“Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Aside from the premiere in London expected on Monday I couldn’t confirm any actual other red carpet premieres for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. 10 years ago the first Mamma Mia screened in London, New York, and Sweden so I feel like we will see more than one premiere during the promo tour for the sequel. With how star studded this cast is they could break up and promote the film across the globe. I would love for the whole cast jet to LA where we typically see North American premieres. Aside from appearances at Cinema-Con and the Met Gala this year I feel like it has been a long time since we have see Amanda Seyfried on a red carpet. I love Amanda’s style usually so I really want to see her bring some really chic moments to the red carpet over this promo tour. I went for floaty, gowns in bold colors for her to rock this promo tour. In contrast to the acid yellow Ralph & Russo gown from yesterdays wishes this strawberry red Valentino Fall 2018 Couture draped chiffon goddess gown is darker and more demure. I think that while both gowns are very similar that they give two totally different vibes and I don’t think that there would be much comparison to each other on red carpet blogs. This dramatic Valentino gown is perfect for Amanda’s sense of style. While I could totally see Amanda wearing the live floral headpiece the gown was paired with on the runway for the Met Gala I don’t think it would work anywhere else. A sleek updo, defined eyes, antique rose pink lips, a pair of tabasco red Gianvito Rossi ‘Desire’ sandals, and Chopard diamond and ruby cluster earrings would add the perfect finishing touches to this look.I CANNOT WAIT to see what Cher will bring to an international promo tour for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. She has never been one that shy’s away from drama, sex appeal, and glamour for her on and off stage red carpet moments. She is 72 years young and giving those more than half her age a lesson in how to dress for the red carpet every time she steps out. In more recent years Cher has turned to designers like Marc Jacobs, Julien Macdonald, and Jean Paul Gaultier for her red carpet moments. For this premiere red carpet I immediately thought of this hot pink Roberto Cavalli Couture fitted sequin gown which features a wide v-neck, sheer floral embroidered panels and three quarter length sleeves, and a fit and flare silhouette. This gown is a statement all on it’s own, and definitely not what you would expect your average 72 year old to wear. But Cher is not your average 72 year old. I really do think that she would totally sell this look to me. She would take this gown pair it with sleek center parted hair, thick smokey eyes, matching pink lips, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Rosie’ kidskin leather platform peep toe sandal pumps and slay it all day.Christine Baranski is the dark horse style star in this cast. She doesn’t get to wear couture and most of her looks are not custom made, but she knows how to wear clothes with presence and glamour. I am excited to see what she and her stylist Cristina Ehrlich are cooking up for this promo tour. I feel like for a premiere in LA I would love to see Christine give us bold color wearing this coral Pamella Roland Resort 2019 gown which features cap sleeves, a plunging neckline (with a sheer nude modesty panel,) seam defined waist, and a trumpet skirt. These bright summery colors are perfect for this promo tour. They match the easy vibe of the film and are perfect for a Summer blockbuster movie premiere. This gown paired with a gold Roger Vivier floral crystal buckle satin envelope clutch, nude Christian Louboutin ‘Uptown Double’ ankle strap d’orsay pumps, her signature bob, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of antique Victorian gold set pearl and diamond chandelier earrings from Beladora would be an absolutely gorgeous moment for Christine. For premieres I tend to stick to runway gowns, but I really do feel like going the custom route for Lily James is a great idea. We usually only see custom Miu Miu gowns come out during film festivals, awards shows, and the Met Gala, but I feel a big blockbuster premiere would be a great time for the brand to craft a custom gown for Lily. I was inspired by the Miu Miu Resort 2019 collection taking some of the embellishments to create the halter neck bodice with side cutouts that I paired with a white trumpet skirt for this gown. There were so many amazing details in that collection that I feel could be used to create a custom gown that could really be a showstopper, and that is exactly what we have here with this custom white gown. Add a silver Judith Leiber Couture ‘Reflection’ coffered box clutch, sleek updo, defined eyes, pink lips, and silver Gianvito Rossi asymmetrical strass embellished sandals to ensure that this look would be head to toe perfection. Rounding out this set of wishes is the fabulous Meryl Streep. As I said yesterday I still am not convinced that Meryl’s character isn’t dead and the clips of her in the film are taken from the first film. It makes me wonder if Meryl will be out and about to promote the film. I pray that she is because she has been giving some really chic fashion moments this year and I want to see them continue. I went to the runways to pick the perfect gown for Meryl to wear for this premiere, but I wasn’t really sold on anything. So I went to the virtual racks of Neiman Marcus and found this salmon pink velvet Bottega Veneta v-neck gown which features long sleeves, chain stitching, and a leather belted waist. I think that with the right modifications that this gown would be perfect for Meryl. The neckline would have to be sewn up just a bit so that there isn’t too much cleavage on display (I think that the neckline on her red Dior gown at the Oscars is a good inspiration for where the neckline should sit) and the cuffs have to be perfectly tailored to the correct sleeve length. I would finish this look so that is a perfect summer blockbuster premiere moment with a blush Bottega Veneta woven satin knot clasp clutch, a simple pair of nude Gianvito Rossi ‘Gianvito’ pointed toe pumps, a defined eye, light pink lips, and a simple updo.
