Now that all my wishes for the stars nominated for the 2018 SAG Awards, both individually and as an ensemble cast, it is time to start focusing on all the stars who will be handing out the awards this year. I have read that the show will be very female dominated this year from hostess Kristen Bell to the presenters being mostly female. So I will just get to my wishes. Dakota Fanning has a mini series debuting on TNT on Monday called The Alienist so it doesn’t surprise me that she was announced as one of the presenters announced for this years SAG Awards. I have been hoping that the magic that her stylist Samantha McMillan has worked with her sister will rub off and that Dakota will have a really major moment on this red carpet. I would love to see her give some bold color with this electric yellow Carolina Herrera Spring 2018 RTW purple matchstick sequin embroidered gown rendered in silk and features a crew-neck, long sleeves, and a pleated hem. Color is something that Dakota doesn’t do very often. Usually she sticks to nude, beige, cream, white, and black so this would definitely be a step outside of that box for her. I think that if tailored correctly to ensure that the gown just skims the floor and doesn’t pool at her toes that I think that this would be a really major moment. Add a sleek low bun, defined eyes, a rose pink lip, nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, and a pair of simple Bulgari amethyst teardrop earrings all would ensure that Dakota kicks off 2018 in high style. Emma Stone has recently fully embraced her role as a Louis Vuitton ambassador recently and it has made me quite sad. When it was first announced Emma seemed to bounce around designers in addition to her LV looks, but her last three looks at the Governor’s Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and the Image Maker Awards have all come from Vuitton. So I am slowly loosing the battle in praying for variation. I am really fatigued with the current collection so until the new Vuitton collection comes out I am going to be picking looks from other designers for all of the LV girls. Emma took home the Best Actress in a Movie award last year at the SAG Awards and will be on hand again this Sunday to hand out one of the nights many awards. I went to vintage Givenchy to find a beautiful moment for Emma to rock on this red carpet. This navy blue vintage Givenchy one shoulder midi gown which features a dramatic ivory and navy ruffled ball sleeve and a faux wrap skirt is gorgeous and the moment I saw it Emma was actually the first person that came to mind in the collection. To me being a brand ambassador shouldn’t mean wearing the brand head to toe, or even having the brand as the main focus into an outfit. I think that adding something from a brand to every look still makes her a great brand ambassador. In this look I would add a navy blue Louis Vuitton ‘Petite Male’ clutch which features black trim and gold hardware to incorporate a little bit of her brand ambassador duties into this look. Round the look out with a pair of navy Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals, a sleek updo, a navy smokey eye, and a pair of 18k gold Repossi ‘Serti’ diamond ear crawler earrings.Halle Berry has been majorly disappointing on the red carpets recently. Her black lace Zuhair Murad mini dress at the Golden Globe Awards was too casual and and the lingerie inspired Reem Acra at the NAACP Image Awards was trashy. I’m hoping that when she steps onto the SAG Awards red carpet this weekend that Halle will deliver something sexy, but chic on the red carpet. I think that this gold sequin Dundas Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features long sleeves, a squared plunge neckline, an open back, and a train is the perfect look to help her do just that. The gown doesn’t need to be sheer to be sexy. I think that this Dundas gown would be the perfect way to bring the sexy to the SAG red carpet, but not give EVERYTHING away. I think that a sleek ponytail, smokey eye, nude lips, a pair of black Aquazzura ‘Jaipur’ gold embroidered sandals, and Maxior green jade and white topaz asymmetrical earrings would all ensure that Halle has a really beautiful moment from head to toe.Kelly Marie Tran isn’t a name that many will know. She burst into the Hollywood sphere with her performance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and gave many princess moments thanks to Thai Nguyen Atelier and Bibhu Mohapatra during the films promo tour. Those are the only windows in Kelly’s style that I have and I am wondering what the future has in store for her. I went to Christian Siriano, because he is the master of the princess moment and I think that this metallic violet and gold floral Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2018 one shoulder gown which features a draped a-line skirt would be a really major moment for Kelly to have on her first awards show red carpet. If the way Daisy Ridley was jettisoned to stardom has anything to say about it I think that Kelly is definitely one to watch. I would finish this gown with old Hollywood waves, defined eyes, a blush pink lip, black Schutz ‘Cadey Lee’ sandals, and a pair of Hueb ‘Gala’ earrings in white gold with white and black diamonds, black quartz, and pearls to really make this a beautiful moment. As she gears up to promote Black Panther I am really excited to see what Lupita Nyong’o will bring to the red carpet at the 2018 SAG Awards. Lupita is always one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet and I am hoping for some really major moments. Lupita LOVES color so I feel like she would be drawn to this bubblegum pink silk chiffon and burnt orange velvet Schiaparelli Fall 2017 Couture draped gown. I feel like there aren’t many awards show red carpets where this gown would really work, after parties yes main carpets no, but I think that on Lupita at the SAG Awards that it would be a totally major moment. Pair it with a pink and gold Tyler Ellis ‘Anjuli’ clutch, a high braided bun, smokey eye, a matching pink glossy lip, gold Francesco Russo ‘Hill’ sandals, and a pair of statement drop-earrings by Farah Khan which feature large round amethysts decorated with Mozambique rubies and white diamonds to ensure perfection.
The 2018 SAG Awards will take place on Sunday January 21, 2018.
