2018 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 13

Oh honeys the glamour on the BAFTA Awards red carpet last night has me so excited for Oscar night next Sunday. It may have been another red carpet black out but the stars BROUGHT it. Before I get to my Oscars ceremony wishes I am still going through the motions of my Oscar party wishes. The parties can sometimes deliver really awesome moments because they don’t have the same pressure as the red carpets at the ceremony for nominees and presenters! I was really surprised that last year on the heels of her Golden Globe and SAG Award wins for her performance in The Crown that Claire Foy wasn’t on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party. While she might not have won any of those trophies again this year she is on the cover of the Vanity Fair ‘Hollywood Issue’ and it would really surprise me if she isn’t on the red carpet at the magazines annual Oscar bash this year. Instead of a big gown or a sleek suit I decided to pick something a little unexpected with this white Osman Spring 2018 RTW ensemble which features an oversized white button down tied at the waist and an ostrich feather midi skirt. I think that this chic menswear inspired moment is a perfect look for Claire. She can be very up and down with her style and I think that this would fit right in with the vibe that she has been giving lately. I would keep the look really simple with a sleek side parted hairstyle, simple but defined eyes, a punchy bold matte red lip, sky blue and silver Prada jacquard platform sandals adding a statement Panthère de Cartier High Jewellery necklace made up of aquamarine, tourmalines, emeralds, onyx to really ensure that Claire delivers a gorgeous moment for her first Vanity Fair party red carpet.Would it be an Oscar night without an appearance from Heidi Klum? I doubt it. Heidi is one of the co-hosts of this years Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar viewing party and I am expecting two looks from the supermodel on Oscar night. She has stepped out several times this years wearing Ashi Studio Couture, Georges Hobeika Couture, Alex Perry, Ashi Studio RTW, and Zuhair Murad Couture. None of them have been chic or memorable. Some of them were the second time we have seen them on the red carpet. I have much higher expectations than what she has delivered this year and I am holding out hope that on Oscar night this year she will redeem herself. For the Elton John red carpet I went to sleek and sexy, but in a covered up and glamorous manner with this black Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2018 one sleeved gown which features a black and gold beaded shoulder and a column skirt. I feel like while this gown is black I feel like Heidi could really deliver it as a major chic moment on the Elton John party red carpet especially when paired with a sleek updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pair of gold Christian Louboutin ‘Jonatina’ PVC strap sandals, and statement Lorraine Schwartz nude diamond pendant earrings. For a wardrobe change I would love to see Heidi turn from sleek and sexy to nothing but glamour via this silver Zuhair Murad Spring 2018 Couture evening gown which features a draped peplum train, column skirt, plunging neckline, and all over beaded embroidery. This is a lot more of a dramatic take on glamour that we are used to seeing Heidi on the red carpet, but I think that for a red carpet like the Vanity Fair party that it would really make this a big glam moment on the red carpet. I would have the gown lined because I am sick of Heidi in her naked dresses. Finish the lined gown with silver Christian Louboutin ‘Twistissima Strass’ strappy embellished mesh pumps, old Hollywood waves, smokey eyes, red lips, and a pair of Lorraine Schwartz emerald cut diamond earrings to make sure that Heidi is on top of her game on Oscar night, Michelle Dockery is another of the many celebrity co-hosts of the Elton John Oscar viewing party and I am really interested in seeing what she will wear this year. While a new Oscar de la Renta collection came down the runway during New York Fashion Week I am still in love with looks some of the gowns from the brands Spring 2018 RTW collection, and I think that Michelle should grab one of them off the September runway. I think that she would shut the Elton John party red carpet down wearing this navy Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018 RTW column gown crafted from lustrous silk-gazar which features bright gold paillettes embroidered in a paint-dripping motif from the strapless neckline. I am really surprised that this gown hasn’t been worn on a red carpet this awards season, but I feel since we have had so many red carpet blackouts and whiteouts that it just has been tossed to the side, and that is just a sad fact. I think that giving this gown and Oscar night moment with a gold ombre Judith Leiber Couture ‘Slim Slide’ crystal evening clutch, sleek romantic updo, defined eyes, a bright pink lip, navy Christian Louboutin ‘Corneille’ suede pumps, and a pair of white and yellow diamond Van Cleef & Arpels floral drop earrings would ensure another beautiful moment for Michelle. Reese Witherspoon will be on the promotional trail for A Wrinkle In Time in full force by the time Oscar night rolls around and it wouldn’t surprise me to see her on any of the Oscar night red carpets. She hasn’t been one of the announced presenters yet, but I feel like that even if she isn’t an official Oscars presenter I feel that since she is on the cover of the Vanity Fair ‘Hollywood Issue’ that she will be on the red carpet at the magazines annual gala. One of Reese’s most iconic looks ever is the vintage Christian Dior Couture gown she wore the year she won her Oscar, and I feel like the classic glamour that can be evoked by wearing a vintage look on the red carpet fits with Reese’s style perfectly. This Jean Dessès cocktail dress from 1959 is a truly timeless evocation of glamour and I think that Reese would look so incredibly glamorous in it. Constructed in a vivid shade of fuchsia pink chiffon, the front of the dress is horizontally pleated from the bust to the hem, while an internal boned corset adds structure. Panels of chiffon to the rear of bust and waist, cascade down the back to create a full, flowing skirt, while a cowled shawl falls across the top of the back and can be worn on the head for added drama, and all that I think would make for a really major moment for Reese to wear for the Vanity Fair Oscar party. I would want to keep the styling really flirty and feminine with a romantic updo, matching fuchsia pink lips, defined eyes, a pair of pink floral Rene Caovilla crystal embellished snake coil sandals, and Tiffany & Co. earrings with pear-shaped pink morganites and diamonds to really make this an eye popping moment of glamour for Reese. Winnie Harlow knows how to serve a look on the red carpet and I am really praying that she will step out for the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party delivering another really major moment. She rocked a chic Brandon Maxwell sweater and mint draped evening skirt for the British Fashion Awards back in December of 2017 and I think that going back to the brand for an Oscar night moment would be a great idea. I think that if anyone could take this pistachio Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 RTW strapless ballgown which is made up of leopard patterned silk jacquard and features a belted waist and a gathered strapless bodice and make it a really major Oscar night moment I feel like Winnie could. She knows to to take big ball gowns and wear them. She doesn’t let them wear her. I feel the same way about this gown that I have about many other gowns this awards season that it has gotten no love because of the single color protests, but I feel like it is perfection for an Oscar night red carpet. A dramatic high bun updo, smokey eyes, light pink lips, everest blue Christian Louboutin ‘Botticella Alta’ platform sandals, and a pair of statement Cartier High Jewelry fringe earrings made up of sapphires, emeralds, paraiba tourmalines, and diamonds would all really turn this gown into even more of a major moment than it was on the red carpet.

Oscar Night 2018 is Sunday March 4, 2018.
