“Sharp Objects” LA Premiere Red Carpet Wish List

Over the last year or so there has been a large number of Oscar nominated and winning stars making the journey from the big screen to the small screen and taking on a television series. The latest one to join those ranks is Amy Adams. She will take the reigns of the lead in the latest HBO limited series Sharp Objects which is the latest book to mini series production by Jean-Marc Vallée (who also directs Big Little Lies and the films Dallas Buyers Club and Wild.) The series is based on the book of the same name by Gillian Flynn, who also penned the hit thriller Gone Girl, so I am really interested in seeing where this project will go. Amy Adams is one whose style is always glamorous, but usually a little on the bland side. She tends to stick to the same colors and styles. I can’t say that I really pushed Amy’s boundaries of style with my wish for her to wear on this red carpet, but it is all at the same time. The shape of this white Dolce & Gabbana ‘Secrets & Diamonds’ collection sheath dress which features a square neckline and all over sequin and crystal embellishments is something that I can easily picture Amy being drawn to. What is a little more boundary pushing is the embellishments. We don’t often see Amy wear embellished patterns on the red carpet, but i definitely think that this would be a really chic moment for her to bring to this red carpet. I would add old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, defined eyes, red lips, a white Edie Parker ‘Jean’ acrylic clutch, a pair of white Aquazzura ‘Portrait of a Lady’ crystal detail slingback pumps, and a selection of Cartier jewels including diamond and emerald pendant drop earrings and a matching cocktail ring to really make this look the epitome of sparkling glamour for Amy to own the red carpet at this premiere. Patricia Clarkson is one of the ladies ‘of a certain age’ that refuses to stick to the box of what society says a woman of almost 60 should wear on the red carpet. She rewrites the rules and I love her for it. I am interested in seeing what she is cooking up for this premiere. While I tend to think a premiere like this would call for a cocktail ensemble over a gown I decided to #GoBigOrGoHome in picking this navy and periwinkle Christian Siriano Resort 2019 trumpet gown which features a high neck, diamond cutout on the bodice, long sleeves, and a sweeping train for Patricia to rock on this red carpet. It is strong and glamorous and I definitely think that Patricia would sell this look to me on this red carpet with great aplomb. A romantic updo, defined eyes, bright pink lips, simple diamond drop earrings, and a pair of anthracite grey velvet Jimmy Choo ‘Lucy’ pumps would all really make this a head to toe glamorous moment. Sydney Sweeney is a rising star of both the screen and the red carpets. This will be the eighth project that Sydney will have released this year alone. She has also been in hyped projects like the Cannes Film Festival selected film Under The Silver Lake and the hit Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale. She has also rocked coveted brands like Prada, Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra, and Giamba on the red carpets. So if she isn’t becoming one to watch then I don’t know who is. For the LA premiere of Sharp Objects I feel like this blush and lemon yellow Delpozo Resort 2019 strapless tea length gown which features delicate beaded embellishments and a mix of fabrications. This is a very flirty and feminine moment and I feel like that is exactly what we tend to see Sydney bring to the red carpet. I would ensure that this looks is flirty and feminine from head to toe styling this dress with a romantic updo, defined eyes, light pink lips, a peach Serupi crystal embellished clutch, and a pair of yellow gold, rose gold, and silver Gucci ‘Millie’ sandals.

The LA premiere of Sharp Objects will take place on Tuesday June 26, 2018.
