2017 End of the Year Style Awards: Queen of the Sidewalk Runway

Continuing the pattern that I have never had the same star take home my Queen of the Sidewalk runway award two new names are added to this list. In the past I have given this title to the likes of Amal Clooney, Reese Witherspoon, Taylor Swift, Olivia Palermo, Miranda Kerr, and Salma Hayek. This year I was in a deadlock on who I should give this award to. There weren’t as many stars serving lewks on the sidewalk this year, but when those that did really delivered the most. That is why I decided to call this one a tie and give it to the two women who really delivered the most major moment this year. Over the course of July Celine Dion was touring France and attending Paris Couture Fashion Week and each time she stepped out of her Parisian hotel she was serving a really major look from one fashion house or another. It was a close draw last year when Celine wore quite a few major fashion moments that she was beat out narrowly by Amal Clooney, but this year she was serving nothing but fierce fashion. She and stylist Law Roach really upped the factor of Celine’s style. She had this award on lock when she walked out of the doors of her hotel wearing a Ralph & Russo Couture floor length cape with a major wide brimmed hat. Couture at noon on the sidewalk? I am always here for that. She delivered so many major looks including the coveted $10,000 Saint Laurent crystal boots, snakeskin coats from Balmain and Rochas, head to toe runway looks from Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Bibhu Mohapatra, DSquared2, and Roberto Cavalli. The looks were definitely not for the faint of heart, but Celine once again is seen as a risk taking fashion superstar once again. Olivia Culpo was the other lady who did the most this year. She rocked a little bit more of an accessible look than Celine did this year. She always was perfectly dressed from head to toe thanks to her stylist Jennifer Mazur. She rocked looks form some of the coveted street style brands like Off-White, ADEAM, Alice + Olivia, Altuzarra, and Ungaro, She was also the first person to step out wearing the Victoria Beckham for Target collection before it hit the stores. There were so many extremely chic moments on the side walk this year from Olivia. She is definitely one who could break my pattern and bring home this award again next year, and I am really praying that she does.
