After the marathon of posts I created for the AFI Awards red carpet yesterday we are back to just a regular one post a day on the road into award season. On Wednesday January 3, 2018 the New York Film Critics Circle will gather in NYC to celebrate the honors that they have had bestowed upon them. What makes me wonder about who will be on the red carpet at this event is the fact that the night before are the Palm Springs International Film Festival Black Tie Awards Gala, out in California. So all of the stars who are being nominated and honored at EVERYTHING better get signed up for frequent flier rewards. We haven’t heard who will get the Best Picture award at the Palm Springs awards so I don’t know if Greta Gerwig will snag another award for Lady Bird, but it has taken the Best Film award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. Greta has been working overtime promoting her directorial debut and it has been pretty successful thus far. I would love to see Greta step out on this red carpet wearing one of her go to designers Gabriela Hearst. I think that we could see Greta go to something really chic and tailored for this red carpet and this navy blue silk wool Gabriela Hearst Spring 2018 RTW tuxedo which features a notch lapel blazer and straight leg trousers with a slash at the ankles. I felt like that slash means that this suit has to have a really major shoe moment. They would have the perfect platform. I would love to see Greta wearing a pair of really killer No. 21 burgundy satin sandals with a thick black satin heel and clear and emerald crystal details with this suit. They would definitely add just this major spice to this look and while Greta can be pretty simple and classic I think that this would be a really major moment for her. Sleek hair, a kohl rimmed defined eye, and a nude lip would all really add the perfect finishing touches to this look.Saoirse Ronan will have to party at the Palm Springs Film Festival and then jump on a red eye in her couture to make it from California to NYC for the New York Film Critics Circle Awards where she will be honored with the Best Actress award for her role in Lady Bird. Saoirse has some amazing style and I am really excited to see what being the likely winner of an Academy Award will do to her style over the course of awards season. I would love to see Saoirse step out for the NYFCC Awards wearing this blue water printed Chanel Spring 2018 RTW draped chiffon tea length gown which features a plunging neckline and a brooch detail. Saoirse is such a chic Chanel girl that I think that for this kind of red carpet that this gown will make for a really elegant moment for Saoirse to help kick off her award season in a really chic way especially if she wears it with a loose updo, defined eyes, a pink lip, Chanel High Jewellery diamond, sapphire, and pearl drop earrings, and a pair of navy Jimmy Choo ‘Hepser’ sandals.Tiffany Haddish is one that I am intrigued to see what she will bring to the red carpet over the course of Award Season. She isn’t one who I have had a whole lot of thought about in the past and I am really hoping that she will have some really great fashion moments at the events she will attend. At the New York Film Critics Circle Awards Tiffany will be honored with the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Girls Trip. I won’t lie I haven’t yet seen this movie and I don’t know much about Tiffany’s taste, but when I saw that she was nominated Michael Costello was the first brand to come to mind. I thought of this black gown from his Michael Costello x Revolve collection which features a plunging neckline, lace trimmed flutter sleeves, and a cut-out back with a tie closure for this red carpet. I don’t usually think of gowns with trains when I think of the NYFCC Awards, but I think that Tiffany could go a little extra for this red carpet since she isn’t expected at many events this season. I think that with a high braided bun, smokey eye, red lip, black Christian Louboutin ‘Amazoubille’ silver studded sandals, and a pair of killer black diamond green agate quartz Stephen Webster ‘Love Me Love Me Not’ earrings that Tiffany would be ensured a really major and glam moment on this red carpet.
The 2018 New York Film Critics Circle Awards will take place on Wednesday January 3, 2018.
