2018 Met Gala Red Carpet Wish List Part 14

There are just 15 more wishes I have for this years Met Gala red carpet. There are so many possibilities of who could be invited and rock the red carpet at this years gala and I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone will bring to the gala with the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” It has been a long time since Camilla Belle has been on the Met Gala red carpet, but I think that since her Jean Paul Gaultier Couture ‘Sacred Heart’ gown from the 2007 gala could very likely end up in this years exhibit it would be the perfect time for her to make her Met Gala red carpet return. She has had three other moments at past Met Galas including Ralph Lauren in 2012, Jason Wu in 2010, and Armani Prive in 2008. I think that she would be incredibly glamorous red Zac Posen Fall 2018 RTW strapless silk gown which features a sweetheart neckline, a corset bodice with gathered detail, and pleating throughout the skirt would be a really beautiful moment for Camilla to return to the Met Gala red carpet. I think that while this gown isn’t necessarily on theme that it would be beautiful. I have said several times that I think that red is going to be the color of the night, and I think that is the perfect way for Camilla to be on theme. I would ask Zac to custom make this gown for Camilla if I were her stylist adding an even more dramatic train to trail up those famous met steps. Add a stunning art deco inspired Van Cleef & Arpels diamond necklace, a chic updo, smokey eyes, simple nude lips, and a pair of statement red Jimmy Choo ‘Viola’ crystal embellished suede sandals with an ostrich feather tassel to really make this a stunning moment.Emmy Rossum is always one of my favorite stars to see on the red carpet, but she has been really low profile recently. I would love to see Emmy back on the Met Gala red carpet this year representing Carolina Herrera as a date of the iconic woman herself and the brands new creative director Wes Gordon. Emmy has been a guest of Carolina Herrera several times wearing pants in 2017, bright florals in 2014, and sleek mermaid in 2009. I think that Emmy would be a bright style star wearing this turquoise blue Carolina Herrera Fall 2018 RTW gown which features thin straps, a scoop neckline, a fitted bodice, draped detail down the side, and a side back train. The color is bold and the shape is classic. I would ask that the train be lengthened a little bit to add just a little more drama to this incredibly glamorous look. I would pair this gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, red lips, a silver crystal Judith Leiber rectangle clutch, a pair of silver Aquazzura ‘Chateau’ asymmetric crystal slingback sandals, and a selection of Tiffany & Co. jewels including a pair of aquamarine and diamond stud earrings and a beautiful aquamarine necklace to really compliment the glamour of this gown. Kate Hudson announced her pregnancy back on April 6, and I immediately thought oh shit what about the gown I picked for her to wear for the Met Gala? Will she go into hiding? Then I remembered that this wouldn’t be the first Met Gala red carpet she has graced with a baby bump. For the most part Kate has been a member of Stella McCartney’s “Stella’s Angel’s” wearing the famed designers brand in 2017, 2011, 2010, and 2009. She has only broken away from Stella twice wearing Atelier Versace in 2016 and Michael Kors in 2015. I would bet that she would wear another custom Stella McCartney gown in a glamorous baby bump embracing gown, but there wasn’t a look from the runway and I want to see her gown on the red carpet. I decided to go outside of the Stella brand and I think that this black and red Saint Laurent Fall 2018 RTW rose beaded dress (which was presented as a mini dress) would be perfect for Kate. The glamour of this look is elegant and sexy and I think that it would still be a beautiful look for Kate to rock with a baby bump. I kept the styling rather simple with her short pixie, defined eyes, red lips, a pair of black Saint Laurent ‘Amber Edie’ patent leather sandals, and a selection of Van Cleef & Arpels jewels including a pair of statement diamond and ruby pendant drop earrings and a diamond and ruby cocktail ring.Kristen Stewart was missed last year on the Met Gala red carpet. She might be getting better with her red carpet style, but she has never had a Met Gala moment that I have loved. She has worn Chanel in 2016, 2014, and 2010, Stella McCartney in 2013, Balenciaga in 2012, and Proenza Schouler in 2011. If she is back on the red carpet again this year I would think that Kristen will back wearing Chanel. I think that her edgy short hair with this black Chanel Fall 2018 RTW tea length halter gown is absolutely perfect for her style. Kristen loves a good tea length gown and I feel like she would definitely make this a really edgy glam moment for this red carpet. I think that with smokey eyes, a dark berry lips, black lace Christian Louboutin ‘Decollete’ silver spiked pointed toe pumps, and a pair of custom baroque inspired cross earrings would all really pull this look together, and that it would be Kristen’s best Met Gala moment ever. Rose Byrne has worn Ralph Lauren the last two years (2017 and 2016) on the Met Gala red carpet. Will she make it a three-peat if she is invited again this year? I don’t know. She has also shown up on this red carpet wearing Calvin Klein Collection and Marc Jacobs. I decided I would go for something new for her. She can make some really beautiful moments, and I would love to see her be the guest of Monique Lhuillier this year. I think that Rose would look incredibly glamorous wearing a customized version of this black velvet Monique Lhuillier Fall 2018 RTW midi gown which features a silver sequined ruffle neckline and asymmetrical hem. On it’s own I don’t think that this gown is Met Gala ready. It is incredibly beautiful on it’s own, but I think that if she added a really structured velvet train attached at the back of the hips. If she had those customized details added with a vintage inspired updo, defined eyes, red lips, a black Judith Leiber Couture ‘Reflection’ resin faceted box clutch, a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Fossiliza’ illusion sandals in clear vinyl with a black metallic fabric rosette, and a selection of Hueb diamonds including ‘Apus’ diamond cluster earrings and a ‘Luminus’ cocktail ring this would be a really beautiful moment for Rose.

The 2018 Met Gala will take place on the first Monday in May. May 7, 2018.
