2018 SAG Awards: Best Actress – TV Movie or Limited Series Nominees Red Carpet Wish List

My last set of wishes for individual nominees are for the ladies who are nominated for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series. What makes me sad about this is that it pushes people that have competed in other categories all into one category. That will be interesting when it comes to this years nominations in this category since winners of Emmys and Globes in the Lead in Supporting categories for movies and limited series are now competing against each other. Jessica Lange is nominated for her performance as Joan Crawford in Feud: Bette and Joan. She isn’t likely to win and I actually wonder if she will show up after she skipped attending the Golden Globe Awards just a week ago. Sometimes Jessica is a big style star and sometimes she isn’t, so if she does show up on the SAG Awards red carpet I really want to see her deliver a really chic fashion moment. That is why I turned to this black and blue ombré Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture gown which features long sleeves, a squared neckline, fit and flare silhouette, and a dramatic train. This is a really chic moment for her to wear, but I wonder if she would go for something this dramatic. I would think that the Elie Saab team would make this dress sans train if Academy Award winner Jessica Lange called. That would definitely make this gown more SAG Awards red carpet friendly. Personally I always live by the idea of when in doubt be extra, so I personally wouldn’t remove the train, but I could see why Jessica would want to. Add a pair of navy satin Jimmy Choo ‘Alexa’ broach embellished pumps, dramatic waves, a smokey eye, nude lips, and a pair of vintage diamond and sapphire drop earrings to ensure head to toe perfection.Laura Dern is one of the two horses in this race. She has taken home the Emmy, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe Award in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role on Television category. Her performance in Big Little Lies was great, but I have to say that in my personal opinion her winning streak has ended. With that being said she still needs to be on top form in case an upset happens and I think that this iridescent black sequined J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2018 strapless gown which features an A-line silhouette with a straight neckline, embellished front and contrast pleated back. I wondered if this was going to be black enough for the Golden Globe Awards, and after wondering I don’t think that the iridescent sequins (which make the front panel more blue than black) would have made the cut. I think that for the SAG Awards red carpet that Laura would definitely look incredibly chic and glamorous. To really ensure that this look is nothing but glamour I would add a romantic updo, defined eyes, nude lips, a pewter Serpui embellished clutch, dark denim blue suede Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino’ sandals, and a statement 19th century Neil Lane diamond necklace.Nicole Kidman has really been experimenting with fashion recently. In the last year I have been surprised by options she has worn for red carpet after red carpet more than I have been from her in YEARS. A year ago I would have never thought to pick this dramatic tiered ruffle Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture gown which features a plunging neckline and back and intricate beaded embroidery. But her dramatic style recently has definitely makes me think of something that Nicole would definitely give a try. As my favorite to win in this category I really want to see her giver her all and this would definitely do that. I would keep the styling really sleek including a tight low bun, a smokey eye, red lip, silver Christian Louboutin ‘Follies Strass’ glitter heel pumps, and a pair of simple Harry Winston diamond cluster earrings to really ensure that this is a best dressed moment waiting to happen from head to toe.Reese Witherspoon has one of my favorite wishes for the 2018 SAG Awards red carpet. I have been LOVING vintage lately and knowing Reese’s history (including that beautiful 1950’s Christian Dior Couture gown she won her Oscar wearing) I thought that a vintage moment for her would be a really great idea. That is when I saw this black silk organza vintage Balenciaga gown from 1953 embroidered with floral motifs in silver, copper, gold metallic threads and beads. This is a true show stopping piece of vintage. A truly rare piece. I feel like if anyone could take this beautiful vintage piece and really bring it the classy and glamorous moment that it deserves on a red carpet that Reese is the PERFECT person to do so. Add chic old Hollywood waves, winged eyeliner, a red lip, gold Aquazzura ‘Uma’ strappy sandals, and a selection of vintage Tiffany & Co. jewels including a pair of 1940’s Jean Schlumberger gold set pearl and diamond cluster earrings, an 18k gold and diamond link bracelet, and a Jean Schlumberger black enamel, diamond, and gold bangle to really ensure this look is nothing but perfection.Last but not least is Susan Sarandon. I cannot say that she is one that I get really excited to see on a red carpet. She tends to favor these off the shoulder gowns that fit too tight. For the SAG Awards red carpet I decided to give her something that I can definitely picture her wearing this black DSquared2 tuxedo gown which features notched lapels, a deep V-neck, four front buttons and a welt pocket at each hip, with the waist cinched by a wide touch strap belt, but gives something a little more different than we are used to her wearing. I think that adding her signature curls, a smokey eye, red lip, a black Jimmy Choo ‘Riva’ metallic bow clutch, a pair of black patent Jimmy Choo double ankle strap sandals, and a statement sapphire Chopard Red Carpet Collection necklace would ensure that I don’t find this Oscar winning actress a total snooze-fest on the SAG Awards red carpet.

The 2018 SAG Awards will be held on Sunday January 21, 2018.
