2017 End of the Year Style Awards: Ones to Watch

At the end of every year I like to see who are really the ones to watch in the next year. Usually the names on this list aren’t that well known, but on occasion I throw a big name that I feel has been MIA for a while. These 4 ladies have had some major moments in the past and I am ready to see how bight their style star shines in 2018!1) Anne Hathaway: Anne is no stranger to the red carpet. The Academy Award winning actress has been on top of all kinds of Best (and Worst) dressed lists in the past. She has had some red carpet moments since her Oscar win for Les Miserables, but nothing really major. Following her sad style during that award season Anne split from longtime stylist Rachel Zoe and started working with Penny Lovell. The two haven’t had a really major press tour to work with yet and I am getting really excited to see what the two have in store for Anne’s four movie tours next year. With a June 8, 2018 release date I am still praying that Ocean’s Eight will screen at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and the Barbie tour could also hold some really glam moments too!

2) Anya Taylor Joy: The American-born Argentine-British actress has been on the scene as a dark horse style star for a while. She was a nominee for the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award this year. She also took home the Chopard Trophy at the Cannes Film Festival and Best Female Newcomer at the Empire Awards this year. She might only have one film on the roster for next year, but with it being a X-Men franchise film I am expecting the promo tour for The New Mutants to be major. Anya loves Gucci, Schiaparelli, Prada, and Miu Miu and I definitely think that she will be the one that everyone is asking “who’s that girl” when she steps out to promote this film.

3) Sophie Turner: Sophie Turner is most known for her role of Sansa Stark in HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones. She is a face of Louis Vuitton and I think that this next year when she steps out to promote X-Men: Dark Phoenix she is definitely going to be able to hang with the likes of major red carpet style stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, and Olivia Munn that also star alongside her in this movie. A major X-Men promo tour will definitely warrant at least two major red carpets in LA and in London so I have high expectations as to what Sophie will wear. I might not be the biggest Louis Vuitton fan, but Sophie seems to wear the brand well so I think that she will be able to deliver something I can fall in love with.

4) Zazie Beetz: Out of all the names on my Ones to Watch list this year I think that Zazie Beetz is probably the most unknown. The German/African-American actress has a supporting role in Atlanta, which seemed to sweep the Emmy Awards this year in the Drama series category, and I am expecting to see her on the red carpet on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards at least to support the show. She has a role in the upcoming still untitled Deadpool sequel and has two other projects on the horizon for next year as well. What made me take notice of her was the bold Rosie Assoulin floral duvet gown that Zazie wore for the Emmy Awards this year.
