Today we are back on the lovely ladies of television and the women nominated in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. There are so many lovely ladies in drama series right now that there are a lot that just don’t make the cut for an individual nomination. What I love most about the SAG Awards is that they do honor the whole ensembles. I learned when I was doing live theater in high school that everyone in an ensemble is important and there are a lot of shows out there right now that have really strong ensembles.Emilia Clarke is one of the many stars of Game of Thrones and is one of my favorites to see on the red carpet. She kicked off awards season giving us blonde hair on the red carpet and really striking looks from Michael Kors, Elie Saab, Altuzarra, J.W. Anderson, and Dolce and Gabbana. I am hoping that despite the fact that she isn’t nominated that Emilia will still be on the red carpet. I think that her stepping out in this very 80’s red textured ruffled Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 gown which features a sweetheart neckline, two cutouts on the bodice, and an a-line skirt would be a really striking moment on the red carpet. I can understand that the dress might need the support of the spaghetti straps, but I would like to see the team from the Valentino Maison take this gown add some support in the bodice and make it strapless for Emilia to wear on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. I would let this look be all statement making with a sleek updo, smokey eye, matching red lip, a pair of nude Christian Louboutin ‘Crystal Queen’ embellished sandals, and a vintage Cartier 18k gold and diamond collar necklace to really ensure that Emilia gives us this very modern 80’s moment in the perfect way.Gwendoline Christie is one that I find to be very up and down on the red carpet. Her custom Giles Couture gown that she wore to the Golden Globe Awards was overcooked and albeit really ugly, but the silver Gucci gown that she wore for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi LA Premiere was glamour personified. I want to see the 6’3″ actress really deliver a glamorous moment on the SAG Awards red carpet, so I went to this grey and red Vionnet Spring 2018 RTW drapes gown which features a pink red and black ruched waist. I think that the draped glamour of this gown would definitely ensure a real moment for Gwendoline. Big structured gowns haven’t been a real winner for her in the past, but these very fluid gowns have been and I think that it would be a really beautiful moment for her on the red carpet. Round the look out with vintage inspired waves, bold defined eyes, a red lip, red Gianvito Rossi scalloped suede ankle wrap pumps, and a pair of statement vintage Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond waterfall earrings to ensure head to toe perfection.Maisie Williams is one of the underrated style stars from the cast of Game of Thrones. She has a lot of really great moments on the red carpet in the past and I am really excited to see what she could bring to the SAG Awards red carpet. For past SAG Awards she has worn rather unknown brands like Self-Portrait and Charlie Brear, and she definitely can spot a great up and coming brand for her red carpet moments. Ong Oaj Pairam is a British designer who has caught the likes of stars like Arizona Muse, Natalie Dormer, Skai Jackson, and Maisie herself so I thought picking another look from the brand for her to wear for the 2018 SAG Awards would be a great idea. This fully sequinned sable silk organza in an abstract Tiffany lamp design Ong Oaj Pairam Spring 2018 RTW midi length gown which features a strapless neckline and a tulip skirt is dramatic yet simple enough for the SAG Awards red carpet. I think that Maisie would definitely take this gown add a romantic updo, smokey eye, rose pink lips, and a pair of nude Rene Caovilla crystal bow embellished heel sandals and really ensure that this is a beautiful moment for this red carpet. Nathalie Emmanuel is another of the GoT ladies that I feel are incredibly underrated when it comes to their red carpet style. While she hasn’t necessarily been the most consistent guest on the SAG Awards red carpet she has walked this red carpet in the past wearing designs from J. Mendel Couture and Herve Leger. I went for a big reach by picking this olive green fringed Christian Dior Fall 2017 Couture sleeveless gown which features a column silhouette and a plunging neckline, but I definitely think that it fits the edgy, bohemian vibes that Nathalie tends to exude on the red carpet. Dior tends to over-saturate the red carpet market, and I feel like this would be the perfect example of the right dress on the right girl. Tight, voluminous curls, an olive smokey eye, burgundy lips, black Aquazzura ‘Goddess’ silk braided sandals, and a pair of Fred Leighton diamond and citrine chandelier earrings set in silver and 18K yellow gold all would really make sure that Nathalie just exudes bohemian cool girl glam.Sophie Turner is a fave of Louis Vuitton and I would expect nothing less than her wearing a custom gown from the brand on the SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday night. There aren’t many looks left from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 RTW collection that could be turned into a custom gown for this red carpet. I would love to see Sophie take this white sequin fringed knit lace gown from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 RTW collection and have the brands designer Nicolas Ghesquière turn it into a floor length column gown. Sophie in white can be magical. Her peachy skin tone and fire red locks just pop against the color. Styling the look with a sleek ponytail, smokey eyes, a bold red lip, white Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ half d’Orsay pumps, and a selection of Louis Vuitton High Jewellery including emerald and diamond drop earrings and a statement emerald, onyx, and diamond cocktail ring would all ensure that this is a really chic statement for Sophie.Vanessa Kirby is the only person on this list who isn’t part of the cast of Game of Thrones. Instead she is Princess Margaret in The Crown. She has become a fan favorite even if the awards nominations only go to Claire Foy. She has been working with power stylist Michela Erlanger (who also dresses Diane Kruger, Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong’o, and Ana De Armas) and wearing some amazing things from the likes of Prada, Marchesa, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab. So I am hoping that she will steal the show on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. Often we don’t see stars who aren’t nominated in the individual categories wearing couture on the SAG red carpet, but I feel like the inner rebellious Princess Margaret is the perfect person to bring this black silk Chanel Fall 2017 Couture tea length gown to life on the red carpet. The new couture collection will debut two days after the SAG Awards so I say why not? Add a chic updo, winged eyeliner, red lips, a pair of black satin Sophia Webster ‘Coco’ crystal heel pumps, Chanel Fine Jewelry diamond and onyx disc earrings, and a statement black and white diamond Chanel Fine Jewelry bracelet to really make this the perfect couture moment for Vanessa to rock on the SAG Awards red carpet.
The 2018 SAG Awards will be held on Sunday January 21, 2018.
