What makes Oscar night is such a major night of fashion is that we don’t just have the looks that are seen on E! Live From The Red Carpet at the main ceremony, but there are so many red carpets that surround it. The two biggest are the Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala and the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. Some stars will hit just one of these red carpets, some will hit two, and others will hit all three! Over the course of an Oscar night we can see upwards of 300 looks on the red carpet.Allison Williams is one of the stars of the Best Picture nominated Get Out and has been out walking red carpets promoting the film real hard, so I am sure that she will be out on Oscar night. I would imagine that she will be a presenter at the main show, but that isn’t confirmed yet. I would also imagine that no matter what that Allison will be on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. I wanted to pick an Oscar de la Renta gown for her, but wasn’t thrilled with any of the gowns from the Spring 2018 or Pre-Fall 2018 collections, so I went to the virtual racks of FarFetch. I definitely think this teal Oscar de la Renta silk ruffle draped gown which features a strapless neckline, a fitted waist, a long length, an asymmetric hem, and a dramatic train would be a really great moment for this red carpet. Usually stars go from ball gowns at the main show to simpler gowns for the after-parties, but I think that this high low hem is what makes this a perfect look for Allison to rock on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet. Styling it with old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, a smokey eye, red lips, a pair of black satin Oscar de la Renta cross front mules, and a statement Bulgari High Jewelry diamond floral necklace would all ensure this is a beautiful moment.Emma Roberts is one that we usually see on the red carpets on Oscar night. Last year she was an ambassador for the Green Carpet Challenge wearing two archive Armani Prive gowns, one for the actual Oscars ceremony and one for the Vanity Fair party. They rotate those ambassadors every year, but I am still expecting some red carpet moment from Emma this year. I would love to see Emma deliver simple glamour wearing this black Azzaro Fall 2017 Couture halter gown which features silver beaded stripes and a column silhouette. This is a very classic gown, but for someone like Emma I think it’s a great option for an Oscar party red carpet. A silver Judith Leiber Couture crystal encrusted clutch, sleek hair tucked behind the ears, a smokey eye, red lips, a pair of tonal grey Casadei ‘Techno Blade’ sandals, and Forevermark diamond drop earrings all would add the perfect touches to make this a major modern glam moment.Kate Bosworth has given some of my favorite Vanity Fair Party red carpet moments wearing the likes of J. Mendel, Valentino, Giambattista Valli Couture, Prabal Gurung, and Ralph & Russo and I am praying that she will give another really mahjor FASHUN moment this year. There weren’t many gowns on the runway at the Armani Prive Spring 2018 Couture presentation, but I definitely think that this red and blue watercolor inspired moment would be a really major moment on Kate. There are very few people who I think could take this gown and wear it and not let get lost in the sculptural draped organza skirt, but Kate is one of those few. I can picture her owning this red carpet wearing this gown with chic finger waves, a simple defined eye, red lips, a pair of navy satin Jimmy Choo ‘Alexa’ pumps, and a pair of Tiffany & Co. diamond and blue tanzanite drop earrings. Nicole Kidman is on the cover of the 2018 Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue and I have no idea if she will be on the red carpet at the magazines Oscar party or not, but I am really hopeful. It has been a while since Nicole has been seen on a Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet, over a decade, but I feel it in my soul that she will do it right this year. I would love to see Nicole give this sleek black Valentino Spring 2018 Couture sleeveless a-line gown on this red carpet. I think that as a star of the Hollywood issue, but not one of the nominees at the Oscars that this look would be a perfect look for her to rock on this red carpet. I would add a statement vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and emerald necklace to some simple styling including a sleek updo, kohl rimmed eyes, red lips, and a pair of black Sergio Rossi PVC detail ankle wrap sandals to really make this look perfect for this red carpet. I can’t believe that it was just about a year ago that we got really introduced Sofia Boutella when she wore hot off the runway Chanel Couture to present at the Oscars last year. I slowly got used to her Bette Paige bangs and when she worked with Karla Welch on the promo tour for The Mummy I got even more into her style. I would love to see her step out for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party jumping into the archives and picking this black sequin Francesco Scognamiglio Fall 2016 Couture strapless gown which features silver and fuchsia leaf embroidery on the neckline and a column silhouette. I think the colors would be gorgeous against Sofia’s skin and she would just look so glamorously statuesque. Style the look with black Christian Louboutin ‘Balavenezia’ platform lace sandals, a romantic updo, smokey eyes, fuchsia lips, and a pair of Cartier chandelier diamond earrings to really ensure that this is another amazing moment for Sofia.
Oscar Night 2018 will take place on Sunday March 6, 2018.
