I can’t believe that we are a week and a half away from Oscar night 2018! I have five (including this one) more wish lists for the Oscar parties. I am getting really excited. It seems like everyday that we are getting more and more announcements of who will be attending this years Academy Awards and I am setting expectations high based on the red carpet performance that stars have been giving so far this awards season. We might have had blackouts on the Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards red carpets, but stars still really brought it. There hasn’t been an announcement of any wardrobe protest for the Oscars this year, and I am praying that just strong women supporting strong women while delivering exactly what they want on the red carpet will be the trend come Oscar night. Last year on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet Demi Lovato gave us frothy princess vibes in a ruffled Monique Lhuillier lilac ball gown, and I am praying to the fashion gods that she shows up on the magazines party red carpet this year giving another really bold look on the red carpet. For this years party I kept the princess gown with this red Zuhair Murad Spring 2018 Couture ball gown which features a plunging neckline and Native American inspired beading, but this style is in complete contrast to the gown she wore last year. This look is more mature and regal glam instead of frothy and feminine. This gown screams sexy queen of hearts and I definitely think that Demi could sell this look to me on the red carpet. I would style this gown with a sleek high bun, smokey eyes, dark red lips, a pair of red Aquazzura ‘Lily of the Valley’ sandals, and a pair of IVY New York ‘Cascada’ earrings made up to rubies and moonstones to really ensure that this is a really great moment for Demi. Supermodel Jasmine Sanders to me is one of the most underrated models to walk the red carpets. She knows how to deliver something really chic and glamorous on the red carpet. Often it seems when her fellow models are wearing short or sheer that Jasmine is giving sophisticated elegance. She knows how to deliver drama and glamour so when I saw this dark red Marchesa Fall 2018 RTW strapless gown which features a ruffled hip peplum, a-line skirt, and a dramatic skirt I swapped the original gown that I had picked for Jasmine to rock on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party, if she steps out on Oscar night this year. A pair of red Gianvito Rossi ‘Stark’ sandals which features patent straps around the ankle and crossed plexi bands toe, a sleek updo, smokey eyes, matching red lips, and a selection of vintage Bulgari ruby and diamond jewelry including a pair of floral ear clips and a statement bracelet all would ensure that this is just yet another really major moment for Jasmine. If you have been a regular reader you might know how much I am loving this newfound edgy Marion Cotillard who has been having so much fun with fashion since being released from Dior ambassador duties. Last month she made the rounds at several of the couture shows in Paris and I am sure that we will see her snatch something off one of those runways for Oscar night. I had originally picked a gown for Marion to wear, but then I changed to a cocktail dress, and ultimately I decided I wanted to see Marion really give us something new so I thought this silver neck to cuff silver sequin embellished Chanel Spring 2018 Couture sleeveless jumpsuit would be a really great look for Marion to snatch off the runway. I know that it would be a bit of fight to get her hands on this jumpsuit as I am sure that Kristen Stewart and Evan Rachel Wood will be all over this look too, but I definitely think that Marion would take it and make it a major refreshing change of pace for Oscar night. I would mesh classic and modern glamour to really ensure that this look is amazing from head to toe. I think that a 40’s victory roll inspired updo, smokey eyes, red lips, a pair of silver Gianvito Rossi ‘Kim’ strappy sandals, and a pop of color via Chopard Red Carpet Collection diamond and sapphire drop earrings all would add the perfect finishing touches to this look. Rosie Huntington Whiteley knows how to ooze sophisticated glamour on what ever red carpet she steps out on. On the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet she has given us all different styles of glamour wearing designs from Atelier Versace, Cushnie et Ochs, Antonio Berardi, Valentino Couture, and Alexandre Vauthier Couture in the past. For this years Vanity Fair party I went back into the Armani Prive archives for the perfect look for Rosie. I feel like she would definitely be one that would be able to really take this navy Armani Prive Spring 2015 Couture gown which features a solid asymmetrical silk one shoulder bodice and a crystal net skirt and make it the chic effortless glam moment on the red carpet especially if she pairs it with a sleek low bun, navy smokey eyes, rose pink lips, a navy velvet Gucci ‘Dionysus’ clutch, a pair of simple navy Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Sophie’ patent leather sandals, and dainty yet modern Nirav Modi diamond cascade earrings. I think I would fall over with glamour. Zendaya has been to pre-Oscar galas, the Oscars themselves, but she has never been to one of the big Oscar parties, and I want that to change this year. The gorgeous young starlet is a fashion maven and would definitely shut down any red carpet she stepped onto. For this years Oscar parties I would love to see Zendaya rock the red carpet wearing this avant garde Viktor & Rolf Spring 2018 Couture gown. We have seen a resurgence of Viktor & Rolf this year and Zendaya has been a big fan of the brand recently. As soon as I saw this strapless a-line trumpet gown which features a salmon pink bustier, a teal and lavender ribbon plaid skirt, and a navy blue hem pop up on NowFashion she immediately came to mind. I don’t think many could really make this gown come to life on the red carpet, but I do think Zendaya could. To really ensure that this is a major moment I would let the gown be the focus of the look adding a pair of navy Charlotte Olympia satin platform pumps, a sleek banged bob, navy defined smokey eyes, light pink lips, and a beautiful Mikimoto baroque golden south sea cultured pearl pavé diamond vine necklace.
Oscar Night 2018 is Sunday March 4, 2018.
