is really casual. They are light and easy, but with stars like Nina Dobrev and Vanessa Hudgens I really want to see the level of glamour brought up a bit. Nina Dobrev recently separated with her longtime stylist Ilaria Urbinati, who really made her a fashion star with moments from Donna Karan at the Emmy Awards and the Met Gala, in favor of working with Kate Young who styles the likes of Selena Gomez, Natalie Portman, and Margot Robbie. So far Nina Dobrev x Kate Young has brought a new level of designers for the actress including Altuzarra, Dior, and Zac Posen. So with that new level of dressing in mind I wanted to go for a bold style statement that I might not have picked for Nina to wear before and that is why I picked this hot off the runway blue and white striped Balmain Resort 2019 mullet mini dress which features a single off the shoulder sleeve, keyhole cutout, and chain embellishment. For the kind of premiere this is many would say that this is too much, but I have always felt that one should go big or go home. Nina has never worn Balmain in the past, but I think that if anyone could make it work that she would, with a soft feminine ease. That is why I would style this look with a romantic updo, defined eyes, soft rose pink lips, a pair of silver Calvin Klein ‘Camelle’ asymmetrical jewel strap sandals, and asymmetrical Messika ‘Ritzy’ drop earrings to ensure that this look is equal parts glamour, edge, and ease for this premiere. We could very well see Vanessa Hudgens go for that easy, bohemian look that we are used to seeing on a red carpet like this, but I felt that with the dramatic moment I picked for Nina that I needed to up the glamour of my wish for her as well. I went to a rather classic style for Vanessa to wear on this red carpet with this rich purple David Koma Fall 2018 RTW asymmetrical cocktail dress which features a straight strapless neckline, allover sequin embellishment, and a high slit on the left leg. This is not a boundary pushing look, but I feel like it is very chic and glamorous moment for her to bring to this red carpet especially when paired with old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, nude lips, a black satin Inge Christopher embellished clutch, a pair of purple satin Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals, and a selection of Maxior black diamond, sapphire, amethyst, and blue topaz jewels including a pair of drop earrings and a cocktail ring.
