2018 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

Now that all of my Golden Globe Awards wishes have been made I am back with three more days of wishes for the 2018 Critics Choice Awards red carpet, which will take place this coming Thursday January 11, 2018 at the Baker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport. I am really excited to see the show return to awards season and I feel like the style of the stars on this red carpet this year will be really major. I think that being sandwiched between the Globes and the SAG Awards we just might see the biggest Critics Choice Awards red carpet yet, which means some really beautiful moments on this red carpet. Angelina Jolie is on an Oscar campaign for a nomination for the film First They Killed My Father, which she directed, in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. She has gotten a Golden Globe nomination and is nominated at the Critics Choice Awards, so I feel like we just might see her really bring it this awards season. For the Critics Choice Awards red carpet, I want to see Angie go for glamour wearing this strapless white silk Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2017 Couture gown which gives me major femme fatale vibes. After we are sure to see Angie wearing black on the Globes red carpet, this would be a really chic look to follow that with. Angie is the queen of black, but I know that the real magic comes when she wears color, or in this case the absence of color. This gown is the perfect canvas for a major 40’s inspired beauty moment, with a chic victory rolls inspired updo, thick winged eyeliner, a bold red lip. Add light gold Christian Louboutin ‘Iriza’ d’Orsay pointed toe pumps and a pair of vintage gold set Van Cleef & Arpels diamond and emerald bead tassel earrings to really ensure that Angie is the definition of perfection.Fresh Off The Boat star Constance Wu’s performance in the show has earned her the fourth straight Best Actress in a Comedy Series nomination she has had at the Critics Choice Awards. Despite being one of the constant faces nominated in this category Constance has never won, but she has attended each ceremony so I would imagine she will be back on the red carpet next week. Every time that Constance has walked a red carpet she has worn some sort of draped gown with a bohemian air about it. While they do suit her I decided to go for a much more structured look for Constance for the 2018 Critics Choice Awards red carpet. I want to see her go for the glam wearing this fuchsia J. Mendel Resort 2018 trumpet gown which features a strapless sweetheart neckline, delicate floral embroidery, and a tiered construction. I think that the color on Constance would be a really beautiful moment and I do think that with her petite frame that she would still really work it on the red carpet. A sleek updo, defined eyes, dark rose pink lips, a rose gold satin Serpui clasp clutch with a black tassel detail, sangria velvet RAYE ‘Blake’ sandals, and a pair of really beautiful Annoushka ‘Flamenco’ diamond and pink mother of pearl chandelier earrings all would add the perfect glamorous touches to this look.Emma Stone is one of the many faces of the latest Louis Vuitton ad campaign, and she will surely wear several looks from the brand over the course of awards season. I have mixed feelings because I love Emma and pretty much loathe Louis Vuitton, but so far Emma’s LV looks haven’t been terrible. I just hope that we don’t see Emma wearing the same looks that we have now seen over and over again on the red carpets this awards season. For the 2018 Critics Choice Awards I went with a Louis Vuitton design and I am wishing that Emma will take this grey sequin embroidered Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 RTW sleeveless cocktail dress which features floral embroidery, an a-line skirt, and a mock turtleneck and have it turned into a gown. While I think that Emma can get away with a cocktail dress on this red carpet I think that this dress would be much more statement making and impactful as a gown. Custom gowns from LV usually turn out better than the head to toe runway look. I would implore Emma to leave the nude and black striped long sleeve bodysuit and the fugly dad sneakers that the dress was paired with on the runway at home. They bring this dress down. Swap those sneakers for a pair of bi-tone grey Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ metallic leather pumps and add a sleek updo, smokey eye, nude lips, a silver Louis Vuitton ‘Louise’ logo clutch, and statement vintage Fred Leighton diamond chandelier earrings to make this one of the best LV red carpet moment in forever.Jessica Chastain is a queen on the red carpet and I have been long awaiting another awards season run from her. Her last Oscar run was in 2013 for Zero Dark Thirty. I am really interested in seeing what she will bring this awards season as she campaigns for that Oscar nomination for her role in Molly’s Game. At the 2018 Critics Choice Awards Jessica’s performance in that film have earned her a Best Actress in a Movie nomination. For this red carpet I thought that this slightly sheer burgundy Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2018 midi gown which features long sleeves, a cutout on the chest with a tie at the neckline, an A-line tulle skirt, embroidered lace, and a fitted bodice. In the past Jessica has attended the Critics Choice Awards wearing gowns from Prada, Balenciaga, Antonio Berardi, and Nina Ricci and I have to say that only the Nina Ricci was one that ended up on my Best Dressed list over the worst dressed list. I think that since the variation of styles that are acceptable on this red carpet make it one of the harder ones to figure out, but I think that this Elie Saab gown would be a perfect moment for Jessica to have on the red carpet. I think that the color would compliment her red hair perfectly. Style it in a center parted low bun adding a smokey eye, burgundy lip, simple black Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudistsong’ sandals, and a pair of Piaget paisley diamond cluster earrings to ensure that Jessica has a really beautiful moment on this red carpet. Mary Elizabeth Winstead has never attended at Critics Choice Awards in the past, so for her first (despite a Best Acting Ensemble nomination for Bobby in 2007) appearance on this red carpet I went for more of a princess moment. The Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series is beautiful and she can deliver a lewk, so I would love to see her give us this ethereal princess champagne gold J. Mendel Fall 2017 RTW sequin embroidered tulle gown which features a sleeveless bodice, cape like detail, defined black ribbon waist, and a draped back. As we now have Resort 2018, Spring 2018 RTW, and Pre-Fall 2018 looks from J. Mendel this gown might be lost to the archive, but I think that it would be a really perfect moment for her to deliver on this red carpet. This look would be perfectly rounded out with a romantic updo, defined eyes, a deep red lip, a gold Judith Leiber Couture ‘Speccio’ faceted box clutch, gold Gianvito Rossi ‘Opera’ crystal embellished ankle wrap sandals, and a pair of gold and diamond Cartier pendant earrings.Reese Witherspoon is expected to be a big winner this awards season as a named producer of Big Little Lies, which is nominated for Best Limited Series, and has earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series. I am interested to see what Reese will bring to the red carpets over this awards season. I am hesitant because often when I set my expectations high Reese lets me down (like she did wearing Stella McCartney at the Emmy Awards.) For this red carpet I went to this light pistachio green Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 RTW layered rib strapless gown features a straight neckline, column silhouette, and floor length hem with a slight train. The shape of the gown is nothing new for Reese. In fact she has worn two similar Brandon Maxwell gowns in the past one in black and one in dark green. What I think is that if she is in her comfort zone then maybe the details in the look will be 100% on point. I would have Reese pair this gown with a large high bun, simple defined eyes, a light pink lip, silver Christian Louboutin ‘Degrastrass’ PVC, crystal embellished pumps, and Tiffany & Co. jewels including a pair of green tsavorite and diamond tassel earrings and a vintage art deco diamond bracelet to ensure that everything about this look from head to toe is nothing but perfection.Tiffany Haddish is one who I am interested in seeing what she will bring to the red carpets this awards season. Heading into this years nominations Tiffany, and her performance in Girls Trip, had a lot of buzz behind it. So when both the Globes and SAG nominations came and she wasn’t nominated it was seen as a major snub. I personally haven’t seen the movie, so I don’t have anything to really add on that front. She did however earn two Critics Choice Awards nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in a Comedy for her performance in the movie. Since this is the big carpet she is nominated for I think that Tiffany will really go for it. I think that this metallic black Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture one shoulder gown is something that Tiffany would be drawn to, and I think that she has the attitude to really make this gown turn into a major sexy moment on this red carpet. I don’t know much about Tiffany’s style, but from what I have seen I think that she would be drawn to the sexy glamour of this look. Add a pair of black Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Coline Wings’ sandals, a tight braided bun updo, smokey eye, nude glossy lips, and a pair of Loren Jewels striped silver and 14kt gold pave champagne diamond earrings to ensure that Tiffany does her look some major justice on this red carpet.

The 2018 Critics Choice Awards will take place on Thursday January 11, 2018.
