As I flipped through the pictures from the Versace Fall 2018 Menswear show Bruno Mars songs just started playing in the back of my mind. From the “Uptown Funk” to “Finesse” to “Versace On The Floor” there was a whole spectrum of looks that I just want to put on and strut around the streets of Milan wearing with the music of Bruno Mars as the soundtrack to my life. Donatella is on FIRE. For Fall 2017 it seemed like Donatella took her usually sleek and sexy man and took him on a bohemian adventure. Mixing prints, baggier silhouettes, silk, velvet, wool, and pony hair all played into this uptown meets downtown look that I am just totally in love with.Ever since she dug deep into the archives for the Versace Tribute collection for Spring 2018 RTW she has really unleashed a whole new vibe among the brand. Each of the looks above I want in my closet right now. The baroque printed coats are my favorite (especially the plaid and baroque one to the right of center.) While some might see that coat on the side of extra, but I feel like its a staple piece. I would wear it with t-shirts and jeans, button downs, khaki suits, black and camel turtlenecks, sneakers, loafers, and oxfords. I would literally live in it, that is how much I love it. I also thought that I could get this yellow plaid look and give a new modern gender-bent take on Cher from Clueless, I also think someone like Lewis Hamilton could also rock the hell out of it. Other stars including Bruno Mars, Nick Jonas, Future, Cam Newton, Idris Elba, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dwyane Wade, Austin Mahone, Chris Brown, Kanye West, and Jared Leto all came to mind as I thought about who I could see wearing either full runway looks or pieces from this collection on the red carpet. Nick Jonas would definitely be drawn to the navy blue tuxedo (right of center, above) and I think could be a good option for him if he is nominated for an Academy Award.
