2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

The Independent Spirit Awards are one of the more laid back red carpet during Oscar week. On the eve of the Oscars many of the nominees and presenters (who are nominees and presenters at the Spirit Awards) will all take a trip to the beach to celebrate the best of independent cinema. I was thinking about some of the best looks from past years including Cate Blanchett in Gucci, Emma Stone in Monique Lhuillier, Taraji P. Henson in Giambattista Valli Couture, Olivia Munn in Prabal Gurung, and Olivia Wilde in Ralph Lauren. These looks are wide and varied, but they all worked on this red carpet. That is what I love about this red carpet pretty much anything goes, and I am really excited to see what the stars will bring this year.Allison Williams worked the promotional dog and pony show trail last year campaigning hard for awards nominations for Get Out. Since the beginning of awards season Allison has been on every red carpet where the film has been nominated at and I think that we will continue to see her on the red carpet at the Spirit Awards. She knows how to do really feminine glamour on the red carpet and I think that she would definitely sell this pink floral Brock Collection Fall 2018 RTW dress which features velvet bow tie straps, ruffled neck, ruffled peplum waist, and an asymmetrical ruffle hem for this red carpet. It meshes classic feminine glamour and bohemian spirit and I think that Allison would definitely be able to sell that to me, especially on the Spirit Awards red carpet. I think that if she styled this dress with a romantic updo, smokey eye, dusty rose pink lips, antique rose velvet Aquazzura ‘Purist’ sandals, and a pair of Nikos Koulis yellow gold and pink coral earrings all would make this look the definition of bohemian femininity. Holly Hunter was nominated for a Critics Choice and SAG Award for her performance in The Big Sick and her awards season will end next Saturday at the Film Independent Spirit Awards where she is nominated for Best Supporting Female for her role in the film. Holly has been one that I haven’t really paid much attention to this awards season, and I don’t have big expectations for what she will wear on the red carpet at the Spirit Awards. I think that if she stepped onto the Spirit Awards red carpet wearing this amethyst Pamella Roland Fall 2018 RTW suit which features an asymmetrical blazer and straight leg pants that she would be able to end awards season on a high note. I would ask Pamella to create a sleeveless shell top in champagne silk to really make this a chic moment. I think that loose waves, defined eyes, nude lips, and a pair of black Casadei low heel pointed toe pumps would all make this a really chic, slightly fashion-y moment for Holly to end her awards season run in style.Lily Collins was one of the presenters for the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards nominations back in December, and per the history of the stars who announce the nominations I am expecting that she is going to be one of the presenters at next Saturday nights awards show. I love me a cute Lily Collins moment on the red carpet and I feel like she is going to be deliver a really chic moment on the red carpet. I think that this coastal blue Ralph Lauren Spring 2018 RTW bleached denim printed cocktail dress which features a square neckline with spaghetti straps and a feathered skirt is a perfect look for her to rock for the Spirit Awards. Denim isn’t necessarily the first thing you think of when you think red carpet, but I think that for this red carpet where laid back glamour is the key to a winning look that this would be a perfect platform for this dress to have a real red carpet moment. I would style this dress with old Hollywood waves, simple defined eyes, pink lips, a pair of navy glitter Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Lola Pearl’ sandals, and Tiffany & Co. diamond and sapphire fringe earrings to ensure that this is a perfect moment for Lily.Mary J. Blige has just continued to get better and better with her style choices this awards season. She has been working with power stylist Law Roach and the two have been making real magic on red carpets recently. I feel like this gunmetal grey sequined Oscar de la Renta Fall 2018 RTW long sleeve shift midi dress is a really chic moment and I think that Mary would take this dress and really chic moment for her to rock on the Spirit Awards red carpet. Mary isn’t one that I think of bohemian style for, but I think that this tough, armor like midi dress is the perfect way for Mary to still fit the vibe of the Spirit Awards red carpet. I think that the dress is a chic moment for the red carpet so I would keep the styling rather simple. Sleek hair tucked behind her ears, smokey eye, dark red lips, and a pair of black Sergio Rossi ‘Amber’ cage sandals would add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Mary. Finishing out today is Best Leading Actress nominee Salma Hayek, who earned her nomination for her performance in Beatriz for Dinner. I have a love hate relationship with Salma’s style and I am praying that at the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards that we see a really glamorous moment from her on the red carpet. I think that this glamorous black Saint Laurent draped asymmetrical cocktail dress with shooting star embellishment would be a really chic and glamorous moment for Salma to rock for the Spirit Awards red carpet. I would style this look with a black sequin Saint Laurent ‘Sac De Jour’ clutch, glamorous old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Saint Laurent ‘Anja’ crystal studded pumps to make sure this is a really glamorous moment for Salma.

The 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards will take place on Saturday March 3, 2018.
