2018 Tribeca Film Festival Red Carpet Wish List Part 6

Traditionally the Tribeca Film Festival is one of the more casual film festivals of the year, but I have this feeling that with the major wattage of star power that has films screening at this years festival that we might see the rules of glam rewritten. So many major style stars are in the films that I am actually really excited to see what will come this year. It might not deliver a Best Dressed of the Year worthy moment, but I feel like there are some really chic moments on the horizon.I have no idea if the premiere of Zoe but there are some good style stars in the films so I am really interested in seeing what they will bring to the red carpet. It has been a long time since I have loved anything that Christina Aguilera has worn on the red carpet, but I am hoping that on the Tribeca red carpet that she will be on rare top form. I think that going simple and classic is the perfect way for her to redeem herself. I think that this black Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 midi dress which features a long sleeve velvet bodice with a square scalloped neckline and a structured silk wool skirt would be a perfect choice to really help Christina get her red carpet mojo back. I think that if the fit and styling of this dress is perfect I think that could  just happen. I would style this look with full tight bouncy curls, winged eyeliner, bold red lips, a statement black swan Judith Leiber Couture crystal minaudiere, and simple black Valentino ‘Rockstud Glam’ crystal studded satin sandals to really ensure that this is a really gorgeous moment.Lea Seydoux also stars in Zoe alongside Christina Aguilera and I am really hoping that she makes the jaunt across the Atlantic from France to help promote the film at the Tribeca Film Festival. I used to love seeing Lea on the red carpet, then she inked her deal to be a face of Louis Vuitton. It has been over two years now and I haven’t loved one of her red carpet looks since. I begrudgingly picked another look from the brand for Lea knowing well and good that she will wear the brand whether I want her to or not. I do think that this black silk Louis Vuitton Fall 2018 RTW cocktail dress which features gold sequin embroidery, leather pointed collar, plunging neckline, and a belted waist is one of the few looks from the collection that could really work on the red carpet and I do think that if anyone could sell it to me that it would be Lea. Add a vintage inspired bob, winged eye liner, red lips, a black Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Malle’ clutch which features gold hardware and stud details, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Cross Fliketa’ strappy pumps to ensure that Lea finally really sells a Louis Vuitton moment to me on the red carpet. With cast members like Christina and Lea it really comes as a shock to me that I am most excited to see what Rashida Jones will wear for the Zoe premiere. The bohemian spirit that Rashida usually brings to the red carpet is exactly what I would usually expect to see on the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet. In fact she was one of the easiest stars to pick a look to rock for this festival. I definitely think that she would own this black Prabal Gurung Fall 2018 RTW long sleeve dress which features red floral print sash detailing with a midi length hemline. It is just glamorous enough for a Tribeca premiere, but still speaks to bohemian elegance perfectly and I think that with a sleek bun, defined eyed, nude lips, and a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Lucy’ pumps that this would be another chic moment for the red carpet. I definitely am interested in seeing what Hari Nef will bring to the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Mapplethorpe. She has been a Gucci darling for a long time now so I would expect nothing else but another really dazzling design from the designer. The quirky bohemian glam done in the most extra way possible is exactly what I would use to describe both Gucci as designed by Alessandro Michele and Hari’s style, so the partnership really works. For the red carpet at Tribeca I think that this black velvet Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 shift midi gown which features long sleeves, a high night, and bold lavender and yellow gold sequin details would be a really chic moment for Hari. This 80’s excess moment is having a return to the spotlight and I think that this dress really would make for a chic moment on the red carpet for Hari. Add teased crimped waves, purple smokey eyes, nude lips, and a pair of iridescent dark purple glitter Gucci ‘Soko’ bee detail block heel platform sandals to really ensure the look is glam from head to toe.Disobedience is another of the films that join the official selection at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival after having premiered first at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival last September. The film stars Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams, but with the latter being very pregnant right now I feel that the weight of presenting the film at Tribeca will fall solely on Mrs Weisz. I don’t really have a problem with that as I absolutely adore seeing her on the red carpet. I went for bold with this blue and red ombré Sies Marjan Fall 2018 RTW sleeveless pencil dress made of pony hair fabric which gives a really eye catching texture for the red carpet. I feel like if anyone could make this eye popping moment come to life it would be Rachel. I feel like that this dress would add a pop to her rather feminine and classic style. Chic waves, defined eyes, nude lips, a red satin Roger Vivier ‘Crystal Pilgrim Buckle’ clutch, and a pair of red Roger Vivier satin and velvet sandals all would make sure that Rachel is the definition of eye popping glamour.

The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival will open Wednesday April 18, 2018 and run through Sunday April 29, 2018.
