Before I finish all of my Oscar Party wishes and get into my wishes for the actual ceremony I have two other events to cover. So after this post we I will be taking a quick break from my Oscar night wishes to focus on my BAFTA Awards and Costume Designers Guild Awards wishes. But with that being said there are still 5 wishes that stand between then and now. Brie Larson isn’t nominated this year, and isn’t yet announced as a presenter at this years Oscars, so I actually have no idea if she will be on the red carpets come Oscar night. I am hoping that she will be though. She has given some chic moments at the Vanity Fair party in the past wearing beautiful gowns from Monse, Dolce & Gabbana, and Ralph & Russo Couture and I am interested to see what she would wear this year. When I pick things to modify I usually stick to runway pieces, but in this case I am wanting to see Brie’s stylist Samantha McMillan call up Gucci and have them create a custom gown based on this mauve double satin dress which features contrast satin self-tie waistband, lace detail bodice, ribbon straps, square neckline, and a rise and fall hem. I would want the skirt to be lengthened so that the longest part of the high low hem its the floor and then begins a dramatic train trailing behind it. I feel like this chic, more bohemian take on glamour would definitely be a really great moment for Brie. I would keep the styling really chic adding a sleek low bun, smokey eyes, dusty rose lips, a pair of Tiffany & Co. white and pink diamond pendant earrings, and silver Gucci ‘Allie’ crystal bow metallic leather sandal with pearlescent trim.Greta Gerwig is nominated for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay at this year Oscars and I am really excited to see what she will bring to the red carpets on Oscar night. I am still on the hunt for the perfect gown for Greta to wear on the red carpet at the ceremony, but I know I want her to have two really major moments that night. Her last Vanity Fair gown was a Narciso Rodriguez gown that would have been really good had it fit perfectly, but it didn’t. I went back and forth on so many ideas for the perfect look for Greta to rock for the Vanity Fair red carpet, and ultimately decided that this black Brandon Maxwell Fall 2018 RTW ensemble which features a silk one shoulder top with a cape and high waisted tuxedo pants would be the perfect look for her to rock. When I first saw this look come down the runway I was thinking that it could be a really cool look for Greta to rock on the red carpet at the actual ceremony, but after talking it through with some friends I thought that a pants look would be much better suited for the Vanity Fair red carpet. Add a pair of black Charlotte Olympia ‘Eugenie’ peep toe platform sandals with a silver crystal heel, a chic coif, defined eyes, red lips, and vintage Harry Winston diamond and emerald cluster earrings to really ensure that this is a really chic wardrobe change for Greta. Lily Collins always delivers a magical moment on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet. From Monique Lhuillier to Zuhair Murad Couture and Saint Laurent to Elie Saab Couture we know that when Lily steps out for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party that we are in for a chic moment on the red carpet. I wanted to go for something a little more out there than Lily has worn for this red carpet in the past picking this beige Alexander McQueen Spring 2018 RTW ball gown which features an asymmetrical neck and hem and 3-D floral embroidery. This avant garde gown is definitely not for the fashionable faint of heart, but I definitely think that Lily would more than do this gown justice on the red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, red lips, and a pair of nude Rene Caovilla crystal studded satin platform sandals all would really ensure that Lily lets the gown be the focus of this look to deliver a beautiful moment on the red carpet. Last year Petra Nemcova attended both the Elton John AIDS Foundation and the Vanity Fair Oscar parties, wearing different gowns for each. The nude Georges Chakra Couture gown she wore for Elton John was a hot mess but the orange sequined Elie Saab gown she wore for Vanity Fair was actually quite beautiful. I would expect her to once again give two different gowns on Oscar night, but two really gorgeous moments. I would love to see Petra on the Elton John red carpet wearing this yellow sleeveless Georges Chakra Spring 2018 Couture fit to flare gown which features an ombré feathered hem. The gown just delivers bright, cheery glamour and I definitely think that Petra would look so beautiful on this red carpet wearing this gown. Pair it with yellow Christian Louboutin patent pointed toe pumps, old Hollywood waves, a simple defined eye, bright pink lips, and a pair of Chopard white and yellow diamond cluster drop earrings to really ensure that it makes up for that nude disaster last year. For her wardrobe change for the Vanity Fair party red carpet I decided to stick with Georges Chakra, but opting to go to the brands Fall 2017 Couture collection with this burgundy red velvet gown which features a cold shoulder detail, column skirt, and dramatic train. It would honestly really surprise me if this gown isn’t worn on Oscar night. It checks all of the typical boxes for an Oscar gown and I think that Petra would definitely deliver this gown is a really chic manner paring it with black Gianvito Rossi ‘Love Heart’ sandals, a sleek updo, smokey eyes, light pink lips, and a pair of Chopard Red Carpet Collection ruby and diamond chandelier earrings.Finishing out today is Tiffany Haddish who helped announce the nominees for this years Academy Awards with Andy Serkis last month. The Academy is holding out on announcing presenters for this years ceremony until we start getting closer to the actual date of the ceremony. I would however bet that Tiffany is one who is selected to help celebrate the best in talent from the last year. I am still on the hunt for a great Oscar ceremony gown just in case Tiffany is nominated, but it was pretty easy for be to decided to head over to Walter Collection for the gown for her to wear for Vanity Fair. Earlier this year Tiffany was honored at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards and she collected it wearing a navy draped Walter Collection gown. For Vanity Fair I would love to see Tiffany hit the red carpet wearing this very simple strapless red Walter Collection mermaid gown. The gown is really basic and really simple, but I think that Tiffany’s personality is what would make this a major moment. I would finish it with a sleek high bun, smokey eye, bold red lips, diamond stud earrings, a pair of red satin Christian Louboutin ‘Tres Frais’ flamenco crepe sandals, and a statement deGrisogono diamond and ruby collar necklace.
Oscar Night 2018 will take place on Sunday March 6, 2018.
