And God Created Women: Galia Lahav Fall 2018 Couture

Last week in Paris the design duo of Galia Lahav and Sharon Sever presented their new Fall 2018 Couture collection. It was a major departure from what we are used to seeing from them. The last several seasons the brand has been focused on this very overtly sexy approach to glamour. This was a welcome change of pace. The collection celebrated feminine elegance in a way that just made glamour defined. The collection took silhouette inspiration from the 50’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s but in a way that (for the most part) felt very now. Just when I thought I knew who the Galia Lahav woman was going to be it was turned upside down through the lens of this collection. Gowns, cocktail dresses, pants ensembles, and even a few t-shirts came down this runway. There were sheer moments, but nothing that could really be seen as trashy. I definitely think that there will be many chic moments from this collection on the red carpet. We can expect to see looks from this collection at the music awards shows like the VMA’s and the American Music Awards, but there are also gowns I would love to see at the Emmy’s and some of the big film premieres that are coming up this fall. The flirty floral details in the collection are among my favorites. From the large 3D versions that detail collars and make up whole cocktail dresses to prints an simple embroideries it all helped make this collection even more glamorous. The collection really did throw who I thought was the Galia Lahav woman. The fact I have Angelina Jolie on my initial wishes from this collection really surprises me. Tiffany Haddish, Adriana Lima, Chrissy Teigan, Amber Heard, Elizabeth Chambers, Anna Faris, Blake Lively, Cynthia Erivo, Olivia Culpo, Halle Berry, Danai Gurira, Mary J. Blige, Alison Brie, Dua Lipa, Eiza Gonzalez, Isabela Moner, Emma Roberts, Emmy Rossum, Gal Gadot, Yara Shahidi, Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, Winnie Harlow, Kendall Jenner, Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Paulson, Pink, Olivia Munn, Maren Morris, and more come to mind as others who I believe could really sell this look to me on the red carpet.
