2018 SAG Awards: Presenters Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

We are getting close to this years SAG Awards red carpet and I am really excited to seeing what all of the stars are going to bring this year. After the iconic all black TIMES UP protest on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet we will see a dominance of women on this red carpet and I am really excited to see all of the moments that they are planning to bring to the red carpet this year.Gina Rodriguez isn’t usually one of the stars who I look to for a really interesting red carpet moment, but I am hopeful that she will deliver something extremely glamorous. This wine red beaded Georges Hobeika Fall 2017 Couture off the shoulder gown which features an a-line skirt is more of a princess moment that we usually see on the SAG Awards red carpet, especially on a presenter, but honestly it was the only thing that I was drawn to for her. I feel like we may see an elevated style on this red carpet with some of the options stars had been thinking about and falling in love with for the Golden Globe Awards ahead of the announcement of the TIMES UP protest. I think to make this a really beautiful moment for Gina I would add a pair of matching Aquazzura ‘Nathalie’ sandals, a chic updo, simple defined eyes, a bordeaux red lip, and an IVY New York red and purple spinal and diamond floral necklace to really make this one of Gina’s best red carpet moments ever. As I have said many times I have been loving vintage recently and I am really praying there will be a great vintage moment on the SAG Awards red carpet. Marisa Tomei will be presenting and she LOVES vintage. In the past she has worn vintage Charles James Couture for the Oscars, vintage Halston for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, and 40’s Gilbert Adrian for the Met Gala and I really want to see her give another beautiful vintage moment on Sunday at the SAG Awards. Several of her vintage moments have come from the world renowned vintage store Decades and so I went to their virtual racks to find the perfect vintage moment for Marisa. When I saw this pale yellow vintage Jean Louis Scherrer strapless silk gown from the 1960’s which features a side slit, sweetheart neckline with crossover fabric on bust, silk satin exterior, side sewn-bow  with excess fabric over side slit, and a gathered bodice on page 14 of their gowns I knew I had found it. I thought that the very distinct 60’s society style of this gown would be a great change of pace from all of the sheer gowns that have dominated red carpet recently. Style it with glamorous old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, a simple defined eye, pink lips, a gold glitter Jimmy Choo ‘Ellipse’ clutch, light gold Jimmy Choo ‘Lorina’ sandals, and white and yellow diamond Chopard Red Carpet Collection jewels including a pair of pendant drop earrings and a statement heart shaped cocktail ring to just ensure that this look oozes glamour from head to toe. I won’t lie Maya Rudolph isn’t one of my favorites on the red carpet. Often I find her looks frumpy and aging, and I really want to see her make a really chic moment on the SAG Awards red carpet. Stella McCartney is a brand that I feel like has taken stars who I have had similar thoughts about and given them moments that have been really good, so I thought I would pick a gown from her for Maya to wear on the SAG red carpet Sunday night. I do think that this black Stella McCartney one-shoulder gown cut from fluid stretch cady with a dramatic balloon sleeve and bracelet cuff would make for a really chic moment for Maya to wear on this red carpet. I feel like the sleeve detail really makes this more classic gown a little more dramatic. A loose romantic updo, smokey eye, red lip, black woven Corto Moltedo ‘Susan C Star’ clutch, simple black Schutz ‘Cadey Lee’ sandals, and a pair of Hueb ‘Mirage’ earrings in white gold with diamonds and London blue topaz all would really make this a stand out moment for Maya.Niecy Nash has been SERVING lewks on the red carpet recently. From fitted floral Naeem Khan at the Critics Choice Awards to sexy gold sequined MacDougal at the NAACP Image Awards she has just been oozing sophisticated sex appeal on the red carpet. Both of those gowns we fitted silhouettes with long sleeves and a plunging neckline, and while they were fierce I want to see Miss Niecy deliver something different when she steps onto the SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday. I think that she would take this beautifully draped red Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features a cape train, sexy split, sequined embroidery, and a plunging neckline and really own it on this red carpet. The dress itself is a moment and I think that with Niecy’s glamizon diva-tude would just take tit to a whole new level. Add a sleek updo, smokey eye, nude lips, a pair of red Casadei crossover strap sandals, and a selection of Djula jewels including a pair of ‘Beverly Hills’ diamond cluster earrings and three diamond bangle bracelets (one, two, and three) to add the perfect finishing touches to this look for Niecy. Olivia Munn shut down the Critics Choice Awards red carpet in a custom raspberry pink Prada gown with a beaded chandelier on the neckline. It was one of my favorite Prada moments in a really long time, and one of my favorite looks from Olivia in a really long time. For the SAG Awards I went to couture for Olivia. It has been a really long time since Olivia wore couture, but I thought that she would shut the carpet down wearing this black Armani Prive Fall 2017 Couture slip gown which features beaded embroidery on the decollete and hem and is completely covered in blue, purple, and grey crystal studs. Overall this gown reads as a smokey black, but the subtle colors of the studs just catch the lights and make the gown explode with color and I feel like on Olivia at the SAG Awards that it would make for the perfect gown for a presenter to wear. Old Hollywood waves, a defined eye, light pink lips, a blue sequined Oscar de la Renta ‘Rogan’ box clutch, black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and Niwaka jewels including diamond and sapphire drop earrings, and a statement diamond knot cocktail ring all would really ensure that this is the perfect moment for a presenter on the SAG Awards red carpet.

The 2018 SAG Awards will take place on Sunday January 21, 2018.
