2018 BAFTA Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

Did you think that because I was taking a break from Oscar party wishes that I was only going to be posting one wish list a day? WRONG! I feel like I have learned about a whole lot more of the stars who will be attending this years ceremony so I am digging in and making as many wishes as I possibly can to ensure that this red carpet is really major. We have another red carpet blackout coming our way this Sunday at the BAFTA Awards, and I am praying that it will be just as good (if not better) than what happened at the Golden Globe Awards. The lovely ladies nominated, presenting, and just attending this years BAFTA Awards I am praying that they bring their a-game. Angelina Jolie knows how to do black on the red carpet and I am praying that she will deliver a really gorgeous moment on Sunday at the BAFTA’s where her film First They Killed My Father is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. At the Globes Angie rocked the feather trend giving us late 60’s palm springs socialite (in black) wearing custom Atelier Versace. In the past the BAFTA red carpet has been really good to Angie. She has given major moments in Armani Prive and Saint Laurent, and this year I decided to dig into the latest collection from another of Angelina’s favorite designers Ralph & Russo. Since it is a British red carpet I would expect at least one Ralph & Russo moment on the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards, and I definitely think that Angelina would be the perfect person to do just that. This black velvet Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 Couture column gown embellished with over 2000 gold and smoked topaz Swarovski crystal stones, featuring an asymmetric sleeve. Tassels made from over 50 meters of black and gold metal chain have been complimented with Swarovski crystals and stone and hand applied to the sash. It makes for a very classic and glam moment and I know that Angie would be able to really make that come to life on the red carpet. Style it with a chic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, red lips, a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Aketata’ peep toe platform sandals, and vintage 18k gold set Harry Winston diamond and emerald cluster earrings to really ensure that this is a truly regal moment. Greta Gerwig may have lost the Best Original Screenplay trophy at the Writers Guild Awards this past weekend, but I am still holding out hope that she will be honored several more times before awards season is over for her work as the screenwriter and director of Lady Bird. She has been killing the fashion game most of awards season and I am really excited to see what else lies ahead for her. Following the chic Oscar de la Renta gown paired with a statement Tiffany & Co. necklace at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this year, the Bottega Veneta gown that she wore for the SAG Awards, and the Fendi gown she wore for the Critics Choice Awards I know that I am really interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards. Greta wears black very well, but I want to see her up the game a little bit. I think that if she stepped out wearing this black Armani Prive Spring 2015 Couture strapless gown which features top to toe beaded embroidery and a black and blue obi style belt to add a pop of color to the look. I definitely think that this gown is really chic and that Greta would be the perfect person to pull it out of the Armani Prive archive. I would let the more relaxed glamour of the gown to really ensure that this is a major moment. A sleek hairstyle, kohl rimmed eyes, red lips, black Gianvito Rossi suede slide buckle mule sandals, and a pair of vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and sapphire ear clips would ensure that is exactly what this look is, head to toe perfection. Laurie Metcalf has really surprised me this awards season with the looks that she has worn on the red carpet. With looks from Temperley London, Sachin + Babi, and Cristina Ottaviano so far this season and I am really enjoying seeing her grow and have fun with glamour. For the BAFTA Awards I went left of the type of designers that Laurie has worn so far this year and put her in this black Lanvin Spring 2018 RTW column gown which gown features a bateau neckline, metal mesh cap sleeves, and a maxi length. I think that this chic moment would be a step up from what we have seen Laurie wearing this awards season so far, and do it in a really chic way. The gown would be perfectly complimented with a romantic updo, kohl rimmed eyes, glossy nude lips, black Prada jeweled broach embellished mary jane pumps, and a pair of pink spinel and diamond IVY New York pendant drop earrings to really ensure that this is a majorly chic moment for Laurie. Octavia Spencer has really let me down so far this awards season. I know that she has so much more potential than what she has given us this awards season and I am praying that the final push this year gives us a much more glamorous style than what she has been. For the BAFTA Awards, where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, I went to her favorite designer Tadashi Shoji to pick the perfect look. I think that this black Tadashi Shoji ‘Travere’ gown which features sheer blousant sleeves with a mini bell cuff effect, sheer illusion bodice, sweetheart neckline detailed in soft black lace, and a column skirt is the perfect mesh of modern glamour and Victorian inspiration and I think that with the red carpet blackout. I feel like this is a really chic statement and I know that Octavia could sell it to me. I would love to see Octavia style it with a statement fuchsia rose print Tadashi Shoji ‘Carrie’ clutch, a sleek low bun, smokey eye, dark red lips, a pair of black Jimmy Choo ‘Ren’ cage sandals, and a pair of vintage 18k gold David Webb ruby, diamond, and onyx ear clips from Beladora to really put her back on track with a gorgeous moment. Timothee Chalamet is the only male nominee that I am really excited to see on any red carpets. He has been having fun with color and wears some really great jackets for some of the more casual red carpets he walks. He is a huge friend to the house of Berluti, and ahead of the announcement of the blackout I had picked a really chic light pink suit for Timmy to wear, but I did swap it for a look to stand in solidarity with the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements. I definitely think that This black Dior Homme Fall 2018 Menswear double breasted suit with a crisp white shirt is a chic menswear moment for Timothee. When the dress code is strictly black menswear can be very boring, and while this probably wouldn’t make my Best Dressed Men of the Year list, it would be a very classically chic moment. I would add a black skinny tie and a pair of black Christian Louboutin ‘Sopeter’ classic oxfords reworked in a slightly wider fit and finished with a rugged rubber lug sole to round this look out perfectly for Timothee.

The 2018 BAFTA Awards are Sunday February 18, 2018.
