Welcome to Grammy week! I have a lot of wishes for the red carpet at the 2018 Grammy Awards, but before I get into what I want stars to wear on that red carpet I wanted to put out some wishes for some of the pre-Grammy galas that will take place this week. Every year there are two really big Grammy Academy sponsored galas. The MusiCares Person of the Year gala and the Clive Davis Salute to Industry Icons gala are always star studded red carpets and I am really excited to see what the will bring this year. The 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Fleetwood Mac will take place on Friday (January 26) and the 2018 Clive Davis GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons honoring Jay-Z will take place on Saturday (January 27,) and with the names who have been floated around to attend these different events we are in for a real treat on the red carpets this week. I think it is a no-brainier that at the Clive Davis GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons that Jay-Z’s wife the illustrious Beyonce will undoubtedly in in attendance. It seemed for a little while that the road is rocky with Jay and Bey, but against all the odds of fights, cheating, and more being played out in the media they have made it through all that. So I went to the runways shopping for a great moment for Beyonce to wear on the red carpet at the Clive Davis party and I thought that this black Atelier Versace Fall 2016 Couture asymmetrical gown which features one sleeve, cutout details, ruffle detail, oxblood and black sequin detail, a daring split and a train would be the perfect moment for her to wear on this red carpet. The edgy, dramatic glamour of this gown is easy for me to picture Bey being drawn to. A tight high sleek pony, thick winged eyeliner, dark bordeaux red lips, a matching dark red Tyler Ellis ‘Lily’ marbled plexi clutch, black crystal embellished Sergio Rossi side zip sandals, and a pair of Tu’s Jewelry chandelier earrings all would really make sure that this look just screams ‘yonce. John Legend is performing at the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Fleetwood Mac so it would only make sense that we see is gorgeous wife Chrissy Teigan on the red carpet right beside him. I decided to look to the vibe of Fleetwood Mac for Chrissy to wear on the red carpet next to John with this red/orange Etro Spring 2018 RTW handkerchief print gown which features a halter neckline with fringe on tie, long off the shoulder sleeves, and metallic detail throughout. I think that this chic runway moment would drape over Chrissy’s burgeoning baby bump in such a chic way. I don’t feel like many pregnant women would be able to make this look work, but with all her model knowledge I know that Chrissy could. Add a simple black Alexander McQueen ‘Queen and King’ skull clasp box clutch, a sleek hairstyle tucked behind the ears, a simple eye, dark red lips, a pair of gold Jimmy Choo ‘Lane’ sandals, and simple Annoushka garnet shard earrings to really ensure this look is perfection. Lorde is also going to be performing at the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year Gala and I have to say I am really excited to see what she and her stylist Karla Welch have in store for Grammy Week. Lorde definitely knows how to be a little bit of a fashion chameleon, but everything she wears seems very authentic. Her favorite color to wear on the red carpet is black and I am sticking to that box with this sheer black Jason Wu Spring 2018 RTW sleeveless gown which features an asymmetrical bodice and a pleated skirt. This gown screams Lorde to me and I think that it would be a great option for her to rock on a red carpet that will honor Fleetwood Mac. I would style the look with a simple pair of black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, a defined eye, red lip, loose waves, and a selection of Anita Ko jewels including diamond arrow stud earrings, an 18k gold and diamond bangle, and a diamond coil bracelet to make sure that give the look gives off the vibe of simple sophistication.I am praying that since last night was the last red carpet for Nicole Kidman on the road with Big Little Lies that she will be running to NYC to stand by Keith Urban as he partakes in Grammy week activities. He will be another of the performers at the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala and I want to see Nicole really serve up something chic and sexy while playing the role of his arm candy. I would love to see Nicole step onto this red carpet wearing this black and silver Ralph Lauren Fall 2017 RTW houndstooth beaded gown which features a sheath silhouette with a floor length hem, long sleeves, and a turtleneck. It screams modern glamour in a very sexy way even though it is completely covered. My only hesitation on the front of this moment is that her Big Little Lies co-star Shailene Woodley wore the top version of this gown with a big tulle skirt for the 2018 Golden Globe Awards. I think that each dress is different enough that each should be lauded as an individual. I think that with sleek center parted hair tucked behind the ears, a defined eye, nude lip, silver stingray Tyler Ellis ‘Aimee’ clutch, a pair of black Manolo Blahnik ‘Catalina’ feather embellished sandals, and simple art deco Cartier diamond cluster earrings that Nicole would have the perfect plus one moment on this red carpet. I don’t know if Rihanna will be at any of the pre-Grammy gala’s but since she has a personal friendship with Jay-Z it would surprise me if she isn’t at the Clive Davis GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons Gala this coming Saturday night. As regular readers my know I love seeing Rihanna on the red carpet and I feel like she will serve a moment on this red carpet like she has in the past wearing Gucci and Alexandre Vauthier. Compared to those two gowns this white Stephane Rolland Fall 2014 Couture gown which feather 3-D stick like details fanning from a red bodice is incredibly extra. This gown is a definite statement that very few could actually make work on the red carpet, and Rihanna is one of the few. I have had this gown saved in my archive sine it was first presented, but I have never used it before. This just seemed like a case of the perfect person and the perfect event to finally put this gown in a wish list. Since the gown is such a statement I think that styling it with a sleek updo, smokey eye, red lips, a pair of red velvet Deimille ankle strap cutout sandals, and simple Chopard ruby stud floral stud earrings all would ensure this look is nothing but perfection head to toe.
